I have tried every cleaning routine
0:05
there is fly lady clean Mama the
0:08
organized Mom method and while I love a
0:12
great cleaning routine I was never able
0:14
to complete all of the tasks I couldn't
0:16
figure out how everyone was able to get
0:19
these cleaning chores done so quickly it
0:22
wasn't until I switched out my mop and
0:24
bucket and upgraded to a wet vac that I
0:27
realized how much time I was able to
0:30
save and how much less effort I needed
0:33
to put in to get that chore done and it
0:36
had me thinking what else in my cleaning
0:39
tool Arsenal is old and Obsolete and can
0:43
be replaced by a better tool hi I'm
0:45
Lindsay Diane from Diane decor.com let's
0:48
jump into the list of cleaning tools
0:51
that I've swapped out that have really
0:53
cut down on the amount of time that it
0:56
takes me to clean my home the first
0:58
thing that I swapped out was a
0:59
microfiber duster I purchased one from
1:03
Amazon that was very highly rated but
1:06
honestly it was just a disappointment
1:08
there was something about it where it
1:10
kept getting snagged on my light
1:12
fixtures when I would bend it to adjust
1:15
the angle so that I could clean the
1:17
baseboards it would just bend again it
1:20
was like too flimsy for me to actually
1:22
clean my baseboards because once I put
1:24
pressure on the duster it would just
1:26
bend away from the wall it was just a
1:29
little things like that that just did
1:31
not work for me it was not until I got
1:34
my hands on a new one that I realized
1:38
the type that you really really need
1:40
this is the microfiber duster that I
1:43
have now this is from Walmart it's from
1:46
the Great Value Brands it is extendable
1:50
it kind of twists opens up and you'll
1:52
notice that the pole is really nice and
1:55
thick and sturdy it's not going to bend
1:57
on you it's not gonna snap in half and
2:01
the actual microfiber material is very
2:05
different from the other one the other
2:07
one claimed to be a microfiber feather
2:09
duster this just says it's a microfiber
2:11
duster I would say that it really feels
2:14
like a cheap shag carpet kind of
2:17
material it's very thick it's very dense
2:20
the pieces aren't going to fall out and
2:24
it snaps on and snaps off really easily
2:26
it's pretty cool you can just kind of
2:29
open the snap slide off the sleeve wash
2:32
it put it in the dryer or you can lay it
2:36
to dry either one have worked for me and
2:38
I've had no trouble with it and it's
2:40
good to go this thing has saved me so
2:42
much time it has saved my back from
2:44
bending over it's absolutely fantastic I
2:48
highly recommend it so if you're having
2:50
trouble with your duster and dusting in
2:52
general think about getting one that's
2:55
like this the next change that I made
2:58
was I stopped trying to clean my light
3:01
fixture is like my lamps and my vanity
3:04
lights and my pendant lights over my
3:06
kitchen islands and my blinds with the
3:11
duster instead I got these microfiber
3:15
dusting gloves these things are awesome
3:18
they're pretty self-explanatory you just
3:20
kind of put them on and you can dust
3:23
everything with your hand when I tell
3:25
you it will take you seconds to clean
3:28
your blinds
3:29
I mean it you all you have to do is
3:31
Twist some clothes you kind of do a
3:34
swipe swipe swipe swipe and you're done
3:37
and the time it takes for you to wave
3:39
goodbye to someone you can have a whole
3:41
set of blinds dusted it is by far the
3:45
fastest way that I have found to clean
3:47
blinds and of course if you want to
3:49
clean your lights if you have like
3:51
delicate crystals or chandeliers or
3:54
anything that you have to be really
3:56
careful around use the gloves the next
3:59
thing that I switched out in my cleaning
4:02
routine was I stopped using microfiber
4:05
cloths to clean my bathtub and my shower
4:09
and instead I went with a push broom now
4:13
this is a hack that I've seen floating
4:15
all over YouTube and Tick Tock it is
4:19
fantastic if you don't want to have to
4:23
bend over or reach high up on your Tippy
4:25
Toes that reach that a broom gives you
