The people of Israel wanted a King like their surrounding nations and God had warned them about what the king they wanted would do to them. But in their blindness they disregarded the Lord’s warning and insisted on having their own way. He gave them Saul to teach them a valuable lesson. The one thing that grieved God was the fact that their actions would lead to their rejection of HIM as their king ultimately. Today I will be talking about Samuel’s exchange with Saul in 1 Samuel 10: 1-5 (the prophetic words he spoke to him and their implications). I will be considering the following questions

hello guys this is ty here again and we
0:05
on to another story and this comes out
0:08
of the book of Samuel or the first book
0:12
of Samuel in chapter 10 now before I get
0:15
into in today's Sunday and this is
0:17
Mother's Day so I hope that you've
0:20
wished your mother a Happy Mother's Day
0:23
you know their gift from God and we
0:26
should not take them for granted
0:27
now if your mother happy Mother's Day to
0:29
you from you alright so let's get into
0:33
the story now again before I get into it
0:36
I just want to make this clear like when
0:39
you read on the stories of the Old
0:42
Testament you always want to make sure
0:45
you you ask God to open your mind so you
0:48
can see Jesus in it because that's the
0:52
same that says that the New Testament is
0:57
in the old one concealed and the old one
1:00
isn't a new one revealed basically the
1:04
main topic in the old and the New
1:08
Testament is Jesus and when you begin to
1:11
really ask God to open your minds to see
1:15
him through the pages of Scripture you'd
1:18
be amazed and your confidence in the
1:20
Word of God just goes from just it just
1:24
goes even higher
1:25
I mean God is such an amazing and and
1:28
and and great and just the most perfect
1:32
being like Isis Freud says anyway
1:35
I don't want to take away from this
1:37
story so let's get let's stick to the
1:39
topic of pain so I'm gonna set the
1:42
background real quick and then we're
1:43
gonna go from there now the Jewish
1:45
nation one in the king like the
1:47
surrounding nations and God I warned
1:50
them through our Samuel about what the
1:53
king would do when their blindness they
1:56
just didn't care about the Lord warning
1:59
and they just wanted their own way and
2:01
they said you know what we wanted King
2:03
like every other nation we wanted
2:05
Kingdom who had fight our battles for us
2:08
and the one thing that grieved God was
2:11
the fact that this action
2:13
the actions will lead to the ultimate
2:17
rejection of Jesus himself
2:21
the true king when he came from
2:24
thousands of years later so today I'll
2:27
be talking about the exchange between
2:29
Samuel and soul in first chapter Samuel
2:32
10 verse 105 the prophetic words he
2:36
spoke and their implications all right
2:39
so let's get into the our presentation
2:41
real quick and we're gonna talk about
2:42
that let's get into it I think I wanna
2:45
find it over here so let me show already
2:49
set the stage and then we're gonna look
2:51
at how many people are involved in the
2:52
story the items in the story and why
2:55
they are so important okay
2:58
now before we get into chapter 10 let's
3:00
look at the end of chapter 9 so Samuel
3:03
the Prophet is prophesying and he's
3:06
under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit
3:08
I want to make sure he got see that it's
3:09
not just saying you're speaking it's God
3:11
speaking through Samuel he's using
3:13
Samuel as his instrument and so let's
3:16
see what he says master were going down
3:18
to the outskirts of the city
3:20
Samuel said to Saul tell the servant to
3:24
pass him before us and when he has
3:25
passed on stop here yourself for a while
3:28
that I mean make known to you the Word
3:31
of God predicting prophecy and / knowing
3:36
future events so now let's take it from
3:39
chapter 9 and let's take it to first
3:41
first samuel train verse 1 5 and this is
3:44
what samuel says and this shall be
3:47
assigned to you that the lord has
3:49
anointed you to be prince over his
3:51
heritage so Samuel say look these things
3:54
