Hi, it's Lindsay Diane from
0:07
In this video, we're going to talk all
0:08
about Christmas decor. This is the first
0:11
video in my 2025 Christmas collection
0:14
series where we go in store and look at
0:17
all of the new holiday decor releases.
0:20
We're going to see if they are worth the
0:22
trip, worth the money, and we're going
0:24
to try to see if some of these viral
0:27
finds are really as great as everyone
0:29
says they are. I have been in about 20
0:33
different stores in the past two weeks
0:36
looking at all of the holiday decor
0:39
releases. Over the next few videos, I am
0:43
going to break each one of them down for
0:45
you so that you know exactly where to
0:46
shop this year to get the best price on
0:49
your Christmas decor. Let's start off by
0:52
comparing the two big box stores, Target
0:55
and Walmart. Links to everything
0:58
featured in this video will be in the
1:00
description box below. Let's get
1:07
My first stop was Target. Now, here in
1:10
the Bullseye playground, this was
1:12
formerly called the dollar spot. You
1:15
have these small decorative pillows.
1:17
They have a small green velvet one
1:19
that's shaped like a tree and another
1:21
one that's shaped like a gingerbread
1:23
house. These are okay. They're $5 a
1:26
piece. They might be okay in a kids
1:28
bedroom or something like that, but I'm
1:31
not sure that I would put them on my
1:32
sofa. Then they have these little, you
1:35
know, Target houses. I'm think that you
1:38
could probably pass on these. Now, the
1:40
bottle brush trees I would definitely
1:43
pick up. You can get bottle brush trees
1:46
anywhere, but this is the first time
1:48
that I've seen them with like a cutout
1:50
pattern to them. So, some of them are
1:52
tiered. Some of them have like a spiral
1:54
cutout to them. Those are the ones that
1:56
I would target. They also have a little
1:57
glitter embellishment to them that's
1:59
really nice. Then, they have their
2:02
outdoor mattes. These are the cooer mats
2:06
that are kind of rough texture that go
2:08
outdoors. They have one that's shaped
2:10
like a gingerbread house cutout and
2:13
another rectangular one with bows on it.
2:16
Both of those are $5. I think that's a
2:18
great price for those. Now, the next
2:20
thing that caught my eye were the
2:22
nutcrackers, but on closer inspection,
2:25
they're just not anything special.
2:27
They're $3 a piece. You can definitely
2:29
find better other places. Now, they have
2:32
a ton of little knickknack items for
2:34
tabletop decor. The only thing that I
2:37
can think to use these for would be
2:39
maybe as a part of your tablescape.
2:41
Other than that, they're really not
2:43
going to give you a lot of bang for your
2:44
buck. You might want to skip these. They
2:46
have these little mini potted plants
2:48
here for $5. The quality of these is
2:51
very, very nice, but they are small. So,
2:54
know that you would probably only really
2:55
be able to use these on like a bathroom
2:57
countertop or maybe, you know, somewhere
3:00
on your kitchen island where you don't
3:02
want it to take up a ton of space. Now,
3:04
the thing that I loved probably the most
3:07
out of this entire section were these
3:10
little yarn trees. They are so so cute.
3:14
They come in three different colorways.
3:16
They come white, green, and red. They're
3:18
$3 each, and they light up. I think that
3:21
this is a great price for this. I hadn't
3:23
seen anything like this anywhere else.
3:26
Um, and so I think that this is a good
3:29
uh pickup here at Target. They also have
3:32
some inexpensive stocking holders in two
3:34
two different styles. They have a
3:37
snowflake and then also a bow or a
3:40
ribbon. These are $5 each. They have a
3:44
good weight to them and I think they're
3:46
definitely worth the buy. The next item
3:48
here is this little wooden advent
3:50
calendar for $5. This is actually really
3:53
cute. If you want an easy way to kind of
3:56
keep dra track track of the days in
3:58
December and countdown until Christmas,
4:00
this is a good find. So, moving on to
4:04
other sections of the store. This is a
4:08
larger decorative pillow. They have a
4:10
wreath. They have a little uh bear, a
4:13
gingerbread man. These are really cute.
4:16
For $10, I would say grab them. Their
4:20
trees are nice, but they're a little bit
4:22
overpriced. You're going to see some
4:25
over $100 here for the smaller trees.
4:28
I'm not sure that I personally would
4:30
spend that on a any tree that's under 6
4:33
ft. Um, but they are very pretty. Now,
4:37
another thing that you're going to see
4:38
all around the store is this velvet
4:41
theme. Their little trees here are in
4:44
the back section in the Wondershop area.
