Airbus A321XLR: Proving Its Worth in a 13-Hour Endurance Test Over Europe

The Airbus A321XLR, a groundbreaking narrow-body long-haul aircraft, underwent a rigorous endurance test in December 2022. The plane was flown in a giant loop over Europe for more than 13 hours, including a lengthy period over the Bay of Biscay. This extended flight was crucial to demonstrate the aircraft's capability for long-haul operations and to certify its new fuel system, which is designed to increase its range significantly compared to previous models. The A321XLR is equipped with a heavily modified fuel system that allows it to fly up to 11 hours with 220 passengers onboard.
