Are you planning to fly this year and want to make sure you're getting the absolute best pricing on your airfare
0:06
Do you want to prevent ever booking it and then two days later finding a better price someplace else
0:12
These are the ways that you can be confident that you're always getting the best deals and that you're paying the cheapest possible price for the flights that you're wanting
0:21
So let's go ahead and dive in. Tip number one, be flexible on your airports
0:26
So where I am, for instance, I'm in Los Angeles. And so I have not only LAX as an airport, I have Orange County and San Diego and, gosh, who else do I have
0:36
I have Long Beach. I have, anyway, I have five or six airports that are fairly close to me or at least within good range
0:44
By good range, I really just mean within an hour or so because if it's cheap enough, I might be willing to drive two hours if I can save enough money
0:52
So what I do when I'm looking for flights is not only do I look at my main airport, I look at every airport
0:58
that is within a driving distance of where I'm willing to drive
1:02
Because if it's going to save me $200 to go out of a different airport
1:07
I'm definitely going to be willing to drive. So I always look at flexibility of airports
1:11
But not only where I'm leaving from, I also look at it for where I'm going to. So say I'm going to Paris or London or wherever in the world
1:20
there are other airport options there as well. So maybe you don't fly right into the main city
1:25
but maybe there's a city nearby that would be easy access. to the city that you're wanting to go to, that would be cheaper
1:32
I've often found that sometimes if you're looking at an outside city or an outside airport
1:36
you might be able to save a few hundred dollars on your airfare. And then you just simply take a train to your ultimate destination or a car or an Uber or whatever it is
1:45
or plan that other destination into your trip and expand it and making it into something even better for your vacation
1:52
Tip number two, be flexible on your dates. So I know you might only have a vacation at a certain time and that's when you have to go
2:00
And that's fine. But if you have any flexibility in your dates at all and you can tweak it even just one or two days before or after
2:08
you might be able to save even more money. And by saving more money I mean you could literally save by going on a different date If you flexible at all it definitely worth looking into Tip number three track your pricing
2:22
Now, there are some websites that will help you do this, such as Hopper and Google Flights
2:27
where you can actually say, okay, I'm looking at a flight to London, watch it for me
2:31
and tell me if prices are going up or going down, and kind of what I have to expect
2:37
In fact, I'm going to go ahead and share an email. I did a price tracking for a flight to London
2:41
in and got this notification from Google flights to let me know that the price had gone down
2:47
and now would be a great time to buy. So how do you do this? How do you track pricing? How do you get
2:52
these email notifications? How do you know when it's a good time to buy? This leads me to tip number
2:57
four and this is my bonus tip. This is the best website to go to to get pretty much good pricing
3:05
all the time. Not only do they always have the best pricing from my experience as a travel professional
3:10
but they also have tools that you can use to tweak your price and make sure that you're getting
3:17
even better pricing than you thought. It allows you to be flexible on airports. It allows you to be
3:21
flexible on your dates. It allows you to track prices. It has everything. So let's go ahead and
3:26
dive in and let me show you what I mean. Real quick, if you're enjoying this information, if you can go
3:30
ahead and give me a thumbs up, it would help me so much and help my channel be spread to people who
3:34
could really use my help on their vacation planning. All right. So the website that I'm talking about is
3:40
Google flights. Now, they don't actually make the booking for you for your flight. They just bring
3:46
every deal and possible cheapest airfare available around the web and make it in a nice, easy
3:53
one spot where you can actually get the best pricing. I always use Google flights every time that
3:59
I'm searching because they always have the best price, even compared to the professional websites that
4:05
I get to use as a travel agent that aren't available to the public, Google flights still beats
4:10
those. So let me show you an example of how to maximize being flexible on all those things
4:15
that I just mentioned and how to track prices. All right. So we are on the Google Flight's website
4:19
and I'm going to look at a vacation from Los Angeles to London, just the Heathrow Airport
4:25
which is their main airport Tip number two actually was being flexible on your dates Here where you can start doing that If you click here as you see it populates in what the pricing is for each date So say you taking a vacation
