0:45
welcome to the live stream it's great to be back here with you after a break of
0:50
last week so I hope you enjoyed that little bit of intro to with Antarctica
0:55
uh so here we go for the next 60 minutes we're going to be answering loads of question questions as many as I possibly
1:01
can do in the next have to just muted myself there so
1:08
um just a reminder if you do have a question please do write the word question because it helps me uh check
1:15
the questions and so on uh lots of questions coming in so I will do a quick uh intro around the crews that I just
1:23
backed from just to sort of set the scene and then I'll get stuck into questions remember you can be asking anything about cruising Expedition
1:29
cruising uh and we'll get to answer it so I just want to show you something very quickly so um I showed it before uh
1:38
a thing called The Globe which is a soon to be launched free resources coming from the guys who
1:44
do the cruise Maps there but I just want to show you because I've just added my most recent Cruise so it's an online
1:49
thing as I mentioned it's free it has all my cruises roughly from uh I think it's about 2014 2015 there um and then
1:57
they all show up there then if I click my recent Cruise which is silver Endeavor so you'll see this is the rout
2:04
went Arena Stanley South Georgia then we went down to the antartic peninsula you'll see flashing up there that's when
2:11
I did the Atty before but this is really cool I realized you could do this before but if I then zoom in on GD Vicken or on
2:18
South Georgia which is where uh we spent a couple of days on the gru you can see bizar thing there we were there
2:24
overnight so it picks up the ship moving around but then what's really cool grit viin is by the way where there was a big
2:29
wailing station and also where shackleton's grave is but I just realized that you can zoom in on the
2:36
globe and you can actually see the whole landscape uh and where the ship actually went to which is pretty cool um so so
2:44
I'm probably doing this very well and then down there you can sort of see where was with L Lal where we were doed
2:51
and a little bit further back uh over here is where we were with the ship this time and then you can sort of see the
2:58
whole um place you visit and then if I go to the ne a different Cruise click on that and it'll Zoom me out and take me
3:04
to there so um I just want i' show you that so you can see where I went to um just reminded though if you do want to
3:10
sign up for the globe it's completely free um but you can then add all your cruises so that's the it's the cruise
3:16
globe.com it's not launched yet but they will let it release to people as it comes available what's really cool like
3:23
you can see literally I've got back from my cruise I can see where the cruise went and it's really good fun just reminding myself Etc of where I went so
3:31
let's get stuck into the questions um so here's a really good uh question from
3:37
Megan I like this new layout by the way that um C streamyard have introduced so Megan ask the question when you're on
3:42
trips like Antarctica or trips to Alaska and there's lots of wildlife is it worth
3:47
investing in a decent camera or binocular or can you get quite close and it's quite interesting Meg because I've
3:53
just um written I just written the script and everything for um my first of
4:00
a series of videos that I'm doing and I do talk a little bit about this because I actually strongly recommend that you
4:05
get a good camera but there's there's one slight get out there is many um of
4:11
the excuse me many of the Expedition trips uh lines will include in the fair
4:16
a package of photographs and a video which is by an onboard photographer and
4:22
videographer now silver SE for some bizarre reason just scrap that
4:28
literally days before we went on this trip so we didn't get a package of photographs and video and I think it's a
4:33
real big Miss because most people on this trip were using an iPhone now when you watch my videos so I have one coming
4:39
out which is um actually a vlog I've done which will uh be coming out the
4:45
week after next um I've finished it and in fact people patrons and members have seen most of that um but you'll see some
4:51
what I think are pretty amazing Wildlife shots which are zoom and I've just used not a massive Zoom uh I do have a camera
4:59
with a big Wonder M lens but I and I use a little bit with some of the whales but got a a Sony RX camera which has a
5:05
pretty good zoom but I was able to get closeup stuff lots of people with iPhones just didn't get that because
5:10
although you get some zoom on the iPhone like particular the iPhone 15 16 and whatever the couldn't be I do think you
5:17
need a camera with a good zoom however if you don't go that far do check if you get that package of photographs so for
5:23
example Seaborn does it I think Quark does it a few others do it so that kind of means that you don't have that stress
5:28
of that but B obviously great um as well many of the Expedition trips will include binoculars so for example we had
5:35
binoculars in our cabin I think when I went on Pont you had the same thing but if you really want to get some of those
5:41
great shots and particularly with things like Wales now if you're going to the Arctic uh you know ships have to stay
5:46
500 meters away from polar bear and they have to pull back now so you do need
5:52
some kind of good thing to to really see those um so hopefully that's answered your question so I know some people on
5:59
the trip with with me who saw some of the photographs Stu they and they only taking photographs with um iPhone they were like oh we probably need to we do
6:05
this again have a better camera but you don't need to get a really expensive big 400 milliliter 4 M 4 millimeter one see
6:12
the world good to see you here again which lines would you recommend to do a Patagonia Cruise especially see the
6:18
Chile and Fs um so there are many lines that do that so I would really look at a
6:24
line that you enjoy so I have done that um particular itinery on Holland America
6:30
onam and at the same time we were doing that there was a Viking ship doing that there was also a from the UK there was
6:37
actually a saga ship doing that interestingly enough uh but also I know princess do it and a few other lines do
6:43
it as well I've actually booked for 26 uh almost a full Circ if you know in
6:49
terms of this in fact you can see here just realize on this Cruise map here you can see when we did it all that was the
6:55
thing I did on on the um on the USA but I I I've chosen H America again and I'm
7:00
doing full bonus Aries all the way around and eventually goes uh up through Peru and stuff so I can go to matchu
7:07
Picchu and ends up um eventually back in for gordale so uh I and they all do a
7:14
pretty good job at it the thing I liked about Holland America and probably Viking as well is they have a lot of
7:20
enrichment so we learned a lot about the area they had fantastic speakers and I think if you go there you kind of need
7:26
that and they also had really good commentary when we did that Chile and fud's uh Scenic cruising they project
7:33
put commentary out and I'm sure things like Viking would do so I would look for something that has probably pretty good
7:40
enrichment Sarah little asking the question so Sarah sorry you know the little question rud because you asked
7:45
the question then put it with question thank you is we provid on the chter flights between Santiago and pu Williams so just to let you know um what Sarah's
7:53
asking is with the FL trip that has on which is silver se you meet in Santiago
7:59
now I know other Cruise Lines will meet in buos series but all these Expedition trips tend to start in some like
8:04
Santiago buos series because of course you got connections coming in lots of flight options also the hotels and so on
8:10
so we had a chter flight now the so the short answer to your question is yes um there was there was food it was pretty
