'Your paradise, our nightmare': Thousands protest against tourism on Majorca island in Spain. Tens of thousands of protestors took to the streets of Mallorca island on Sunday in yet another pushback against tourism in Spain. The protest called for the minimisation of tourism on the Spanish island, with locals marching through the city of Palma de Mallorca carrying signs that read “tourists we love you when you don’t buy our land" and “your paradise is our nightmare”. It comes following previous anti-tourism protests in Spain over the past few weeks as the country fights off its housing crisis, which they say is being fuelled by foreign occupants.
