Welcome to day nine of the 30 mixed
0:02
media cards using your craft supplies at
0:04
home. No specialist card makers
0:06
required. So today we're making this
0:09
card together and as you can see quite
0:12
simple, quite straightforward, very easy
0:14
to adapt. So let's get started.
0:17
I'm just using an ordinary piece of card
0:19
folded in half or you could use card
0:21
blanks if you prefer. And I'm going to
0:23
start by adding some washi tape around
0:25
the edge. Now you can use these really
0:28
well in cards. It's so easy to use. Um,
0:31
I do recommend you have a look at some
0:33
different washi tapes. You can get so
0:34
many different patterns, different
0:37
Just so easy to use. And all I'm going
0:39
to do here is just put one strip of it
0:41
down the side near the fold. And I'll
0:43
just trim the top and the bottom. And
0:46
you can see it's immediately got that
0:48
effect, that little bit of drama. So
0:51
definitely good for lots of cards.
0:55
And then it's simply a case of getting
0:58
some circles. And you can see mine have
1:00
got little crimped edges because I've
1:01
got a little um punch. That's the word
1:04
I'm looking for. But you just need to
1:05
cut out some little circles of some nice
1:07
paper that you've got. So this is great
1:09
for using up scraps of paper or thin
1:12
card. And just glue them in place. I'm
1:14
just using a glue stick. You could um
1:17
use any glue you've got. And for your
1:19
circles, you could draw around anything
1:21
you've got in your house. I mean, what
1:22
about the washi tape? We could have
1:24
drawn around those around the inside,
1:26
but I'm just sitting them on there and
1:28
putting them in a nice curve. I just
1:30
think that's quite pretty. And then to
1:32
make them look a little bit like
1:34
flowers, I'm going to add some centers.
1:37
And I'm going to use buttons. Now, my
1:39
top tip for buttons is to use hot melt
1:42
or cool melt glue. Now, I'm using cool
1:44
melt glue. The clue is there. It's just
1:47
like a hot melt glue gun, but the glue
1:49
melts at a slightly lower temperature,
1:50
so you're less likely to burn your
1:51
fingers. Um, so simple to just put some
1:55
buttons on and they do make great flower
1:58
centers. And you can see for this card,
2:00
we're nearly there. And some of the
2:02
cards have done a lot of detailing and a
2:04
lot of different techniques. Kept this
2:05
one nice and simple. And I'm using the
2:08
greeting thinking of you. You can
2:10
download all the greetings I'm using in
2:12
this series for free from my website.
2:14
There'll be a link in the description
2:15
below and on the screen. And I'm just
2:17
going to stick it on with some little
2:19
foam pads. I like to use three because I
2:21
think it holds it up nicely, stops it
2:23
getting squashed if it goes in the post.
2:26
And then just going to position that. So
2:28
you can see this is a really simple card
2:30
that you can adapt and make your own.
2:32
And anybody would love to receive that.
2:35
So good luck with your card and hope I
2:38
see you in the next video for the next
2:40
card in the series of 30.
