0:02
hi it's Lindsay Diane from
0:04
dianecor.com in this video let's talk
0:07
about how to decorate with bath towels
0:10
now there are decorative bath towels and
0:12
then there are decorative storage
0:13
options for bath towels we're going to
0:16
get into the difference between the two
0:18
and then I'm going to share with you 10
0:20
creative ways to decorate with bath
0:22
towels in your home let's get started
0:24
now the difference between decorative
0:27
bath towels and decorative storage is
0:31
that the decorative bath towels were
0:33
very popular maybe 20 30 years ago and
0:37
these were towels that were made of a
0:40
beautiful high quality material they
0:42
often had pretty embroidery or lace trim
0:46
or crochet trim and they were intended
0:49
to be decorative you weren't actually
0:50
supposed to be drying your hands on
0:53
these towels instead they would often
0:55
sit on top of a more functional plain
0:58
towel and that's the one that you were
1:01
intended to use but as a guest in
1:03
someone's home sometimes it could be
1:05
confusing which towels were meant for
1:06
you to use and which towels you were
1:09
just supposed to leave there and look
1:11
pretty moreover if you forgot to put out
1:13
the more functional towel then guests
1:15
were afraid to use that decorative towel
1:18
one because they didn't want to mess it
1:20
up it might have special care
1:21
instructions and two they were often put
1:24
in these beautiful folds or decorative
1:26
bows and once it comes undone they don't
1:29
know how to put it back so instead
1:31
people would just rather not touch it at
1:33
all and so nowadays instead of having
1:37
all of those just nonfunctional things
1:39
in a bathroom we have moved more towards
1:43
decorative storage options so these are
1:46
really beautiful displays for bathroom
1:49
towels that are intended to be used and
1:52
you don't have to worry about confusing
1:54
your guests or having them have to
1:57
decide what they can use and what they
1:59
can't use this way they're all out in
2:02
the open it's clear that they're
2:03
intended to be used and they are easy
2:07
ways for people to sort of put them back
2:09
or maintain the storage so let's jump
2:12
into 10 creative ways to store and
2:15
display your bath towels the first
2:18
option is a blanket ladder now
2:21
traditionally the blanket ladders are
2:23
used in living rooms and you fold over
2:26
some throw blankets there so that people
2:28
can pull them and you know cuddle up on
2:30
the sofa or cuddle up on a chair but
2:32
they're often used in bathrooms as well
2:35
these are really great if you have a
2:38
small space that is taller rather than
2:42
wider right so if you don't have a lot
2:44
of floor space to walk around and your
2:46
wall storage is kind of maxed out
2:48
consider using a blanket ladder to hold
2:52
your towels this will keep them nice and
2:55
neat and organized it will also store
2:58
more towels than a basic towel bar or
3:01
towel rod usually you can get anywhere
3:04
from three to five towels on a blanket
3:06
ladder depending upon its size and the
3:09
best part of it all is that there really
3:11
is not a lot of uh installation involved
3:13
at all um they pretty much just come as
3:16
they are they may come in two pieces
3:18
that you put together and you're just
3:19
going to lean them against the wall
3:21
there are a lot of beautiful rustic wood
3:23
ones if that goes with your interior
3:26
style but there are also nice sleek
3:28
metal ones as well generally a blanket
3:31
letter is going to run you around $30 to
3:33
$80 this is a very simple low stress
3:37
solution you can just fold over your
3:39
towels once hang them over the rungs on
3:42
the ladder and you're done this is a
3:45
really simple solution for keeping your
3:47
towels organized and out and accessible
3:49
for anyone who needs one number two is a
3:52
ladder shelf now this is similar to a
3:55
blanket ladder except if a blanket
3:58
ladder is more akin to like an extension
4:00
ladder that just has the side rails on
4:04
it and the rungs a ladder shelf is more
4:08
like a A-frame ladder right this is
4:11
something that's going to look
4:12
triangular in profile and it's going to
4:15
have shelves the bottom one is going to
4:17
be the deepest where sort of the bottom
4:19
rung of a ladder would be and then
4:22
they're going to get narrower and
4:23
narrower as they go up but this gives
4:26
you the opportunity to fold or roll your
4:30
towels and put them on display so if you
4:33
don't like the idea of them just kind of
4:35
being draped over the rungs and you
4:39
prefer a little bit more style or a
4:41
little bit more of a neat package for
4:44
your towels use a ladder shelf instead
4:49
and this will give you the opportunity
4:50
to do some basic folds a little trifold
4:54
for your towel or you could do a rolled
4:58
uh option and have a set of rolled
5:00
towels on one of these shelves you can
