Play 'Achy Breaky Heart' Using Just 2 Chords! Super Easy Beginner Guitar Lesson

Today, I'm going to be teaching you another super easy 2 chord song entitled

AK Breaking Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus. I'll show you how to play both of the chords you need, an easy strumming pattern

and then I'll do a little bit of a play along at the end for you so you can strum along with me and copy what I do

That's coming up. So let's take a look at the chords for the song

We're going to need the A major chord and the E major chord

We'll start off with the A major. Place your index finger on the 2nd fret of the 4th string

Middle finger 2nd fret of the 3rd string. And then place your ring finger on the 2nd fret of the 2nd string

Now strum all your guitar strings except the low E string like this

Great! Now let's move on to the E major chord. To play it, all you need to do is move your index finger over to the 1st fret of the 3rd string

Middle finger 2nd fret of the 5th string. And then move your ring finger down to the 2nd fret of the 4th string

Now strum all of your guitar strings starting from the low E string

all the way down to the high E string like this. Right! Now that we've learned the chords, we're going to learn the strumming pattern

For the entire song, the strumming pattern is just alternating down and up strokes like this

1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4

Let's try playing this through together 4 times slowly. So get ready by fretting your A major chord now

I'll count us in and you'll join in with me. And 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4

Nice! Okay now you understand the strumming pattern, let's try putting it all together by playing the song

I will play the intro, then the verse and then finally the chorus

And I want you to try playing along with me. Don't worry if you struggle to keep up with the chord changes at first

Just stick with it, keep trying and you will get it. I'll also play it a little bit slower too so it's easier to keep up