8:17
basic food uh so we had a choice of like a vegetarian dish or a chicken dish and
8:23
they had little um like crackers with cheese and they had some little dessert
8:28
type things as well well um but the way actually it works there if you are doing if you are because I'm guessing since
8:35
you're asking San P Williams you're doing the chter flights on Silver sea you actually do that in two phases so
8:41
from you go on a a larger plane from Santiago down to penus you then um go
8:48
from the bigger plane into three separate planes with Antarctic Airlines which then uh so you get SP to three
8:54
flights which then go from penes to putto Williams and when you come back you do three to to P Rus and so on uh
9:01
because the the runway pter winds cannot take big planes so it has the smaller planes so you actually break it up into
9:07
two now the flight between puter Williams and pu renes is pretty short so you don't get any food on that way it's
9:14
like a 45 minute flight or so but it's worth taking kind of some snacks along so for example our flight coming back
9:20
was very severely delayed we about an hour and a half two hours to lay was sitting on the plane for like two hours because of some bit of equipment they
9:26
needed um and we didn't get sered food were quite late um so that you know you might want have a few few snacks couple
9:33
of people on the flight had snacks and they were like people was pleading for for snacks um
9:40
Warren are you concerned that the window for Antarctic expedition is closing now
9:45
that is why you're doing so many trips now so in in I guess you're talking about with the with the evolution and of
9:51
climate change and the change there I mean I think that's although undoubtedly there's change coming I think it's even more dramatic in the Arctic I mean we
9:57
did have some talks around the impact in Antarctica um but it's still some time away before it is a dramatic impact um
10:05
so yes I think it's concerning that unless they find a way of stopping the oceans particularly one of the big
10:12
challenges to anartica is the ocean is warming and that has massive impact on particular the Krill uh which is the
10:19
fundamental food that feeds all the whales and the seals and Penguins and if
10:24
the Krill as a Krill declines uh that has a massive impact and obviously
10:29
there's other warming issues there so that you know keeping the ocean cold is
10:35
really important and particularly the way that the this for those who don't know around Antarctica basically it has
10:40
its own sort of circular cold water uh
10:46
you know that b slushes around and that's warming up and that has big big impacts so yes I am I mean why I do so
10:53
many trips now is because it's just so phenomenal and I sort of said to myself this is the third time I've been and I
10:58
wouldn't go again I tell you I really want to go again and I have to find a way of finding the outrageous amounts of
11:04
money somehow uh mman hi good to see you Mike and Carrie um was just on a flight
11:10
where someone became a million mile was wondering with all of your travel in your professional career and then
11:15
traveling now have you crossed that threshold I I don't know if I've become a million mile I need to look at that
11:21
but what I the plus side is is I'm uh I mostly travel ba uh although in my
11:27
corporate days we I had a travel on either United or virgin based on what Johnson Johnson had kind of was the
11:34
preferred flyer but the advantage with all that travel is I have become what's called permanent gold so I'm a high
11:40
status onba uh which and I don't get tier points every year to keep that status so it does also mean that I get
11:47
things like no matter what type um uh you know Fair I've booked I can choose
11:52
seats straight away I I'm normally at the front of the queue in terms I'm always group one to board so it's quite
11:58
good if you are in economy or something you've got bags you know you're going to get on first to find that valuable space
12:04
uh but also I'm I'm always normally at the more at the top for upgrades as well so I'm permanent gold there is a one
12:10
slightly high I've discovered where they actually have boarding uh group zero now
12:15
on ba and I don't know what I have to do to get there but I guess they're probably the million mile but I must actually look because ba does have a
12:21
grid of the the mileage things H here which is great welcome home um Keno's
12:26
cruising looking forward toar about your experience um hi K here which is great lots of
12:32
people said that you know I don't those I don't who followed me if you did follow me on Instagram posted lots of
12:38
stories um I did post to patrons a daily update um with lots of photos and it was
12:43
interesting a lot of people saying like hi had said is you know the problem with it is it sort of made a lot of people
12:49
want to go to Antarctica which is really bad news for one's bank balance but I tell you anotic is just unbelievable and
12:57
there were people on that trip that had had been there um you know that follow me and they' heard me talk about that and they were
13:03
like I understand why you're saying that once you're there nothing nothing can
13:08
can prepare you for being in Antarctica you know surrounded by these thousands of penguins you know hundreds of
13:14
thousands of penguins and the seals and just the the beauty of the place and hopefully that's why I'm going to launch
13:20
the the Vlog although Vlogs don't do massively well for me in terms of views but I think it really just brings alive
13:26
then I'll get into I've got more of the tip stuff coming uh Christie are you able to do laundry or utilize a washing
13:32
machine on a cruise I was just wondering because my parents going a 16-day cruise to Hawaii soon thank you for sharing your videos thank you for watching so
13:39
chrisy it depends on the cruise line you're on so for example I was just off on Seaborn on their expedition ship they
13:46
had a cruise laundry yeah they had a laundry for passengers which had six machines and
13:52
six dryers you know if you go on something like kunard they have most decks will have a laundry or maybe one
13:59
two decks if you go on Silver SE they have one on most decks and so on so a lot of it depends on the cruise line so
14:06
depending on what cruise line they're going on but many of them will have a guest laundry uh but not all will have
14:13
them so I can't and need be careful saying what has and what hasn't so I think for example when I was on
14:18
Norwegian I think they don't have if I remember correctly so I was used sending away for laundry but obviously you can
14:24
send away for laundry which can be quite pricey my little tip for them is if the
14:29
cruise line doesn't have a guest laundry uh why don't get them to speak
14:36
to their cabin Steward and ask them if they ever do the one bag for a cheap
14:43
price promotion so particularly on these longer Cruisers they will often do a thing where you'll have one bag you know
14:49
the laundry bag and you'll be able to fill it with as many items you want some of them cap at like 15 items or 20 items
14:55
and they have a set price which is normally a pretty good price and they'll sometimes run the a couple of times during a cruise so I will sometimes use
15:02
those if they don't have uh you know a special offic that Norwegian example for example I use that bag I think was under
15:08
10 CR I want to do some laundry so I waited for that promotion check on like Kev Stewart um also I you know like for
15:14
example was greater on the silver sea trip which is an 80 night trip is I didn't have to use the laundry because
15:19
since Royal Caribbean merg there Royal Caribbean their celebrity and their silver sea you they kind of match the
15:26
status I could get the status now on Silver even though I haven't been on Silver seed that much which me I got free
15:32
