The Lord was contrasting the glory of Solomon to that of the lilies of the field. As glorious as Solomon kingdom was, we learn from Jesus’s statement that his earthly glory wasn’t as magnificent as that of the Lilies of the field ( that is actually short lived). To fully comprehend the thoughts of the Lord, let’s first take a look at Solomon’s glory. The best passage that sums it up is 1 Kings 10: 1-10, the visit of the Queen of Sheba.