4:29
changes everything you can get through
4:33
the walls the floors so much faster and
4:36
because you have that bristle bottom it
4:39
will really give you that like abrasive
4:41
scrub that you may need to get like
4:43
dried soap conditioner shampoos things
4:46
like that that are in the shower that
4:48
you need that little extra elbow grease
4:50
for it helps scrub them away so easily
4:52
so all I do now is I spray down my
4:55
shower or tub either with a dawn power
4:57
wash or with like a Scrubbing Bubbles
5:00
shower cleaner and then I just scrub
5:03
scrub scrub with a push broom rinse it
5:06
and I'm good to go and while we're
5:09
talking about showers one of the things
5:11
that would slow me down so much in my
5:14
cleaning routine was the hard water
5:17
stains on the shower doors what I ended
5:19
up getting was The Scrub Daddy power
5:22
paste now this is the combo pack it
5:25
comes with the power paste and the scrub
5:28
mommy sponge
5:29
so the sponge itself is kind of like a
5:33
Scrub Daddy on one side where it's that
5:35
rougher more abrasive side the scrub
5:38
mommy side is a really soft really soft
5:43
gentle kind of sponge and so what they
5:45
do is they say you kind of get your
5:47
sponge a little bit damp you wipe it
5:49
into the power paste you scrub down on
5:52
the rough side and then when you're
5:54
rinsing you wipe down with the soft side
5:56
it catches any of that excess product
5:58
and leaves everything sparkling clean I
6:01
think it does a phenomenal job on hard
6:04
water and mineral deposits it also does
6:07
a great job on like oven doors and you
6:10
know glass cooktops and things like that
6:12
but for me the the main thing that I use
6:15
it for is to get rid of all those hard
6:17
water stains it's phenomenal so the next
6:20
thing that I switched out and this was
6:22
actually something that I did a while
6:23
ago I stopped using paper towels and
6:27
like the Clorox wipes and things like
6:29
that and switch those out for a
6:31
color-coded microfiber cloth system now
6:34
I got mine from Amazon they're
6:36
inexpensive I got the three color pack
6:39
so let's say I use the gray ones only in
6:41
the bathroom the green ones only in the
6:43
kitchen and the pink ones are around the
6:46
house for like all over dusting
6:49
um what the what's really nice about
6:51
using the microfiber cloths instead of
6:53
using paper towels is not only does it
6:55
save you a lot of money because you
6:57
could just throw these in the wash and
6:58
use them over and over and over again
6:59
but you just get more distance with the
7:04
cloth so you are really supposed to just
7:07
fold it up
7:08
and let's say you're using one square
7:10
right so you're going to use this side
7:12
and then when that gets soiled you use
7:15
this side then you can flip it pancake
7:17
it over now you've got two more clean
7:20
surfaces and so on and so forth right
7:21
you get it you can easily fold and
7:24
unfold it to get another clean surface
7:26
to use whereas before I would be pulling
7:29
paper towels and pulling paper towels
7:31
and pulling an extra wipe and it's just
7:33
it saves time it saves money and it
7:36
saves waste okay let's talk about floors
7:39
this was a cleaning chore that was
7:42
taking me hours to complete so anytime I
7:46
wanted to wash my floors now I have a
7:48
lot of dark hardwood and a lot of tile
7:52
and anytime I clean my floors I would
7:54
have to either sweep or vacuum then go
7:58
in with my mop once the floors were like
8:00
wet and washed then I would go through
8:03
and use like a floor towel to go through
8:06
and dry all of the high traffic area is
8:09
because no matter how many times I would
8:11
tell my kids it's wet don't run it's wet
8:14
don't run they would still run and
8:17
someone would still fall and so it was a
8:19
step that I just had to do to make sure
8:21
the kids were safe and it's something
8:24
that would take me so long to do when I
8:28
say it took me hours just to complete
8:30
the downstairs it was it was just an
8:33
overwhelming task and so it didn't get
8:37
done instead I would just tackle the the