laundry so but I'm guessing probably they haven't if they're going in it often you might find check their Suite
15:38
as well if they if they're going in a suite often that will include laundry so kind of check some of those kind of
15:44
priorities and stuff as as well but uh it very much depends on on the ship
15:50
Megan doing a follow-up question I don't do this um should you CHP your rooms St to the beginning of a trip so the end to
15:56
get good service a lot of people swear by this I don't um but I know a lot of people do absolutely swear by the idea
16:04
of giving the room Steward a tip at the beginning so they know they're getting now of course many Cruise Lions nowadays
16:09
include gratuities not all do um so I don't and I tend to only tip at the end
16:16
if I've had good service because nowadays you know for example when that's on this trip now it's really
16:22
expensive trip gratuities were included so then I only to you know if it's been really good service um um which I maybe
16:30
it's the British part in me a little bit so let's see L's here Cherry's here
16:36
which is great um Andrew here Monica here ah Diana and Andrew calling or
16:42
ports oh on Norwegian Prima just embarked yesterday feel for the ship do you have a favorite secret spot on board
16:48
to recommand quiet place to work so uh I was obviously on Viva which is the sistership so for those who don't know
16:54
calling a ports is a YouTube they have a YouTube channel um uh f quite a lot on sort of the more luxury end so it's be
17:01
inter to see your take on Norwegian Prima for example um I quite like the ship so let's think fa you know my
17:07
favorite spot in reality I really loved the you know the the food food it's
17:13
called now the food C where you could order of iPads I love that as a spot but that's definitely not a quiet place to
17:19
work I didn't find a quiet place to work I worked in my cabin uh when I was on
17:26
that trip and the downside I guess with Norwegian Prima the way it's l us got
17:31
all these lots of little kind of venues dotted around a lot of people would use that Atrium area although it's
17:37
definitely not a quiet spot um I did actually you know in the Starbucks just
17:43
behind the Starbucks there's some seating behind there which you get a nice view out into the ocean or whatever
17:49
I would sometimes go and sit there and do stuff but it's not particularly quiet but I hope you have a great time on Norwegian Prima uh really to know what
17:56
you think of the ship I personally liked it but was Finding Norwegian dards found it a little bit too different that new
18:03
class of ship Sher asking the question um what percentage of passengers do you
18:10
think got seasick when you hit those high seas so we actually for those who don't know we had um we were chasing a
18:17
storm at one point really between uh the Forkland of South Georgia we we headed off early to a day early to go straight
18:25
passage because they were projecting we in seven eight meter things I don't think it was particularly High Sherry
18:30
and I think the reason for that was because people got a little bit of climatized because we started off
18:37
going from Ponto Reas across to the Forkland it wasn't that b b it maybe two
18:42
three meters waves and then people kind of got used to the bigger ways we had probably between four meter ways when we
18:48
were heading down the advantage of the storm was behind us so the ship was doing more that than the kind of the Rolling side so we had pretty rough Seas
18:55
so I didn't see ber weren't deserted you know all of the um the one of the talks
19:01
were a little bit quieter but you because you could watch the talks in the cabin but you know the lunch was always busy the dinners were always busy the
19:08
evening briefings were always busy so I didn't think there was particularly high percentage I think on the the first day
19:15
crossing the second day Crossing Drake Passage I think people probably felt it a bit more because there was quite a lot of movement and we were doing more of
19:20
the side movement but I think it was probably quite a small percentage I would basically L of people disappeared
19:26
I would say it's maybe you know people been feeling really sick I would assume it's quite a small percentage maybe
19:32
around 10% I mean some people we did a Bridge tour for example one one day and we were really moving around a lot and I
19:40
think we started the tour with maybe 15 20 people and quite soon you know when down was about eight of us left and
19:46
people just were just were just fleeing um so there just REM write the word
19:52
question if you do have a question I because I don't want to miss those um I don't know the answer off hand to this
19:59
um how long is a Visa in New Zealand Australia I know I had an Australian Visa or Esa their equivalent which we
20:06
got for a trip last year I know I could use it again when I went back in July
20:11
but I don't know literally just I would just that's when I would just check on the the side I'm afraid I can't uh I
20:19
don't know the answer that um and it's always safer to double double check those um Monica has been on thuga travel
20:26
I haven't heard of them I's have a look at those uh those and see what they are
20:32
like I'm GNA take a slug of
20:37
this John has a question how would you compare Viking versus Oceania for ocean
20:43
Cruisers we've taken four Viking Cruisers having none on Oceania so don they are in some ways
20:51
fairly similar because they're sort of in the same category they're in that sort of small ship luxury category they
20:57
both would they you know they focus on enrichment I would say Viking enrichment is significantly better than on Oceania
21:05
they do have a guest speaker or two but in fact pretty much every ocean trip it's been the same person they have a
21:11
vast Bank of talks I think she say something the speaker they something like 200 different talks um whereas on
21:18
Viking they'll tend to have more Regional specialist so I would say if you're very into enrichment Viking is
21:23
probably stronger Oceania I would say overall their food is stronger probably
21:29
not as strong as they think it is versus Viking but you have obviously you have more depending on what ship you go on
21:34
you have a wider choice of included specially dining now what's really important about Oceania is Viking
21:41
obviously have one class of ship now I know they launch a slightly bigger ship but the layout is exactly the same so
21:47
every Viking ocean ship you go on is exactly the same in Oceania they have two broad classes they've got the RASS
21:54
ships so you've got things like Insignia rata Serena which are the small they're pretty old ships uh which were built I
22:01
guess was in the 80s or something like that um and they are the same ships as asamara have they're pretty old ships I
22:07
mean they're nicely maintained but they are kind of small ship 700 passengers uh size then you have the
22:13
1,250 passenger uh Marina and Riviera and then you have the new ones which are
22:19
coming which is Viva and Allura which are slightly smaller 1,200 but basically it's the same layout
22:25
and the experience is quite different so what which ship you choose does have a different experience you have much more
22:32
choice of dining experience so so obviously if you go on those uh Marina Riviera Vista Etc they are bigger than
22:41
you're going to be used to on Viking which I think is 900 that's about 1,200 uh so it's slightly more people um you
22:48
have fewer inclusions as well so an Oceania for example you're not going to have your wine and beer and meals uh you
22:56
know depending where you book for example I know if I book a viking in the UK goodes are included I think I'm right
23:02
saying in the US they're not included because people always picked me up on that one um oani have has depending
23:08
again where your book has a shorter uh time you have to pay the final payment but they are sort of the same you'll
23:15
find on Oceania um you know it's it's probably a more adventurous crowd I find
