hi it's lindsy Diane from Dian decor.com
0:04
and this video we're going to talk all
0:06
about simple Christmas decorating ideas
0:09
so whether you are going out of town for
0:12
Christmas whether you just don't have
0:14
the emotional ban with to get all the
0:17
stuff out of the garage and put
0:18
everything up whether you have physical
0:21
restrictions that are just not allowing
0:22
you to get up on that ladder and string
0:24
all those lights or whether you just
0:27
don't have the money to put in to go all
0:30
all out this is the video for you this
0:33
is all about simple budget friendly easy
0:38
stressfree Christmas decorating ideas
0:41
let's get started Christmas is by far
0:44
the biggest decorating season people go
0:47
all out for Christmas they even go
0:50
overboard most times even if you don't
0:53
decorate for any other holiday you tend
0:56
to decorate for Christmas but it can be
0:58
emotionally drained if you have other
1:01
stuff happening in your life the last
1:04
thing you want to do is sort through a
1:05
bunch of bins for ornaments and lights
1:08
and things like that it's very
1:11
physically tasking lots of things are
1:13
big the trees are big the garlands are
1:16
long the string lights you've got to get
1:18
up on a ladder it's physically tasking
1:21
and of course it's expensive even if you
1:24
have all of your decorations you still
1:26
have holiday dinners and you have
1:28
presents and then you have New Year's
1:29
and you have end of the year parties
1:31
it's a very expensive time of year and
1:34
sometimes you just need that paired down
1:36
simple holiday decorating so let's jump
1:40
into these five simple Christmas
1:43
decorating ideas starting with number
1:46
one number one is to put up a wreath and
1:49
a doormat a Christmas wreath and a
1:52
Christmas doormat are the perfect
1:54
welcome home for the holiday season you
1:56
get to see that every time you come home
1:58
your guests get to see it and experience
2:01
that holiday feeling when they approach
2:03
your door it's the perfect way to start
2:05
out with a simple decorating plan
2:08
moreover they're
2:10
inexpensive now of course you can use a
2:12
wreath that you already have if you
2:14
don't have one you can DIY wreath really
2:17
easily it's only going to cost you maybe
2:19
five or6 dollars in supplies from the
2:21
Dollar Tree you can get a wreath form
2:25
you can get a pool noodle whatever you
2:27
need you can wrap some G around around
2:30
it put some ornaments on it and you're
2:31
done door mats are also very inexpensive
2:35
you can find them at Dollar General Aldi
2:38
always has seasonal doormats of course
2:40
Walmart Amazon Big Lots all of these
2:43
places will have really inexpensive
2:45
seasonal door mats number two is to put
2:48
out your holiday pillows and your
2:52
blankets so if you have some holiday
2:55
themed blankets or pillow covers that
2:58
you like to swap out on your sofa or
3:00
maybe you have holiday bedding that you
3:02
like to swap out on your bed I wouldn't
3:04
skip this part it's not going to take
3:06
you long to do and it's going to give
3:08
you that cozy warm fuzzy holiday feeling
3:13
you're going to have those nice whether
3:15
it's a faux fur blanket or a sherper
3:17
blanket or a fleece blanket whether you
3:19
put it on your sofa or your armchair or
3:22
drape it over the edge of your bed it's
3:24
going to put you into that holiday
3:26
festive mood and it's easy to unpack
3:30
those wash them up and drape them over
3:32
your sofa and get them set up as this is
3:35
a part of the holiday decorating plan
3:38
that I wouldn't Skip it's simple it's
3:39
easy it's inexpensive if you don't have
3:42
these items you can always get a holiday
3:44
throw blanket from Target or Aldi or you
3:49
know even the grocery stores will have
3:52
little holiday seasonal blankets all
3:54
tied up with a ribbon and they'll be
3:56
marked down around this time they're
3:59
going to be inexpensive this is an easy
4:01
cheap way to decorate your home and give
4:04
you that warm and cozy feeling number
4:06
three is to put out a few decorative
4:09
kitchen towels so the kitchen is a place
4:12
where we spend a lot of time normally
4:14
even more so during the holiday season
4:17
and just draping over a few holiday
4:19
themed kitchen towels or even pot
4:22
holders is a really great way to get
4:25