are going to happen and you'll be
3:56
assigned to confirm that you were chosen
3:58
King so when you leave here when you
4:02
depart from here today you meet two men
4:03
by Rachel's Tomb in the territory of
4:06
Benjamin and they will say to you a
4:08
donkey is that she went to seek I found
4:11
and now your father had ceased to care
4:14
about the donkeys and he's anxious about
4:16
you saying what shall I do with my son
4:19
meaning sword then you shall go from
4:23
there and then come to the hook of table
4:25
and three men going up to
4:27
at Bethel we'll meet you one carrying
4:30
three young goats another carrying three
4:32
loaves of bread and another carrying a
4:34
skin of wine and they will greet you and
4:37
give you two loaves of bread which we'll
4:39
accept from their hand and then this
4:41
story stops and there's more but I'm not
4:43
gonna focus on that today because he
4:46
goes so leaves he happened he actually
4:50
happens so let's get into the the
4:53
understanding what's going on here
4:55
there's two men that he meets and they
4:58
have a message for saw the two men said
5:00
something really profound to solve their
5:03
message in verse two the donkey's that
5:06
you went to seek are found and now your
5:09
father has seized to carry by the
5:11
donkeys and he's anxious about you
5:13
saying what shall I do with my own son
5:17
means meaning soul so what do the
5:21
donkeys represent I think Saul's
5:23
father's donkeys were lost and he went
5:25
after them at his father's instructions
5:27
so the donkeys to me as I was led by the
5:31
Holy Spirit the lost sheep of Israel and
5:34
the nation's that's what they represent
5:36
and why do I say that if you look at
5:38
Matthew 21 7 Jesus goes into Jerusalem
5:43
he sits on a donkey in his court and the
5:45
donkey and is called what a
5:46
representation of the Jewish nation and
5:49
the Gentiles which is us those that did
5:52
not belong but are Jenna and genetically
5:56
by natural birth to the Jewish nation we
5:58
are the Gentiles but we are still
6:00
children of God because we have got to
6:03
look up I promise so bloody donkey and
6:05
record and put on them their clothes and
6:07
he sat on them he sat on them as a king
6:09
he sat on the donkey and his coat and he
6:12
went into Jerusalem and let's see what
6:14
happens as he walks into Jerusalem in
6:16
Luke 19 verse 41 42 it says that Jesus
6:19
weeps over Jerusalem and when he drew
6:22
near he saw the city he wept over it
6:25
saying would ask you even you had known
6:28
on this day things that make for peace
6:30
but now they are hidden from your eyes
6:33
so saw
6:35
represents the Pharisees and a system in
6:37
place they were supposed to be the
6:39
chosen one
6:40
leading nations but he missed it and the
6:43
next verse I say we shed some light on
6:45
that so think about it
6:46
Saul's father is ceases to care about
6:49
the donkey's and now he's anxious about
6:52
his son
6:53
starting the Bible for any resistance it
6:56
wasn't why that's there for us so I
6:58
think Saul's father is basically a
7:00
representation of God the Father and
7:02
Saul was supposed to be the nation they
7:05
turned the Jewish nation going and
7:07
showing us the way to the Father but
7:09
then he missed it and I like I said the
7:13
next phase would shed some light on it
7:14
the three men and the items they carried
7:17
and in 1st Samuel verse 5 the three men
7:20
gone took together at Bethel they were
7:22
going to sacrifice they were going to
7:23
make a sacrifice there and then one had
7:25
one of the men has three young goats and
7:28
another had three loaves of bread and
7:30
another skin of wine think about it and
7:34
he and in several thoughts on saw the
7:37
creature and easy to loaves of bread
7:39
which you shall accept from their hand
7:41
and the three young goes for the
7:43
sacrifice well for the sacrifice what
7:46
about the branding his skin of white
7:47
Saul took to lose why and I want to be
7:52
very careful here that's what I said
7:53
in the PowerPoint presentation I think
7:57
again this is God opening my mind I
8:00
think that the rules of bread is a
8:03
representation or our representation of
8:05