23:21
you know B King is great I found it a little bit more cautious if you like in in in in its overall kind of experience
23:30
um but ocean are probably a little bit more adventurous a little bit younger not massively younger but they are kind
23:36
of similar but I think um if you're looking for a less uh you know I find
23:43
Viking relatively it's not formal I can't think the right word I don't want to say the word stuffy because it's not
23:48
stuffy it's a little bit more serious if you like ocean is a little bit more lighter the entertainment is probably a little bit better on Oceania um so they
23:56
are kind of the same different if you know what I mean um and people who move from
24:04
Viking uh I find they kind of more mixed when they go to Oceania in in reality um
24:10
I I like Oceania I probably lean a little bit more towards Oceania than Viking um just because I like I you know
24:19
I just like it's a slightly more relaxed environment dress code all that kind of stuff is very very similar uh David has
24:27
a question around Antarctica we're looking to go to Antarctica in the new in the next year
24:33
which klam would you recommend please David and Louise so I will dive in my updated an videos in this in a little
24:41
bit more detail but certainly I personally I've been on you know a lot
24:46
of it depends on budget let me just say that for a start all of them are going to be quite costly but um I do still
24:52
lean very much towards silvery um because silvery of being an
24:57
expedition Expedition ships for a while they have a very strong Expedition team a very
25:04
strong set of Captain so you can really see on this trip where we had lots of weather related and Ice related issues
25:10
just the understanding of the captain and the Expedition team with their experience down there they made sure every day we had incredible experience
25:16
so I do lean a little bit towards silver sea Seaborn obviously a little bit newer um but they have very nice ships so
25:23
they're a good option if you want to stay in the luxury side you've got Viking however my only caution with Viking liking is you know you want to
25:30
stay ideally with ships that have 200 passengers or you know fewer than 200 passengers because many of the best
25:36
sides in Antarctica will only allow 200 people you know in either in a day or in
25:42
a morning or an afternoon with 100 people on land people off so actually that on a ship like uh you know Viking
25:48
which carries more than 200 passengers or H gr which carries more than 200 passengers you're more slightly more
25:54
limited in where you can go so you want to stay with ships fewer than 200 if you Poss possibly can obviously you you find
26:00
if you go to hood G and some of those other they become more affordable so it's kind of balancing those two things
26:06
now um I would also include to look at is Quark Expeditions which have huge
26:12
experience they are per a little bit more serious if you like um in terms of
26:17
their approach to Expedition just in terms of you know they they they they focus much on the Expedition not to say
26:23
the ships aren't luxurious and the food isn't good and stuff but they kind of they you know Sil would offer you a
26:29
strong kind of onboard experience and a strong Expedition quak could kind of push even more the Expedition side and
26:35
if you want to go even the next stage you've got kind of a Lind blat National Geographic so I would those are the ones
26:41
that I would lean towards now I've also been there on Pont which are fantastic but you need to accept you're going to
26:46
have more French passengers uh and you know French is kind of the lead the lead language now there are more affordable
26:52
options and I'm doing some work with or be doing some work with po um uh po
26:59
polar regions um who specialize in the area and I'm going to do a much more
27:04
Deep dive into the different options a lot of people obviously ask me like you know a silver sea a Seaborn you know quk
27:09
is out of my price range I want to go down do more Expedition experience and I want to do that I'm assuming that you're
27:15
talking about doing an expedition you can obviously do a sale buy which lines like col America
27:22
Norwegian you know Viking Oceania will do sale buys with you won't do any LS but if you possibly can to anarctica one
27:28
of the lines where you can do Landings would be an absolute absolute
27:34
must CP you're doing the Queen Mary 2 Christmas Cruise which is fantastic I've done that two maybe three times would
27:41
you say well watching trip in Ros Dom is worth booking I haven't done the well watching trip and I'm not sure to be
27:46
honest with if that's a well watching time we've always done more of the champagne snorkeling side um or we've
27:55
done an RB Boat Trip which goes down the coast and then goes Inland and you call
28:00
in some places you go to where the old kind of um roses lime Factory was and
28:05
stuff like that and gone into some local Villages so I haven't done the whale watching trip and I'm not sure to be
28:11
honest um if it's now whale watching time so I would probably just do a double check that that is a good time to
28:18
be doing well watching if not definitely um take a look at um either that
28:24
champagne snorkling if that's your thing or the RB one was really really good good fun and it was kind of mixture of
28:29
some high spe spills uh we we actually managed to get into the water at some
28:35
point and we went to some local Villages went to the areas where because for those you don't know it's kind of it's
28:41
It's kind of there is kind of I guess a volcano there so the champagne thing is where air is escaping but you go to some
28:48
of the beaches and they're warm and they created the sort of like little most hot tub areas because the sea is actually warm uh from being heated from un from
28:56
underneath um Andrew we are considering a Japan Cruise
29:01
would you recommend a port intensive Cruise or a fewer Port Cruise plus land St so Andrew I will put a link I'll try
29:07
and make a note for myself um of my Japan video um in this so I'll try and
29:14
get that in uh you know five or so minutes after this ends because I dive into this in more detail um so I mean
29:22
ideally what I would I mean I although some people who know Japan maybe even
29:27
better than I do lean towards the do the the landay side I do think particularly if it's the
29:33
first time in Japan uh and you don't know if you're ever going to go back I would focus on the port intensive cruise
29:39
but I would try and make sure that you build in some pre or post day time so I
29:45
when I went to Japan last time the first time I went we didn't have any pre or post because we went out of Hong Kong so
29:50
I would definitely do it so you fly out of go to Japan when I went last time I had three days but in reality it was
29:55
only two days I'm actually going back to Japan in February uh so the cruise starts in Japan um but it's only there's
30:03
one or two stops in Japan and it's actually into Shanghai and stuff but I'm actually made sure I've spent four days in Tokyo beforehand um which gives me
30:10
time to spend more of Tokyo but also with the um shinen if I pronounced correctly the bullet train you can do
30:17
amazing day trips you can actually for example do a day trip on the bullet train you can either do them yourself or
30:23
do things like vour we can go all the way to Kyoto because there a couple of hours on the bullet train spend you know
30:29
day in Kyoto come back in the evening on the bullet train so you can also get to some of the iconic places as well on the
30:34
bullet train in fact I talking to a lady recently we've been toing and throwing who uh does a lot of talks on cruise
30:40
ships on Japan spends time in Japan she bases herself um I think near Kyoto but
30:46
talks about how she does a lot of those sort of exploration on the day trip so I would kind of if possibly can build in a