4:48
This is where they put all the seasonal
4:50
decor and they swap it out from season
4:52
to season. Now, these are really
4:54
inexpensive. You see they have some
4:56
little reindeer here. The green velvet
4:58
ones are pretty. The red velvet ones are
5:00
pretty. They also have these little
5:02
trees. If you don't want the larger one,
5:03
you can get a small and a medium one for
5:05
$6 as well. This gold nutcracker is
5:08
very, very pretty for $6. Everything in
5:11
this section here was $6. It was just
5:15
over the line for the Bullseye
5:17
playground, but still very, very
5:19
affordable. The only thing I would steer
5:21
away from is the green velvet
5:23
nutcracker. You can see that it's really
5:25
not made super well. The felt velvety
5:29
stuff is all over the place.
5:34
The next thing that caught my eye were
5:35
these little houses. This is sort of a
5:38
refreshing take on a Christmas village.
5:41
They didn't have a ton of styles, but I
5:42
think they're pretty cute. They've got a
5:44
lot of glitter, a lot of embellishment
5:46
on them, and for $15, I think that
5:48
they're okay. Now, the thing that is
5:51
really, really nice here are these
5:53
taller trees. Now, on the website,
5:56
they're calling them frosted glitter.
5:58
Um, because they are basically using
6:00
glitter in the same way that you would
6:01
frost the tree. I think that these are
6:03
really gorgeous. They're $25 each.
6:06
Another pretty find are these acrylic
6:11
nutcrackers. They have one that's like a
6:13
clear acrylic and one that's a gold.
6:15
These are great prices. These larger
6:18
sort of glitter white trees are $30
6:22
each. They're also okay, although some
6:24
of the glitter is coming off. And then
6:26
lastly, I saw some more velvet reindeer
6:29
in the white. These are very pretty.
6:31
Definitely worth the price. Overall, I
6:34
would give the selection at Target a
6:37
three out of five stars. Their stock and
6:40
their inventory that they have in store,
6:43
I would also give a three out of five.
6:45
Everything there was well stocked. We of
6:47
course are at the beginning of the
6:48
season, so everything in theory should
6:51
be pretty stocked up except for some
6:53
very, very early shoppers. Um, but the
6:56
stock there was very good. They were
6:58
still unboxing lots of stuff when I was
7:00
in the store. Both the prices and ease
7:03
of shopping I would give a four out of
7:06
five. The prices are very, very good at
7:09
Target. Don't forget to go beyond that
7:12
Bullseye playground in the front because
7:15
there are still a lot of options that
7:16
are very inexpensive that hit that $6
7:19
mark, but you're going to have to go all
7:20
the way to the back of the store to find
7:22
them. And last, but not least, I would
7:24
give the quality of the items a three
7:26
out of five. Most of them are pretty
7:29
good, but there were a few pieces in
7:31
there that looked uh not so great. Uh,
7:34
you know, we saw the green velvet
7:36
nutcracker that looked like it had some
7:39
sort of quality issues going on with it.
7:41
Some of the glittered pieces, you know,
7:44
I kind of came away with glitter all
7:45
over my hands. the, you know, it's hit
7:48
or miss on some of those cheaper items,
7:51
but some of the ones that are at like
7:52
maybe the 20 or $25 price point, like
7:55
those little glitter flock trees, were
7:58
very nice and the glitter didn't come
8:00
off on me. So, I think that overall the
8:02
quality is fairly good at Target. It's
8:05
definitely worth stopping in there if
8:07
you are looking for Christmas decor.
8:10
Now, let's jump into Walmart and see
8:18
at Walmart. One of the very first things
8:20
that caught my eye was their garland.
8:24
Their garland and their wreaths are
8:26
always priced really, really well. If
8:29
you go in for nothing else, I would say
8:30
go in for the garland or the wreaths.
8:33
This flocked 9 foot garland for 1996 is
8:38
an excellent price. I think it's really
8:41
a great buy. So, if you are in the
8:43
market for garland, Walmart is going to
8:46
be one of the best places for you to go.