8:40
hot zones right the kitchen the
8:43
entryways like a high traffic hallway
8:46
that would be about it everything else I
8:49
just could not keep up with on a regular
8:51
basis until I swapped it out for a wet
8:56
dry vac now I'm using the Bissell
8:59
crosswave MAX cordless this thing is
9:04
absolutely awesome it does all of the
9:06
steps in one it will suck up the larger
9:09
debris cereal rice things like that it
9:12
will wash the floor with the solution
9:14
and it will vacuum it dry I I cannot say
9:18
enough good things about this it is an
9:21
investment I did put it off for three
9:23
years I struggled with these floors for
9:25
three years until I was like this is not
9:28
working I need a better tool and that's
9:30
what kicked off all of this I got the
9:33
crosswave it completely changed the game
9:36
for me so if you are struggling with
9:38
lots of floor that needs to be washed
9:40
and needs to be kept up with you should
9:42
definitely look into a wet dry vac the
9:46
cordless option is well worth the
9:48
investment it just makes it effortless
9:50
to Glide from room to room I absolutely
9:52
love it okay the next thing that I
9:56
change in my floor cleaning routine is
10:00
my broom now I have dark hardwood in the
10:04
bedroom every night I sweep the floor
10:07
there's no way around it the kids run in
10:10
and out there they eat snacks in there
10:13
they do all sorts of things there are
10:16
crumbs on the floor I do not like
10:18
stepping in it I do not want it in my
10:19
bed every single night I sweep the floor
10:21
now I do you have a robot vacuum but the
10:26
fact of the matter is even though it's
10:27
effortless it takes way more time to let
10:30
that run and at the end of the night
10:33
when I'm dog tired I just want a clean
10:35
place to lay my head and so I would take
10:38
the five minutes and sweep with my
10:40
regular old bristle broom one day I
10:44
could not find my broom the kids were
10:46
playing with it they left it outside
10:48
someplace and I couldn't find it and so
10:51
I used the microfiber duster I bent it
10:55
to a 90 degree angle and I said let me
10:57
see if I can do a quick Sweep with this
10:59
really quickly and you know it worked so
11:03
well I could not believe it like my mind
11:05
was blown how fast I was able to clean
11:08
up this floor and that's when I realized
11:10
that instead of a broom and dustpan I
11:13
really needed a dust mop this is the mop
11:16
that I have it has this kind of nice
11:20
knotted
11:23
um microfiber material everything sticks
11:25
to it it's nice it swivels it extends
11:28
it's fantastic and when I say I can
11:31
clean the bedroom floor in 30 seconds or
11:35
less I mean it it's it's great and the
11:38
last cleaning tool that I added to my
11:41
Arsenal is the Bissell Little Green Pro
11:44
heat it's people talk about it all the
11:47
time I just I just didn't think it could
11:50
be that awesome but frankly it just is
11:52
it's easier to have an all-in-one tool
11:54
just like the wet dry vac we're saying
11:57
I've got my scrub brush I've got my
11:59
solution my cleaning solution and I've
12:02
got that vacuum option to get up all of
12:05
the excess water and it's just one step
12:09
with one tool it's so much faster I find
12:13
it to be really great in the carpet I
12:16
also of course use it on my upholstery
12:18
it works phenomenally well and it's
12:22
fairly inexpensive so I it's well worth
12:24
the investment if you find yourself
12:26
having to do that type of cleaning often
12:29
so that is it for the list of cleaning
12:32
tools that I've swapped out in my
12:34
cleaning routine that have saved me a
12:36
ton of time and a ton of effort so if
12:40
you find yourself like me where no
12:43
matter what you do no matter what order
12:45
you do it in or what day you do it on
12:47
you just can't get it all done consider
12:50
the tools that you're using for the job
12:52
it will really make all of the
12:54
difference if you're trying to get a
12:57
good clean done in your home quickly and
13:00
completely the tools really do make a
13:03
difference that's it for this video I
13:06