30:52
couple of days pre or post day now some cruise lines like when I went to Regent they actually had a package which you
30:58
could do with some exploration um but that would be my that would be my tip I think the P tens is great because you
31:05
see so much of it in particular you go all the way all the way all the way around if you possibly can so Le
31:12
here uh Nancy now I'm not a huge expert um on uh New Zealand because I have only
31:21
done a part of New Zealand cruising but I'll tell you what I thought was quite magnificent is obviously going to the
31:28
capital uh Oakland was really interesting I found that really fascinating uh spending time just
31:35
Colonial architecture and the museum there incredible Museum uh the hop on
31:40
off bus work really well they had a great aquarium so I found that was fantastic we then also went uh to well
31:47
we went not long after the there had been the the the earthquake so we actually went to I'm trying to remember
31:53
the name of the P aora um and then went to to uh
31:58
Wellington and stuff and that was incredible then we also did some sailing through Milford Sound which is sort of
32:05
their FS thing now you know th those are sort of I think many of the hotpots that
32:10
that people kind of call call on um you know so and looking at when I look at
32:17
most of the cruises know many go of Sydney for example they seem to tick those boxes and I keep looking at those
32:23
itineraries but I'm not a massive expert so I'm sure other people here are um going to be able to pick up what uh what
32:31
what what that is Betty doesn't like me until I do talk very fast so thanks for
32:37
reminding me um that I talk I do talk very fast uh so let's have a
32:45
look Susan M welcome home Gary excited to be arriving in London from Canada on
32:50
Wednesday for a couple of weeks first time in December anything you recommend that I not miss so Susan I actually do
32:57
have I'm actually going to put that um it's a little it's a relatively old video but it hasn't changed but I do
33:02
have a video uh which talks about the top 10 things to do in London so I might
33:09
pop that there and that might be worth looking at so I'm not sure how long you're going to be in town but obviously
33:17
you know some of the and think about weatherwise obviously London is quite christmy so the OA Street and the region
33:24
street lights is a big focal point at this time of year uh I also uh you know make sure that you
33:31
watch things like the change of the guard at bingan Palace unfortunately it's closed because you only go through that in you know in summertime uh if you
33:38
begin into museums uh you know the Tate modern which is quite nice further down
33:44
is really with going to the VNA is a really good Museum to go to uh other museums that I really like if you are
33:50
interested is um you know there The Maritime Museum in Greenwich is very
33:56
fascinating uh the uh the um the war museum uh is also amazing if you want to
34:03
do some more uh tourist Focus things the Tower of London has a very nice you can
34:09
go see the crown jewels which is great this time of the year is probably not manically busy because of the tourist
34:14
that t of London is fascinating the history is fascinating the you seen the beef Fe is fascinating there's the
34:20
London Eye as well which is very popular where you get to see uh you know the
34:26
houses of Parliament now you probably a little bit too late but you can do tours of the house of parliament which are
34:32
fantastic now we want to take because my mom uh my my sister and Mark's mom are
34:38
coming to stay the weekend next weekend and a couple of weeks ago we thought about taking them on that particular
34:44
Excursion but it's it books out really F of us but tour the house of parliament is great one of the fun things to do
34:50
although it's going to be a little cold in December to be honest is you're jumping on the hop on off bus and heading up but it's probably a little bit cold at this time of year um um and
34:58
going to coven Garden is also fun as sort of couple of Christmas markets very Christmasy around there now if other if
35:06
you want to do some other things going to theater is obviously good it's very expensive pantomime is a big UK
35:11
Tradition now I don't Canada of pantomimes a thing but you know looking to go to one of the pantoes is always
35:16
really good fun um I know some Americans don't quite understand in Canada they might with slightly more British link
35:23
Min understand pantomim a little bit more in fact last night we also went by the way to see AB Voyage which is a
35:29
which was quite remarkable so for those who don't know it's um it's in sort of the east side of lond it's actually near
35:34
where the Olympic Olympics were held and it's a purposeful venue it holds 3,000
35:40
people and they have these sort of avatars these 3D things of ABBA and it's a concert it has a 10piece uh band with
35:48
you know three singers seven musicians and then Abba effectively are performing these sort of avatars and incredible
35:53
screens that's really good fun as well if you're a big Abba fan um so that might be easy to get some of those
36:00
things in terms of tickets those are probably the things that but I will put that down there as well some of the
36:06
things are a little bit more summer summer Focus so maybe five minutes after the site uh after this ends then I will
36:13
um I will will add that in uh let's have
36:18
a look lots of discussion lot of discussion around um serving and not
36:24
serving that's become a really hot topic by the way um this is about being served or not served in the buffet so
36:32
uh a little bit back to the ocean discussion because ocean always used to serve you and I've seen some discussion where now people are serving themselves
36:39
so so that is uh that's definitely a big issue Jay has a question with non-
36:46
cruise excursions guaranteed ship returns has it affected overpriced Cruise excursions great show thank you very much no I mean the cruise Lin
36:54
excursions are still the same price as they were so they take a big kind of markup so I haven't I haven't seen uh
37:00
any evidence or read anything that cruise price excursions are coming down
37:06
um so for those those who aren 100% sure what Jay is referring to so obviously what the cruise lines will do is if you
37:12
book one of The excursions they can be a little bit pricey but they will guarantee that the ship will wait now
37:19
the ship may not wait if it has to leave but theoretically they will wait but if they do have to leave because there's a
37:24
problem and the cruise can't get back the tour can't get back they will make sure that they then get you to at their
37:31
cost and their arrangements to to join up now normally they will try and wait for you but a couple of companies like
37:37
Venture Shaw who I partner with on my group cruise to do some excursions think Shaw excursions group they will
37:43
guarantee that if they they will get you back to the ship if they don't at their own cost they will organize an arrange for you to get and join up the ship and
37:50
they can be significantly you know up to half the the amount of price um so they're always worth looking at um so
37:58
um but I haven't seen anything but I will keep an eye out for that certainly one of the things I have seen Jay is the
38:03
cruise lines all because I follow and read all their reports every cordal reports they are talking about how the
38:08
onboard spend has increased significantly way above inflation because people are spending more so that
38:14
sort of I feel like with them pushing up gratuities with them pushing up drinks packages I'm assuming that cruise
38:21
excursions are going the same the same way let me a little slurp here
38:30
how do you balance your time spend on photography with the channel taking video pics and taking time for yourself
38:36
to enjoy the experience well um probably terribly is
38:41