5:03
have you know your larger towels at the
5:04
bottom your hand towels in the middle
5:06
and then maybe your um face towels or
5:10
something like that at the top and the
5:13
other thing that's really great about
5:14
these is that they are big enough for
5:16
you to add in some other decorative
5:17
accents as well so if you don't need to
5:19
fill it from top to bottom with towels
5:22
you can add in a little potted plant or
5:24
a candle here and there and it will make
5:26
a really beautiful decorative display
5:29
ladder shelves in general are going to
5:31
run you around $60 to $120 or so some of
5:36
them can be a little bit higher but for
5:38
the most part you should be able to get
5:39
one from IKEA or Walmart or Amazon from
5:43
the $60 to $80 range ladder shelves work
5:47
best with a larger bathroom because they
5:50
will take up more space but they're
5:52
really great for creating some vertical
5:54
interest in your room so if you don't
5:57
have a lot of wall art or you don't have
5:59
a lot of other stuff going on on your
6:00
walls like a wallpaper or a you know a a
6:04
statement paneling or anything like that
6:06
you can use this ladder shelf again like
6:09
I said you in addition to the towels you
6:11
can put other decorative accessories
6:13
there as well and let it be functional
6:15
and decorative all at the same time and
6:17
create a really beautiful vertical
6:19
display in your bathroom next up is a
6:22
wall-mounted towel rack now we see these
6:25
a lot in hotel bathrooms and they are
6:28
basically just a rack that you would
6:30
mount to the wall you probably have two
6:33
or three shelves to it and you can just
6:37
easily do a basic fold for your towels
6:40
and display them either above the toilet
6:43
or uh someplace else in the bathroom
6:45
maybe on the side of your sink and this
6:47
keeps all of your floor space clear
6:50
while also having a nice storage option
6:53
for all of your towels they're easily
6:56
within reach and again you can do a
6:58
basic fold or you can roll your towels
7:00
and have them on a wall-mounted rack
7:04
this is a very simple option the
7:07
installation is fairly easy it's going
7:09
to be no different than putting a few
7:11
you know anchors if you have drywall
7:12
you're going to put a few anchors in
7:14
there and then screw in the rack and you
7:17
are ready to go they'll come in a ton of
7:20
different finishes if you want a metal
7:22
finished you're going to have any kind
7:24
of silver options gold options bronze or
7:27
you may be able to find some wooden
7:30
wall-mounted towel racks as well if you
7:32
have a more rustic organic look going on
7:35
in your bathroom basic towel racks are
7:37
very inexpensive and they start around
7:39
$20 wall-mounted towel racks are best
7:42
for bathrooms that have limited floor
7:44
space and they're especially great if
7:47
you want to have a towel within reach of
7:50
your shower or your tub you can have
7:52
them mounted right over your toilet or
7:54
again right next to your shower and be
7:57
able to reach from the shower or the tub
8:00
and grab a towel and it's just a very
8:03
easy and efficient way to store and
8:06
decorate your wall space with these
8:08
towels next up is the freestanding towel
8:12
rack now this is a great renterfriendly
8:16
solution if you do not want to put holes
8:18
in your walls installing shelves or
8:21
installing racks go for a freestanding
8:24
towel rack now they have bigger ones
8:27
that can be used for large bath towels
8:30
and it's essentially going to act very
8:32
much so like your uh towel ladder right
8:36
your freestanding rack is just going to
8:38
have a series of rungs and you can fold
8:41
over your towel once and then hang it
8:43
over the rung alternatively they have
8:46
smaller countertop freestanding towel
8:49
racks and rings so if you do want to
8:52
have a hand towel that's nearby on the
8:54
countertop you can get a freestanding
8:57
towel rack or ring and use that to
9:00
display and store your towels you can
9:03
find these just about anywhere bed Bath
9:05
and Beyond Amazon Walmart Target they'll
9:09
probably start around $30 and they come
9:12
in a lot of different pretty finishes
9:15
especially if you're going for the
9:17
smaller ones so if you really want to
9:19
add a little bit of a decorative element
9:21
in your guest bathroom for your guest
9:23
hand towels go for a freestanding towel
9:27
rack because they're going to have
9:28
little ornate toppers to them or ornate
9:30
footings on them they're very very
9:33
pretty and it's a great way to decorate
9:35
with bath towels in your bathroom number
9:38
five is floating shelves now if you want
9:42
a really elegant sophisticated clean
9:44
line look go for some floating shelves
9:48
again this is something where you can
9:50
get some white floating shelves you can
9:52
get wood floating shelves you can get
9:54
them in a matte black there are a lot of