the law and the prophets Israel had the
8:09
law and the prophets but he missed the
8:11
Lamb of God he missed Jesus remember the
8:15
three men continued their journey with
8:17
the last bread and a skein of wine and
8:19
the goats and Saul went on his way
8:23
thus missing the entire message so it
8:26
took the two loose and he left he didn't
8:28
follow the man he didn't follow him they
8:31
went ahead and they had the skin of wine
8:33
and the bread they went to make a
8:34
sacrifice so basically the Pharisees
8:37
they had a law they had a prophet they
8:40
had Moses they had Elijah they had all
8:42
the profit they are all the story they
8:44
had everything but when Christ came on a
8:47
picture they missed it the me
8:51
the main subject of the entire law and
8:55
the Prophet who is Christ it took the
8:58
two loaves of bread and they did not
9:00
take the last bread and his skin of wine
9:02
they missed it and I think that's what
9:05
the story is there let's look at Luke 22
9:07
the institution of the Lord's Supper and
9:10
what he says there and when the hour
9:11
came we was going to be crucified he
9:15
reclined at the table and they are
9:16
posted with him and he said to them I
9:18
have earnestly desire to eat this
9:20
passover with you before i suffer for i
9:23
tell you i will not eat it until it is
9:25
fulfilled in the kingdom of god and he
9:26
took the cup of wine of course and we
9:29
are given thanks he said take this and
9:30
divided among yourself for I tell you
9:33
that from now on I will not drink of the
9:34
fruit of the vine until the kingdom of
9:36
God comes
9:37
and then he took the bread the last
9:39
piece of bread and when he got given
9:41
thanks he broke it and gave it to them
9:42
saying this is my body which is given
9:44
for you
9:45
Saul had the to bread he had the law and
9:49
the prophet but he missed the last bread
9:51
and even missed the wine the the Jewish
9:55
nation at a time I don't want such a
9:57
Jewish nation I want to say the
9:58
Pharisees in the system in place
10:00
describes the Sadducees all the teachers
10:03
of the law they had everything they had
10:06
a law they had a prophet they had all
10:08
this stuff what he missed the King Jesus
10:12
when he came in a picture they took all
10:14
the two loaves of bread but he means the
10:16
last button is king of wine and I think
10:19
that's why that story is there for our
10:21
sake so that we can see what's going on
10:23
here that God is a God of order he knows
10:25
exactly why he puts those stories in the
10:28
Bible as far as so that when we read it
10:30
we can have confidence that this is
10:33
truly the Word of God
10:34
alright I hope this helps you guys I
10:36
hope that we begin to see how much more
10:38
powerful how much perfect that is and
10:41
the way he just orchestrated these
10:44
stories in his scripture so that when
10:46
they materialize like when Jesus came in
10:48
a picture we can see that God already
10:50
moved what was gonna happen to those
10:53
Pharisees could you miss it the same way
10:55
Saul missed it and therefore he says
10:58
that's why this is here let me go back
11:00
to that again the donkeys that she went
11:04
to seek I found
11:05
and now your father has ceased to care
11:07
about it donkeys and he's anxious about
11:09
you and I think this is exactly what God
11:11
is saying I went I sent to the Pharisees
11:14
and I said the describes I sent all
11:16
these people to so that they could be
11:18
the one leading people to me but if they
11:21
didn't missed it
11:22
the donkeys which is us the Gentile and
11:25
those of of the Jewish nation I believe
11:28
in Jesus and the Gentiles I believe in
11:30
just those were found but those
11:32
Pharisees lost it
11:35
they lost the last piece of bread in the
11:38
skin of wine I think that's why the
11:39
story is there so think with me and pray
11:42
but I ask God to give you knowledge and
11:45
wisdom and he will do because he says it
11:47
is my pleasure to disclose the kingdom
11:49
to those who ask for it alright so this
11:52
is the story for today I hope you
11:53
enjoyed the rest of the day and have a
11:55
good time
11:55
Thanks
