Hello, my name is Nimsabungi and I'm the Pastor of Freedom Czar

and member of the Evangelica Alliance here in the Tottenham Town Hall. In Matthew chapter 18 verse 23 to 35, Jesus tells the parable of the unforgiven servant
0:20
illustrating the powerful effects unforgiveness can have in all our lives. A verse reads
0:25
and his Lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors till he should pay all that was due unto him
0:31
So there are four points that come to mind here. The first is the weight of unforgiveness
0:37
In this parable, the servant owes a debt he cannot pay. His master's anger leads to torment
0:43
an image of unresolved consequences. Sometimes in life, past wrongs linger weighing on us
0:49
Unforgiveness can feel like a debt we cannot settle, tormenting our very hearts
0:53
Second thing is God's forgiveness. You see, God forgives what we cannot repay
0:58
The power of our minds is of divine mercy that is greater than human failure C Lewis Rons wrote And the third is the call to forgive others
1:13
We're all called to extend forgiveness to those who trespass or hurt us
1:17
And to hold on to resentment only prolongs our own suffering. Forgiveness does not erase the past, but releases us from its grip and restores peace
1:25
Finally, forgiveness brings freedom Forgiveness allows our hearts When we forgive to mirror God's mercy
1:34
And transform torment into healing Our lives can reflect peace rather than bitterness
1:39
And a freedom from resentment, anger and animosity So let us pray
1:44
God of mercy, teach us to forgive As you forgive others Release us from the depths of anger and resentment
1:52
And fill our hearts with peace and grace Amen