8:48
Now, I also found this My Texas House
8:51
24in cedar that I've seen online a
8:55
number of places. This, for me, is a
8:58
maybe. They have it priced in my store
9:02
Sure, it's a good quality, but I don't
9:04
know. I I don't know how much anyone
9:08
Their ornaments are a good buy. Um,
9:12
Walmart has a good selection of
9:14
ornaments, particularly the ball
9:16
ornaments, I like in the extra-L large
9:19
size. These red glitter ones with the
9:23
ribbing are stunning. I absolutely love
9:26
them. They are uh $12.28 for a fourpiece
9:32
of these shatterproof ornaments. They
9:34
have them in a lot of different styles,
9:36
different glitter styles. Again, the
9:38
velvet, that matte velvet is really in
9:40
this year. They have those as well. They
9:42
also have a good selection of like candy
9:45
themed decor if you have that going on
9:48
in your home. I would say the candy
9:51
themed oversized ornaments like the
9:54
gumdrops and the peppermints are a maybe
9:58
for me. They were quite flaky, much more
10:02
so than any of the other ornaments that
10:04
I saw. It might be because they just
10:06
have so much little uh embellishing on
10:09
them, but um honestly in a later video
10:13
we'll get on to Hobby Lobby. I would say
10:15
if you're going to shop for this type of
10:17
decor, I would go there first if you
10:20
have one near you. There are also other
10:22
places that have it that we will go
10:23
through in later videos, but those are a
10:25
maybe. The next thing that I saw were
10:27
these ornament houses. They're metal.
10:30
They have some kind of distressing on
10:32
them that frankly just kind of misses
10:34
the mark. It's pretty cheap looking and
10:37
at $17, I don't think these are worth
10:39
the price at all. This, however, is.
10:42
They have this pillar candle holder
10:46
stag. It has these huge antlers on it
10:49
and a little platform for your pillar
10:50
candle. It is really, really nice. I
10:54
would definitely go in store just to
10:57
pick this thing up. Um, the price on
11:03
and I think it's definitely worth it.
11:06
The metal bells are not the, you know,
11:09
the bow is really floppy. It just looks
11:12
cheap. The bell itself is very thin.
11:15
It's very reminiscent of that ornament
11:17
house that I just showed you. I would
11:19
pass on those bells. I'd spotted some of
11:22
the viral pine cone holders way up top.
11:26
and a few of the things that I've seen
11:28
people feature on Tik Tok. I was able to
11:30
find them once I finally rounded the
11:32
corner um in my section I'll show you
11:35
here coming up. But all of these little
11:37
things you just look around because odds
11:39
are they have like the excess stock up
11:41
really really high, but you will be able
11:43
to find them down low if you just keep
11:45
looking around the holiday decor aisles.
11:48
The next thing that I came across were
11:50
these floral ceramic trees. They're
11:53
gorgeous. They're definitely worth the
11:55
price. The little gold wood nutcracker I
11:58
would pass on. He is just nothing
12:02
special. I think that you can find
12:04
better nutcrackers other places.
12:07
Now, these little metal reindeer are
12:10
very, very popular right now. They're
12:12
supposed to be like a Pottery Barn dupe
12:14
or something like that. They are $15 and
12:18
change and $12 and change. together,
12:21
you're going to end up paying around $28
12:23
for those, but they have the same thing
12:25
on Amazon for sold as a set for $21. I
12:30
will leave that linked in the
12:31
description box below. It's the same
12:32
thing. Save a few dollars and buy it on
12:34
Amazon. The nutcrackers that are tiny
12:38
are really cute. They're worth the
12:40
price. The wooden ornament houses also
12:42
have a lot of nice carved detail on
12:44
them. They're also worth the price.
12:46
These little sort of like antler branch
12:49
pillar holders are cute. Um I was
12:52
questioning whether or not you could
12:54
actually balance a candle on them. And
12:56
you can, but I wouldn't balance a real
12:59
candle on it. It's not super stable.
13:02
Sure, it'll fit in there, but I would
13:03
use a battery operated candle if I were
13:06
to grab these uh candle holders.
13:10
Editing Lindsay here. I just realized
13:12
that all of these candle holders are
13:14
actually displayed upside down. The
13:16
branches are supposed to be on the
13:18
bottom and then the platform for the
13:20
pillow candle is goes on top. So that
13:24
makes more sense why they didn't seem so
13:28
Anyways, continuing on. They're little
13:30
swags with the bells and the brown
13:33
ribbon are okay. Um I've seen better
13:37
other places. Lowe's has some really
13:39
beautiful swags that are inexpensive. I
13:42
might go there before here, but this
13:44
style you're going to see repeated in
13:47
multiple stores over the next couple of
13:49
videos. Um, it's a very popular style
13:52
right now. If you don't have any of
13:55
those other stores available to you and
13:57
you want to pick them up from Walmart,
13:58
yeah, you could. They're okay. Here we
14:00
found the pine cone candlestick holders.
14:04
These are really, really cute. They're
14:06
definitely worth the price. The price on
14:12
the small one is 5.84 and the I'm sorry,
14:15
the small one is $4.84 and the large one
14:18
is 5.84. Definitely worth the price.