the answer so i' I I find that I find it very difficult not to like literally if
38:48
you ever see me on a ship you will find I've always got a camera with me of some some kind uh and I will video Everything
38:56
along the way so because I always want to make sure I've got it whether it's eating something doing a coffee going to
39:01
a talk uh people paying table T whatever it is so I'm probably really bad at that because also what I will do every
39:08
evening because it can get out of hand is every evening then I will also then back up and sort the material and stuff
39:14
so I'm probably quite bad at it but I'm am I love doing it I love uh the photography I love videoing and stuff so
39:21
I sort of bizarrely see that as enjoying myself but I understand the point that you're making I and it's going to be
39:27
very interesting because uh I have a cruise coming up which we will have boarded three weeks yes three weeks on
39:34
three weeks this last Friday so two weeks on Friday which is a 16 night
39:40
Miami to Los Angeles Panama Canal cruise over Christmas so we get the we get to
39:46
Los Angeles before New Year and theoretically that is going to be
39:51
a time for myself vacation with Mark and it's going to be very interesting to see
39:56
where how long that lasts because we're going through Panama Canal I have a lot of footage of going through Panama Canal
40:04
um and uh you know this will be the fourth time third time I've done a full Transit but I will find it very
40:10
difficult not to be videoing everything so so but I come back and I I enjoy my time and I enjoy um the video video for
40:18
me has become part of what I do um what I do do though uh what I started to try
40:23
and do is when I go on a trip I will decide what I'm going to focus on so for example on this Antarctica trip I
40:30
decided that I would focus on the actual experience on land rather than the
40:36
onboard experience so what I found I would do is when I was going out I would
40:42
I would be videoing stuff but I was making sure that I would think about what do I want to cover at this place we are catch the video and then sort of
40:49
spend time just walking around enjoying it but I cut down significantly the amount of time I spent filming on the
40:55
ship for example so I sort of balance that out so as a way of kind of managing that um that that that that that
41:02
experience but probably really badly I mean obviously when I'm going solo uh I
41:08
tend to more that side but at this next trip for example I'm doing with Mark so I suspect there be more uh pressures the
41:16
wrong because it won it won't be a pressure thing but I I'll just want to do more things so we will see how that goes so maybe I'll ask that better after
41:22
next trip which is supposed to be more of a vacation trip Robin we're looking at explore Journeys that ends in Swan
41:27
San pu Rico is a worth booking time post cruise to see more before flying out so
41:32
you're going to be seeing I don't know I'm only expl a lot of people ask me when I'm doing explor Journeys I'm only doing explor Journeys in April so I'm
41:39
really excited when people are going before and they can keep letting me know how they're finding it everyone so far
41:45
has liked it so I don't know if you're doing it before uh April so if you are please let me know now I don't know
41:50
sanan massively well to be honest Robin I've only been there when we've been there for the day so I don't know a lot
41:57
about San Juan so I'd love to know if anybody knows more about San Juan now I feel like people in the past have
42:04
commented around how they like San Juan uh I don't know M well so I'll be really
42:10
Keen to know what what what what people what people think um Journey with Josh I want one of
42:17
those Maps after anarctica 2os yeah ABS absolutely definitely I'm I so I have I
42:23
think I show you so I've got some of them up on the wall I've got few more coming and then I've also got the I think I showed this last time so I've
42:29
also got the cruise Maps uh album and I'm waiting actually I'm waiting for the
42:36
the one for the antartic cruise to come so you've seen this on the globe and I'm waiting now for the one to add so I've
42:42
got these so on this you can put up to 25 probably more actually probably put some other side there so I've got some
42:48
of my sort of so so I'm waiting now for the last one I've got here is the group Crews I did I'm waiting for the anartica
42:55
one so maybe when the anartica ones show you so by the way just a reminder with the maps if you ever are interested in
43:00
the maps like Jen Josh is if you go to if you go to the Cru
43:06
maps.com TFT when you go to checkout you will get 10% off so maybe I should just
43:13
remind it of the quick punt thing here for
43:18
it that was when they sponsored me so yeah the cruise maps.com TFT um you'll get 10% off and they're
43:26
doing some Black Friday deals at the moment as well so that's also you'll get get even even more of from those so
43:32
Robin I can ask your sanan question I'm trying to see if anyone started answering hopefully people will have better uh better answers than I did
43:41
um oh good point Lou thank you Lou for that um this is an issue I found on Viking as well but basically you know
43:48
what happens on Viking and on Oceania is they release things like booking excursions and they release booking
43:54
speciality based on your cabin grade so for example when I went on Viking I learned that the hard way so when I last
44:00
when I went on Viking this past uh June to Alaska and I was in a veranda cabin
44:07
and you was low on the pecking order so I made a point even though I had to St really late UK time to go in with my
44:13
category open so I could get decent dining times and excursions but you're right o it's also really important and
44:21
you only get so you get to go to once now if you are fortunate enough to going in a suite on Oceania you can pretty
44:27
much go multiple times so um you know when I went on uh Vista and I went on a
44:36
Penta Suite I decided a Penta Suite that was one had the awful sound lack of sound proofing I could actually have
44:42
gone to special more more than once now I didn't actually but I could have so but lose right you need so I found the
44:49
same thing on Viking you know it's released based on your category so you do need to be very
44:54
Nifty Ron has a anti a question uh my wife daughter her boyfriend and I are doing Antarctic in January on Silver
44:59
season deor but because they wanted to avoid direct passage we doing their Antarctic Bridge thoughts okay so I
45:06
don't want to be a doom Monga but I just want to do some now you're doing in January so this is not likely to happen
45:12
to you the risk with the um the bridge
45:17
is all of it hinges of course on the ice situation and the weather situation so
45:25
for example the cruise after ours that we got off was due to be an Antarctic Bridge Cruise so the ship was actually
45:32
going to quickly go back um across straight passage and start the uh bridge
45:39
but the people who were on the bridge uh to where told that they were not going to fly into King George Island they were
45:47
going to have to board the ship in pter Williams and cross Drake Passage because the planes could not land in King George
45:54
Island because it was still too too I for planes to land a friend of mine did
45:59
the bridge last year and I try remember when she went uh I think it was earli season but she lost two days of her trip
46:07
because the weather meant the planes couldn't get into King George Island so her trip was shortened by two days now
46:14
the people who were there was lengthened by two days so there is so whilst you avoid Drake Passage which is fine and
46:21
I'm some people want to do that um Drake Passage is I I know it cost Drake Passage three resets of times now and
46:28
okay I I must admit I'm I'm slightly freaky and I I don't get seasick uh to
46:34
date haven't been seasick dra passage is very hyped scarily and what you'll find