those festive designs into your home and
4:28
really put you in the mood for Christmas
4:31
now again this is something that's very
4:33
inexpensive they sell them at Dollar
4:35
Tree for
4:36
$125 get yourself a couple of hand
4:38
towels get yourself maybe a pot holder
4:41
and that's all you really need drape
4:44
them over you know your stove or your
4:46
dishwasher or wherever you like to lay
4:48
them out um so that they can be seen in
4:51
your kitchen and it's going to help
4:53
decorate the space and give you that
4:55
warm and festive feeling next I would
4:57
create just one h Hol cent piece so you
5:01
can start with a tray or if you have one
5:04
particular item that you really love to
5:06
put out so maybe you have like a
5:07
Christmas Village or you have these two
5:10
little mini light up trees or you have a
5:13
giant snow globe that you like or a
5:15
little collection of snow globes just
5:17
put out one thing that's going to create
5:20
a centerpiece and put it in a hight
5:22
traic area so that may be on your
5:25
kitchen countertop or maybe it's your
5:27
coffee table or maybe it is your dining
5:30
table if you frequent that area during
5:32
the holidays some place where you're
5:34
going to see it and you're going to kind
5:36
of walk by and smile and like the look
5:38
of it something that lights up is all
5:40
the better because it's going to get you
5:42
into that sort of twinkly light season
5:45
that we're in um but just one
5:48
centerpiece you don't have to have
5:50
something for your coffee table and your
5:52
dining table and your kitchen counter
5:54
and your bathroom counter you don't have
5:55
to do all of that just pick one and put
5:58
it in a hight trffic area area last but
6:00
not least do a tree with just lights or
6:06
if you really can't bring out the tree
6:08
then get some mini countertop trees like
6:12
they sell at Dollar Tree and put those
6:15
in a hight traffic area so maybe you
6:18
have one in your kitchen or by your
6:20
entryway or you may have one in your
6:23
bedroom you can put it on your dresser
6:25
you can put it on a console table or a
6:27
sofa table or a countertop
6:29
just let yourself have that little
6:32
Christmas spirit with the tree strink a
6:36
few lights on it put a few ornaments on
6:38
it and it will really help create a
6:41
beautiful look it's going to be sweet
6:44
and festive and it's easy to do again if
6:47
you go with the big tree just put the
6:49
lights on it you can put colored lights
6:52
you can put flashing lights you can put
6:54
just the plain white lights I like to
6:56
put just plain white lights on my tree I
6:59
don't have them flashing or blinking or
7:00
anything like that but I do have two
7:02
different sizes of Lights which makes it
7:05
give it it gives it like a little bit
7:06
more of a dynamic look so I have one
7:09
that has a larger bulb string and I have
7:11
those and then the standard you know
7:14
light that we always see at Walmart or
7:16
Target or wherever you buy your lights
7:18
that like standard size we have those
7:21
all over the tree and sometimes it's
7:23
just a lights year this is something
7:26
that I learned from my mom when they
7:28
first became became empty nesters she
7:31
would say okay I'm just I have a tree
7:33
it's just the lights though like before
7:36
before anyone could make any commentary
7:38
she says it's just the light and it's
7:41
just because you know they wanted an
7:43
easy Christmas it's after years and
7:46
years of decorating with the kids and
7:48
putting up all the ornaments and the
7:49
little pictures from all the years it's
7:52
a lot and over the years you collect a
7:54
lot of ornaments and I remember we had
7:56
hundreds and so you know one year they
7:59
said you know we just want an easy
8:00
Christmas we like the tree we like
8:02
looking at the lights but I don't need
8:04
to break out 10 boxes of ornaments you
8:07
know so it's it I learned that from her
8:10
and sometimes we do it here I just do a
8:12
pair dog Christmas and it's just the
8:14
lights or if you want to hang a few
8:19
featured ornaments that you like to have
8:21
or you have kids right that really want
8:24
to play with the ornaments just do a
8:25
mini tree for them and let them decorate
8:27
it the way that they want and this makes
8:29
it a really simple and easy decorating
8:33
idea for Christmas that's it for this