14:21
This little metal tree is okay. He's
14:24
around $6. Um I'm not sure what all you
14:29
would do with it. I mean, maybe you
14:30
could get a set of them um and just sort
14:32
of flank a console table or something
14:34
like that. or you could use them as part
14:36
of a tablescape. They also have silver
14:39
metal reindeer as well as these clear
14:42
acrylic reindeer, but I would be
14:43
careful. The antler was already broken
14:45
on this guy um when I got there. So, I
14:49
think that these are probably pretty
14:50
delicate, but the price is good on
14:52
these. This little snowflake I was
14:54
interested in, but when I picked it up,
14:55
I realized it was wood. It's actually a
14:58
really light wood, but the it has a
15:01
really shiny glossy sort of white finish
15:04
on the front of it. So, h they're
15:06
they're a little bit cheap, but they
15:08
look pretty. And these teeny tiny little
15:11
uh blue acrylic nutcrackers for $3 are
15:14
probably a pass. Now, when we get into
15:17
the Christmas trees, the prices here are
15:20
decent, but they are not the best that
15:23
I've found. Um but you won't be
15:25
disappointed. uh picking up a Christmas
15:28
tree from Walmart. They're smaller, you
15:32
know, my Texas House flocked ones, that
15:39
their slightly larger little cedar one I
15:45
They have um a decent price because the
15:48
quality of these is really actually very
15:50
nice. So, I think the pricing is okay.
15:53
Um, but if you're looking for like a
15:55
cheap tree like for your kids' rooms or
15:58
something like that, go to Five Below if
16:00
you're going to get a tree that small.
16:02
You can even find them at like CVS and
16:04
Walgreens. I would be more inclined to
16:06
buy a cheap tree there than these ones.
16:10
But if you have a very specific purpose
16:11
and you want something that's high
16:13
quality that's going to be up close to
16:15
people's eye, like maybe it's on your
16:17
tablescape, then yeah, it might be worth
16:18
paying a little bit more. This is the
16:20
viral cedar tree from my Texas house. It
16:24
is very pretty, but it's not cheap. Um,
16:27
and just know it's sparse, so if that's
16:30
the look that you're going for, that's
16:32
the look that you're definitely going to
16:33
get. You're going to be able to see that
16:35
trunk of the tree very, very clearly
16:40
Last thing I ran across were their
16:44
uh stockings. These are very nice.
16:46
They're nice and thick. go early if you
16:48
want your choice of a letter. These were
16:51
supposed to be a um a William and Soma
16:55
dupe. I think they released stockings
16:57
like this last year. The price on these
17:00
is excellent. Definitely pick up
17:02
stockings at Walmart. Overall at
17:05
Walmart, I would give their selection
17:06
and their stock three out of five. Their
17:09
prices are good. I would give them a
17:11
four out of five for price. Their ease
17:14
of shopping is also pretty good. But
17:17
what I would say is to look out for some
17:20
of these holiday decor items because
17:23
they are not shipping everything. Some
17:25
things are only going to be for pickup.
17:27
So if you're shopping online, look
17:30
closely because some of these holiday
17:32
decor items that are very, very popular
17:34
that you're seeing go viral are only for
17:37
pickup only. So if you do not have a
17:39
Walmart near you, you're not going to be
17:41
able to get shipping on those items.
17:43
The uh quality of the items at Walmart
17:46
is a little hit or miss as well. I would
17:48
give them a three out of five. Overall,
17:51
if you're in the area, if you're already
17:53
in Walmart, it's definitely worth
17:55
browsing around those aisles, especially
17:57
if you're looking for garland or
17:59
wreaths. The prices there are excellent.
18:02
So, definitely check out Walmart for
18:04
those items. And of course, for their
18:07
ornaments as well, especially if you're
18:09
looking for those oversized large
18:11
ornaments. The pricing on those is
18:13
really great at Walmart. Overall, if I
18:16
had to choose between the two, I think
18:18
that Target edges Walmart out just a
18:21
bit. Their quality is nice. They have a
18:24
nice sort of trendy, modern vibe to a
18:28
lot of their decor selection, and not
18:31
only do they have the Bullseye
18:32
playground, but they have a lot of decor
18:35
items that are at that $6 price point
18:37
that are really beautiful. And compared
18:40
to Walmart's pricing with the $13, $17
18:44
range, I think that Target is the better
18:46
buy. So, that's it for this video. I
18:49
hope you found it helpful. Don't forget
18:51
that there are links to all of the items
18:54
featured in this video in the
18:56
description box below. And don't forget
18:58
to visit me at diancor.com. I post all
19:01
about Christmas decor and holiday decor
19:04
ideas over there. I thank you so much

for watching. If you like this video,