4:40
in July, and originally you were going to leave on Monday, and you see it's $1,000, but if you could
4:46
maybe just bump it and leave on Thursday, you could save some money. The other thing you can do with this
4:52
is say you're getting a vacation this year, but you can be flexible on what month to go
4:56
is you can actually scroll through here and see what the prices are and be able to save money
5:03
So for instance, instead of going in July, if you can wait and go in August, the end of August
5:08
you could save almost $300 right there. So that's the first place I go when I'm being flexible on dates
5:13
is to scroll through that area there and to pick the right date for what I'm looking for
5:18
Okay, so let's pretend we're going to go on the 25th and we're going to come back on the 31st
5:23
So as you can see, this is actually bringing up an even cheaper flight. Originally we were looking at $1,000. Now it's down to $630. So we've saved almost $400 simply by being flexible on our date
5:35
All right. So let's go ahead and take it a step further and make sure we're checking all of the airports as well
5:40
All right. For that, what I'm going to do is instead of picking Heathrow, I'm going to say all of London in the UK
5:45
What this is going to do is check the pricing on all of the airports in and around London and give me the best pricing
5:53
So as you can see, the best price is still London Heathrow, but if you were to scroll down
5:59
you would see that they've started to bring in other airports as well. So it includes London City
6:03
and it includes some of the other airports that are in the London area. So even though Heathrow is
6:08
still the cheapest, at least you have the comfort of knowing, it is checking all of the airports
6:13
for you to find what the cheapest is. So it's not only on your exit, but you can also do it on
6:19
your leaving. So if I picked all of Los Angeles, it would do the same thing
6:23
would check all of the airports in the LA area and bring me what the cheapest is. Now, in this case
6:29
it's still LAX. DeHre still seems to be the best price, but you know that you're checking everything
6:35
and that you're absolutely confident that you're getting the best price. All right. So when regarding
6:40
tip number three tracking prices remember that email that I showed you This is where I did it I went to track prices That it And now Google going to monitor every flight to London from LAX on those dates and let me know if prices go up prices go down and helps me to take advantage when the
7:00
price changes and be able to buy at the right time. Because here's the thing. I could buy today
7:07
and it might be more expensive, showing more expensive than I buy today. But if I wait a week
7:12
it might be even cheaper than this and I'll get a better deal. So it really is a value to track the
7:18
prices in some manner and know when to buy so that you're getting the absolute cheapest rate
7:24
available for what it is that you're wanting to do for the flight that you're looking for. One other tool on here that I want to show you. If you scroll down, you can see here what the price
7:33
trend is. Oops. Hello. Trend. There we go. So this kind of illustrates what I mean. So if I were to buy
7:41
right now, you can see prices are currently low for trips to London. And you can see that here. And you can also
7:48
see what the trend has been over the last few days. So you can see, are they generally going up
7:53
generally going down, staying the same? It helps you to make the right judgment on when to buy
7:59
If you should buy today or wait a week or two and buy then, or wait a month or two and by then
8:03
This will help you to make that decision. So if I were really going on this trip and I see that it's low
8:09
I would absolutely buy today because I don't want to risk because usually it says it costs up to $9.90 per person
8:15
And as we saw in July, it was up to $1,000 per person. So I wouldn't want to risk getting the higher price
8:20
And I would want to capitalize on getting that price as low as possible and buying today
8:25
So those are my four main tips for getting the best airfare. If you do each of these things, you can be confident that you're always getting the best rates on your flight
8:34
Also, there's a little side note. If you actually do buy something and then within $20,000
8:39
24 hours find something cheaper. All airlines allow you to cancel within 24 hours with no penalties
8:45
So you would just cancel and then book it where you found it cheaper. It has to be within 24 hours, but you have that ability if you need it
8:52
So if you are planning travel this year, make sure you take a look at these videos here
8:56
This top one, you have to see if you're traveling in 2021. There's some really weird things going on with COVID
9:02
and you really don't want to miss it. Other than that, I hope to see you on the next video
