Former City traders convicted of the rate-rigging scandal have had their criminal charges overturned by the top UK court after years of fighting. Former UBS and Citigroup trader Tom Hayes was found guilty in August 2015 of conspiracy to defraud by ‘rigging’ the Libor. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison and was released after five and a half years.
