U.S. Naval Forces Central Command - Expeditionary combat force, Task Force (TF-56), conduct a series of training exercises to maintain readiness and interoperability between Mark VI patrol boats and other assets in the Arabian Gulf/Persian Gulf. The Mark VI patrol boat is inline to augment and replace the fleet of Riverine Command Boats (RCB). It has much more fire power than the RCB with two stabilized, remote-operated, optically guided MK 50, .50-caliber Gun Weapon Systems; two MK 38 Mod 2 (25mm) Gun Weapon Systems (also remotely operated with an advanced optics system); and two crew-served .50-caliber machine guns.
