The developers at Google like to have fun from time to time
0:04
Over the years, they've introduced many search tricks and Easter eggs, many of which have come and gone
0:09
Coming up, I'll show you 15 of the fun Google tricks that still exist to this day
0:13
We're getting started right now. We're going to start off with a hidden Google secret that's been around for several years, so some of you may know about this one
0:28
In 2010 to celebrate Pac-Man's 30th anniversary, Google brought the 80s classic to its search page
0:34
Just type Pac-Man in the search bar, hit Enter, click to play
0:42
Now you have a Google-Fide version of Pac-Man. The controls are simple
0:46
Just use the arrow keys on your keyboard. Many of you know that you can do simple math right in the search bar
0:55
For more advanced mathematical equations, just type calculator into the search bar
1:04
And now you have a scientific calculator without having to go to any external links
1:09
If you click into the math results bar, you can just use your keyboard for any of the simpler math equations
1:18
When you have a difficult decision to make, flipping a coin is one method that can help you out
1:23
So when you don't have a coin handy, type flip a coin into the search bar
1:31
When you need to flip it again, just click on flip it. To find the distance and flights between two cities, you just type in the name of two cities
1:41
Here's an example. We'll do New Orleans to Dallas. Now you have the flight information from New Orleans to New Orleans to Dallas Dallas And below that you have the approximate driving time which is seven hours or 25 minutes And it approximately 505 miles
2:03
To have your search results appear to be slightly slanted, type askew into the search bar
2:11
As you scroll through the results, you'll see that they're all slightly slanted
2:16
Have you ever wondered what Google search looked like when it first started way back in 1998
2:21
Wonder No More, just type in Google in 1998 in the search bar
2:30
And there you go. To go back to today's look, just click on Take Me Back to the Present
2:37
Now for an old-fashioned simple game of Tick-Tac-Tow, also known as crosses in some areas
2:44
In the search bar, type in Tic-Tac-Tow. Now you should have the playing field for Tick-Tac-Tow on your computer screen
2:56
You can play against the computer in three different difficulties, including easy, medium, and impossible
3:02
Or you can play against a friend while sharing a mouse on the same computer
3:06
Most of you already know how to play this game. For those who have never played, I'll give you a quick demonstration
3:12
You can either play with the X's or the O's. I'll be the X's
3:17
And the goal of the game is just to get three of the X's or O's in a row. It's that simple
3:27
If you need to restart the game, just click on Restart Game
3:32
For this one, type in Super Mario Bros into the search box
3:39
A knowledge graph will appear to the right, along with a flashing question mark block
3:44
which generates 200 points when clicked. If you have the patience and the time you can click on this block 100 times and the one sound will play just like in the video game For this one I show you three tricks that involve using the I Feeling Lucky button
4:03
Depending on your browser, the button may not appear below the search box here
4:08
So I'll show you an alternate way with this first one. Type in Google Space
4:15
In the suggestions box, click on I'm Feeling Lucky. Now you have a space look for Google
4:25
Another one you can try is Google Sphere. So type in Google Sphere in the search box, click on I'm Feeling Lucky
4:35
And the other one is Google Gravity. So type in Google Gravity
4:44
Click on I'm Feeling Lucky. And there you go, a few I'm feeling lucky trips for you
4:56
Here's another odd feature added by Google. If you type in blink
5:03
space HTML, into the search box and hit enter, now both the words blink and HTML will be blinking in the search results
5:13
alternately this also works if you enter the less than symbol the word blink
5:22
then the greater than symbol then hit enter you'll see that just the word blink is
5:28
blinking on the page if you're a fan of the television series Seinfeld like I am
5:34
then you would have heard of the alternative non-commercial holiday called Festivus instead of having a Christmas tree
5:41
they have a Festivus pole Google had fun with this one too
5:45
Type in Festivus into the search bar Now a Festivist shows up on the left side of the page beside the search results A lot of people play the card game Solitaire
5:58
Now you can play it by doing a Google search. So type in Solitaire in the search bar
6:04
Hit Enter. Click to play. There are two modes easy and hard
6:12
If you're a trivia nut or just like learning random historical fun facts
6:16
Then this one is for you. Just type in fun facts into the search bar
6:22
Then hit enter. This one asked the question, Who wrote and sang Ruby Tuesday
6:28
I think we all know the answer to this one. If you want to learn more fun facts
6:32
just click on Ask another question. Here is just more evidence that the developers over at Google
6:39
just might have too much time on their hands. In the address bar, type in Google.com
6:46
forward slash teapot, then head enter. The resulting text is, The requested entity body is shortened stout
6:58
tip me over and pour me out. If you click on the teapot or if you tilt your mobile device
7:04
it'll result in animation of it pouring tea into a teacup. And for the final hidden secret
7:12
we're going to have these search results do a barrel roll. So just type in the search, do a barrel roll
7:27
