Your health. We're getting near the end of 2013 and of course the holidays

We've had Thanksgiving already go by and we've got Christmas in a week or so and then of course the New Years

It's a nice time to reflect on how the last year was or the previous year or the year

just ending and then looking forward to the New Year, in this case 2014

But the reason I want people to remember about health is because I've had a chance to meet

with some friends and connect with people I hadn't seen in a while and it's just amazing

to me how many people are struggling with some sort of a health issue, mentally, physically

emotionally, something that has afflicted them. And it just goes to show why we want to be so grateful for our health

When I do workshops and talk to people I'm going constantly about, well what are you

grateful for? But I don't want to lead the witness. Let them decide. Is it their health, their family, their friends, their job, the roof over their head, whatever

it might be. But at this time I'd like to just make an exception and encourage you when you're writing

in that gratitude journal, when you're showing your appreciation and thankfulness, if it's

not at the top of your list, it should be somewhere near the top, your health

I was chatting with an individual yesterday I've known for a long time and they mentioned

how they finally figured it out that all these other things that seemed to be important in

the past weren't nearly as important as their health. So think about that during this holiday season

Think about some of the people who are maybe not in as good a shape as they could be

Extend a hand. Say hello. Send them a text. Send them a note, email, whatever, just to say hello and be grateful for their friendship

It's a great time of year to reflect back on those friendships and most of all, be grateful

for your health and your family and friends and everything you have in your life