9:56
different finish options and thicknesses
9:59
for floating shelves but overall they
10:02
give a nice sleek modern more minimalist
10:05
look for your bathroom you can fold your
10:08
towels you can roll your towels you can
10:10
combine them with other decorative
10:12
accessories this is a great way to um
10:16
utilize your wall space without having
10:19
to mount anything you know on the floor
10:22
also the floating shelves are a another
10:27
space where you can have multiple sizes
10:30
of the bath towels kind of organized so
10:33
let's say for your guests you want to
10:35
have a little stack for everyone where
10:37
you have their bath towel then you have
10:39
a hand towel then you have a face towel
10:41
you can have these little trio stacks
10:44
and have them set out on your floating
10:47
shelves for your guests and they'll look
10:49
like these cute little you know little
10:51
pyramid triangle packages that are all
10:54
ready to go and guests will know of
10:56
course that it's for them because
10:58
they're going to be bundled in sets
11:00
basically and so there's no confusing
11:02
that these are the towels that they're
11:04
intended to use they're all nice and
11:06
neat and beautifully displayed on a
11:09
floating shelf it's a great way to
11:11
decorate with bath towels sets of
11:13
floating shelves are relatively
11:14
inexpensive they usually start around
11:16
$25 for maybe two and you can find these
11:20
everywhere home Depot Amazon Walmart
11:23
Target check out any of these places to
11:26
find any kind of floating shelf that you
11:27
like some are longer than others some
11:29
are thicker than others you can find one
11:32
in your style easily under $50 the
11:35
floating wall shelves are a great way to
11:37
decorate an empty wall and of course if
11:40
you have that limited floor space it's
11:42
going to get these items up off the
11:44
floor so that you can maintain that
11:46
walking area and that maneuverability
11:48
while still having all of the items that
11:50
you need in your guest bathroom tiered
11:53
trays are an excellent option for hand
11:56
towels this is one of the coolest ways
12:00
I've seen to display guest hand towels
12:02
in a bathroom i particularly like it
12:05
when they are all sort of rolled up and
12:08
stacked on one another you can put these
12:10
on you know a two-tiered tray or a three
12:12
tier tray a lot of the times you'll see
12:14
them a three- tiered tray with hand
12:17
towels on the bottom face towels in the
12:19
middle and then decorative accents or
12:22
accessories on the top so think about
12:24
candles little potted plants um or other
12:27
toiletries like Q-tips cotton balls
12:30
things like that you have them all in
12:32
this little compact tower it's really
12:35
great to be able to move around and
12:37
clean around because they're all there
12:39
on one tiered tray so you can pick up
12:42
the whole tray move it wash off your
12:45
counters clean your mirrors and be able
12:47
to put it right back again without
12:48
disturbing all of your items it's a
12:51
fantastic way to display decor and of
12:54
course with the tiered trays another
12:57
option is that you can go with some of
13:00
the tiered tray decor sets i've talked
13:04
about this before they're on Etsy there
13:06
are tiered tray decor sets that go with
13:09
the holidays and the seasons and this is
13:12
a really easy way to decorate your
13:13
bathroom or a tray to keep it sort of
13:16
current for the season or for the
13:18
holiday so if you want to have your
13:20
guest towels out and it's Fourth of July
13:22
and you have your little you know kind
13:24
of wooden flag stands you have your
13:26
little gnome in his red white and blue
13:29
they're just cute ways to add little
13:31
decorative accents into your bathroom in
13:33
a compact concentrated way that is
13:37
functional and efficient because you can
13:38
again pick it up move it if you need to
13:41
clean your counters or clean your
13:42
mirrors or clean your sinks and put it
13:44
right back again it's a great way to
13:47
decorate with bath towels tiered trays
13:50
will run you anywhere from like $15 to
13:52
$60 you can have them metal plastic wood
13:57
they come in every different shape size
14:00
and fashion you can have round ones you
14:02
can have oval ones you can make them
14:04
yourselves from uh you know trays and
14:07
candlesticks from the Dollar Tree the
14:10
the sky is the limit when it comes to
14:11
cheer trays if you want to buy one you
14:14
can find them at an affordable price at
14:17
Walmart Amazon if you want a slightly
14:21
higher-end one like maybe you want
14:22
something that's rustic or reclaimed
14:24
wood or has a vintage sort of style you
14:27
can check out Etsy or again you can DIY
14:30
one really easily as well using supplies
14:33
from the Dollar Tree or Dollar General
14:35
or Walmart this is one of the best
14:37
solutions if you have a bathroom vanity