46:40
is they can get across faster they can get across earlier and you know some
46:45
they'll delay they build in two days cross track passage but they can do quicker whatever so they often build in
46:50
time so they can cross when it's not too bad so they sort of flex it a bit so every single of the three trips I've
46:55
been on we've always come back slightly earlier uh to avoid Drake Passage problems anyway so a friend of mine did
47:02
the airbridge and she lost some things so so there is that balance because the plan's getting into if and also if the
47:09
winds are very high in PTO Williams the ROM is quite short but the planes could take off but it all hinges what the
47:14
weather is like so if visibility is bad or it's very icy they have a CH so that's the risk now January of course is
47:20
sort of mid Sumer so you're less likely to have the challenge of icy conditions
47:25
but um you know uh and I understand why people do that for me direct passage is fabulous and I like I mean we cross a
47:32
little bit earlier and it wasn't as rough as I hoped it to be but I'm freaky and I know I'm freaky from that perspective so um you know that's the
47:39
only watch out but um direct pass is not as scary as people think I understand people want to avoid doing it but just
47:45
you know bear in mind so you know and silver SE will keep you uh you know up
47:50
up to date on any issues but I would kind of follow what's going what's going on um so so hopefully that that
47:59
helps Randy um what are what are you most looking forward to on the grand
48:04
year besides going through the Panama Canal So Randy um you're right obviously
48:10
Panama Canal is the big attraction so I'm looking this is probably not the answer you expecting but what I'm
48:16
looking forward to is Mark has never been on Regent so um I'm very intrigued
48:24
to see if he likes this that sort of experience so he's obviously a huge fan
48:29
of kod and Kun green Grill specifically um and has been on Seaborn like Seaborn
48:36
we went on Silver SE a long long time like 2013 or something and quite like that but sort of missed the bigger shows
48:43
and the bigger casinos so I'm really looking forward to see whether he likes the smaller ship experience as much as I
48:49
do so that's sort of a more personal perspective from a more kind of cruising
48:55
perspective I'm really intrigued to look and see what they have done to sort of evolve and move that uh sort of
49:03
ship that class of ship forward so I've been on like Explorer and so on that are basically the same sort of layout so I'm
49:09
just Keen to see what they have done to uh to kind of uh evolve it move it
49:14
forwards a little bit um so that's probably what I'm most looking forward to um is there anything else that I'm
49:22
looking for so that's really looking forward to see like how how they've done it um and I am really looking forward to
49:29
I absolutely love the Asian fusion restaurant on region so I hoping I'm
49:36
really looking forward to that um and hoping that it's as good as it should
49:41
be um Warren adding a good point what about Atlas Atlas is uh definitely come
49:47
back those about the question about L do take a look at Atlas because they do offer a more um affordable way of doing
49:53
at Artica and pretty pretty good reviews so um I haven't tried them yet Ken
50:01
special tips no my my my special tip I think I've already said it is you need
50:06
based on what cabin grade you're on can if you're go oania is if if it's released at 800m UK time or midnight UK
50:14
time whatever it is go in when it opens because that's your best chance of getting the best time number one number
50:21
two the minute you get on board go and talk to them about the dining time
50:26
because I did find a little bit more Flex like I found on Regent I I was a bit slow again because Regent also
50:32
release it based on your cabin grade and when I went on um to Japan is I was in
50:39
whatever Deluxe Veranda so it's quite low in the pecking order um so I and I
50:46
didn't go in the minute it opened because it opened at 1:00 am or something like that and I had terrible times uh so in fact I didn't book them
50:52
but the minute I got on board I did the same with o was on bista and on uh uh
50:58
Marina I guess um when I got on board like soon as I got on board I went to see the dining people now they I think
51:04
they have them in the they normally have someone doing dining they have a little station there they also have them if I
51:10
remember correctly in the buffet restaurant which I've forgot my name of on I went straight in there and sort of
51:15
okay try to negotiate better times and I found that you could sort of flex the times quite well certain to my liking
51:22
because I like when I go on CHAS by myself I like to eat really early because easier um give more time to
51:28
explore the ship at night do some work uh and also I feel it's less intrusive videoing
51:34
and stuff but I find they were pretty I found they were pretty good um pretty good from that perspective some more
51:41
thoughts on Viking I mean Viking has a great often I really like the oceani of tea I know most people prefer the Viking
51:48
often in tea like Sher does um but I really do like I like the Oceania one
51:54
they do SL so Viking bring the tear thing Oceana brings trollies around so
52:00
um so that's good I've actually got a video about afternoon tea do anyone drink tea with the pinky in the air no
52:07
um so David good that answered your question
52:12
um Christopher hi there Christopher not sure if it's relevant to this video long-term fan thank you very much doing
52:18
a queen Mar 2 transl in April fantastic someone recently sent me um German lady
52:24
who has a Blog uh that she posted she sent me her most recent review of the trans latic every time I read reviews of
52:31
those I just want to do them again so very envious W drinks package be need for AC nights or is is entertainment
52:37
decent Christopher I find that you know you're going to be spending I think I
52:43
don't traveling solo with a couple but I think I'm right in saying that if you buy the full drinks package it's going to add like about
52:49
$1,000 to your fair which is a lot of drinks so personally you know I know in
52:55
a transatlantic got more opportunities to drink because it's all C days but I I would tend to lean not to get a drinks
53:03
package uh overall now I'm not the greatest person drink package because obviously I don't drink alcohol so but I
53:09
drink kind of non-alcoholic things um but even I tend not to buy the non-al
53:14
drink uh option but it's a lot of drinks but what I would suggest Christopher is
53:19
um there are a couple of online uh drinks package calculators so I know cre
53:26
to is covered by the one on Cru mommy site so cruise.co.uk if you you search
53:32
cruise.co.uk drinks package Google will bring that up and what you do there is you can choose queo choose kunard and
53:39
then just think it gets you to think through how many drinks do you think you will have uh you know per day and it
53:45
will then tell you whether it's worth getting a drinks package or not based on that so that's a quite a good way of
53:51
susing it out I mean the entertainment on Kun not is improving it used to be pretty so so but they are trying to be
53:57
more Innovative um certainly as they you know on Queenland it's much more Innovative more interesting more buried
54:04
they doing that on Queen mury too um but you you know there's certainly there's always things going on you know might
54:11
not be big into the balls they do but it's always ENT to go and watch the balls there'll be entertainment they'll
54:16
be the casino there's always kind of stuff going on in the yach club and uh or up in the uh observation commodo Club
54:24
at the CHP there there's enough kind of going on um and probably probably buying drinks
54:30
ad hoc is probably okay but do that little do that little um calculator because that that will that will H that