14:40
that has limited space and you really
14:42
need to take advantage of that vertical
14:44
space consider using a tiered tray to
14:47
display your bath towels number seven is
14:51
baskets now baskets again come in all
14:54
different shapes and sizes so you can
14:57
have some larger baskets that you put on
14:59
the floor to hold some of your larger
15:03
towels or you can use a basket of course
15:06
as a hamper you can use some smaller or
15:09
mediumsiz baskets to put on the side of
15:12
your sink or on some shelves either way
15:17
whatever you want to do baskets are a
15:19
great way to store and display your
15:22
towels for your guests and for yourself
15:24
they keep them nice and neat and
15:26
contained whether you have them folded
15:29
or rolled it's easy to just kind of pull
15:31
one off the top of the pile and use it
15:35
it is a very very efficient way to store
15:40
those towels and have them out open and
15:43
visible and easily accessible for you
15:45
and your guests baskets you can find
15:49
everywhere michaels Hobby Lobby Amazon
15:53
anywhere you can think you can thrift
15:54
baskets at a really great price usually
15:57
if you go to Goodwill or the Salvation
15:59
Army or something like that you can find
16:03
$23 that would be perfect to use in your
16:06
bathroom you can place them again on
16:09
your shelves on your countertop on your
16:12
toilet tank or you can have larger
16:15
baskets that you may sort of stack
16:17
vertically almost as if they're like
16:19
cube storage you can stack your baskets
16:21
and use them that way as well number
16:24
eight is to wall mount your baskets now
16:27
just like I said at the end of the last
16:29
section you can actually stack your
16:30
baskets together and almost use them as
16:32
a cube storage solution if you don't
16:35
have the floor space for that consider
16:37
mounting those baskets you can mount
16:39
them as a trio or as a quad and
16:42
basically turn those baskets into
16:45
shelving where you can then store your
16:48
folded or rolled guest towels you can
16:52
sort them by size or again if you have
16:55
maybe a set of four baskets you can go
16:58
ahead and create a little bundle of
17:00
guest towels in each one having the bath
17:03
towel the hand towel and the face towel
17:05
this is a really creative way to not
17:09
only use baskets as decoration and
17:12
storage but to display those towels as
17:15
well number nine is the giant clothes
17:18
pin towel holder now this is something
17:21
that is extremely popular on Etsy right
17:24
now i'm not sure if you can buy these
17:27
anywhere else i will check for you
17:29
though but I will leave some links in
17:31
the description box below for some of
17:33
the shops that are selling these on Etsy
17:35
they are essentially a giant clothes pin
17:38
like the kinds of clothes pins that you
17:39
would use to hang clothes on a line they
17:42
have gigantic versions of them that
17:44
mount to the walls and you can really
17:46
kind of press them open them up put your
17:48
towel there and it lets it hang from the
17:50
wall and I think that is just the
17:52
coolest thing it's adding this really
17:55
beautiful nostalgic decor with a bath
17:59
towel that you know you need to hang it
18:01
or mount it someplace and so for your
18:06
hand towels or if you want a place for
18:08
guests to be able to dry their towels
18:11
this is a really great option i've also
18:14
seen instances where people pair them
18:17
with labels like name labels so you can
18:21
have you know your son can have a towel
18:23
your daughter can have a towel you know
18:25
your husband has a towel and everybody
18:27
has their own rack so that towels don't
18:29
get mixed up i think this is especially
18:32
helpful if you have a guest that needs
18:35
to share a bathroom with your family so
18:38
if you do not have a dedicated guest
18:40
bathroom this is where things like this
18:43
become very very handy because they will
18:45
know that this towel is used by this
18:47
person and it's hanging to dry and they
18:49
will be able to easily distinguish
18:51
between the clean towels or the towels
18:53
that are meant for them and the ones
18:55
that are being used by the family so
18:57
that they're less likely to like dry
18:59
their hands on your face towel or
19:01
something like that it's just a really
19:03
creative solution and um it's it's I
19:07
think great especially in a kids
19:09
bathroom if you want to find a way to
19:12
store your bath towels and it's easy for
19:15
kids to reach it's easy for kids to get
19:17
down i would consider this giant clothes
19:20
pin option it's it's fun it's really
19:22
creative and it's a great decorative way
19:24
to store and display your towels that's
19:27
it for this video i hope you found it
19:29
helpful i will leave links in the
19:31
description box below to all of the
19:33
things that I talked about in this video