54:37
will help Jason now this is interesting because um I haven't heard of Gap travel
54:42
I must have a look up Gap travel but um a few people who follow me on Instagram and such they've booked for example with
54:49
G Adventures which is another value line with and they tend to use stud older
54:54
ships a little bit more rustic ships is probably the wrong way but sort of you know more oldest ships are more
55:01
inexpensive sometimes you can share rooms Etc um so I need to look I'll have
55:06
a look at Gap travel um but you know Jason I would one of the things I would say is you know going to Antarctica if
55:15
you can possibly go to Antarctica and go on an expedition Cruise where you can land it will be incredible so you know
55:24
as long as you know like Gap travel Intrepid I've heard of G Advent these are all reputable Gap I don't know but
55:30
you know if if you can check and make you know these are reputable uh companies um so know entrepr is very
55:37
well known been established for a while uh you know you can look at understanding if they you know they've been around a while they've been doing
55:43
andic for a while you know getting there is phenomenal so and if you know what
55:49
you're going in for you're not going to have NE the fanciest food or whatever it's going to be but the experience
55:55
itself is long want you sure that they have an incredible Expedition team they know what they're doing and they're
56:01
going to do lots they can go to these places you get Landing you fewer than 200 passengers um it will be amazing so
56:09
uh you know that that would be my view it's just absolutely phenomenal so kind of it's almost a case of going there and
56:15
if it it's your budget and you you think the ship looks fine the accommodation looks fine so I've been messaging
56:21
backward fors from someone who's going G Adventures they were going to rec be I think sharing with four people in the room
56:27
they relatively young and they're kind of like I want to go and I can afford this and they've actually now just
56:33
managed to change it this yearing with two people or something like that and I was like do it you're gonna you'll never regret going
56:40
um so let's have a look David look forward to your video on your
56:46
experiences and doing do on your recent antic trip including stavis on your way to Destination Planning to do the same
56:51
Tri oh okay so was less of a question yes so that's coming um so I so so the
56:56
week of the next I'll have my vog um and reason slight reason for the delay in the Vlog is because I refer at the end
57:01
to some of the videos that I haven't made yet so I've recorded the audio they need to be edited so they will come out a little bit more of the dos and don'ts
57:08
as well Church rooms thanks Cherry they they are really fascinating the Church of War rooms which are um just near 10
57:15
Downing Street they are really really interesting that's a great tip thanks
57:20
um any suggestions where bring my sons in the early 20s on Silver Seas on your antartic trip any top likes or dislikes
57:27
back so in terms I'm not sure dve if you're talking about specifically taking your son uh your sons in the early 20s
57:33
on Silver SE to Antarctica so certainly there was on the Antarctic trip there is quite a wide age range so there was a
57:39
couple people in the 20s there that were actually traveling with uh with family and friends there weren't a big group of
57:46
youngsters as it were but what I did notice is there was maybe five or six probably people in their 20s maybe push
57:53
30s they were sort of started to hang out a little bit to together obviously there's no nightclub and stuff but they
57:58
would sort of come to dinner start coming to dinner as often have dinner together maybe have a drink together so
58:04
there's not going to be a lot of socializing there may be no other people that age but you know certainly on an Artica you're so busy anyway the
58:10
evenings are having having something to eat and going to bed because you're up you know many of the days we're out at 7
58:18
7:30 in the morning on you know on Landings so it's not a big evening thing so um and also particularly in antic you
58:25
know the dress code is irrelevant you can wear jeans and a sweatshirt or whatever to dinner so it's not a dress up thing and people are there focusing
58:32
for the Expedition uh so everyone's very focused on that so they will certainly have a great time if you're talking
58:38
silver Seas more generally you know on a more classic Cruise again the Aver is going to be a little bit older if you go
58:45
more summer you know or Christmas time there may be more people kind of of their age
58:51
group but they're not going to have a lot of partying if you like they're looking for more they will find that a
58:57
bit frustrating the dress code on S on the classic is a little bit more I found of if you take a look at Regent Seaborn
59:04
silver sea you know silver sea is the one that's a little bit more on the dressy side so I found I wore my jacket
59:11
more on a silver SE classic Cruise than I would on any of the others so I think on Regent I have been on reg a couple
59:17
regions I've never woron a jacket although on this Crystal one because I've TR Mark probably wear a jacket on Silver SE I felt I needed to wear a
59:23
jacket much more because they are a little bit more more dressy um I hope that answered your question I wasn't
59:29
sure I should be focusing more on the on this the Expedition side um top tips or
59:37
dislikes my biggest dislike about Antarctica is I just want to go again and it's just you know I have to think
59:44
can I possibly afford to go again um likes is just phenomenal everything is
59:49
phenomenal about it just you know and the other thing I would say is um the biggest like about going at Artic is
59:55
have an tiny if you you possibly can that goes to South Georgia South Georgia is the most mindblowing experience in
1:00:03
terms of the volume of wildlife Antarctica is amazing but you don't see the volume of wildlife that you see in
1:00:08
in there so that's probably so that's the biggest the biggest like of all the
1:00:14
wuang life I've been following very much this awful situation in Lao um with the menthal poisoning um I would I I I
1:00:22
haven't seen any other but I would always be always cautious in those kind of Southeast Asian Asian kind of areas
1:00:29
where uh you know there's lots of young people Backpackers looking for
1:00:35
cheap drinks and stuff to me that feels like a hot bed of of uh places to watch
1:00:42
out for I have no data on that at all just it feels to me a little bit that's kind of what you need to do and it l
1:00:48
it's really tell I need to speak to my nephew and because he was living in La for quite a long time uh as as experts
1:00:55
there so I need to I haven't had a chance to speak to him on his uh perspective people leaving some suggestions on San
1:01:02
Juan um so unfortunately um we have turned through time so I haven't uh uh got through all
1:01:09
the questions just want to ask this quick question here Grandma's Grandpa's place yes you can take teenagers on on
1:01:15
Expedition cruises some Cruise Lines will have a rule which says uh you kids
1:01:21
under six can't go on the zodiacs so but teenag is absolutely fine I I've been on on a h lloid we did Canadian AR in
1:01:27
Greenland there was actually maybe 20 teenagers uh maybe it wasn't 20 maybe 15
1:01:33
teenagers so they just need to bear in mind it's a bit hit and miss they may be the only ones on board but um there are
1:01:39
you know pretty much it's um it's it's a rule around you know kids really uh from
1:01:45
from that from that from that perspective right so we have turned through time I will have a look and see
1:01:50
if there's any questions that I've missed I will be back next Sunday with live stream uh but um thanks so much for
1:01:58
joining me hope I answered most of the questions and hopefully I will see you next week take care
