Welcome to day 25 of the 30-day mixed
0:04
media card challenge. 30 cards using
0:07
craft supplies you've probably got at
0:08
home. You want the other videos on the
0:11
screen in the description on the
0:12
channel. You'll find them. But today,
0:15
we're going to be making this card here.
0:17
So, let's get started. For this card,
0:20
you're going to need some pretty tissue
0:22
paper to make flower shapes. Now, you
0:24
can get your flower shapes from
0:25
anywhere, or you can get a free
0:26
printable off my website, which I will
0:29
link to on the screen and in the
0:31
description below. And then all you're
0:33
going to need to do is cut out a
0:35
template so that you can make all your
0:37
flower shapes exactly the same. So,
0:40
whatever flower shape you're using, you
0:42
then want to put it onto your chosen
0:44
color of tissue paper and cut out. And
0:47
you're going to need three of each one
0:50
for each flower. And then I also
0:52
recommend doing some leaves. And I don't
0:54
have a template. I just cut a nice
0:56
little curve and another curve and just
0:59
get some nice little pointy leaves. If
1:01
you want some more sophisticated leaves,
1:03
feel free, especially if you're a very
1:04
good drawer. So once you've got them,
1:07
you're going to want your card. So you
1:09
just need a piece of card folded in half
1:11
or a card blank. And then you can just
1:13
stick your flowers on or you could
1:16
decorate your card first. So, I'm going
1:18
to use some rubber stamps of some little
1:21
flowers just to add a bit of a
1:23
background effect. So, you can see I'm
1:25
just using yellow. It's not in your
1:27
face. It's just to make it a bit more of
1:29
an interesting background.
1:32
And it'd be entirely up to you how much
1:36
And it's up to you to decide when you're
1:38
ready to stick your flowers on. um you
1:41
may just do them on the card,
1:45
if you're using a colored card, for
1:47
example. So, I'm just doing three
1:50
flowers. And I'm looking at it now and
1:52
thinking the background's still a little
1:53
bit bare for me. So, I'm going to get
1:56
another rubber stamp and do some more
1:59
yellow detailing. Oh, don't drop it like
2:02
I did. Um, what you can do, of course,
2:04
is do different colors or maybe have
2:08
some paint and a brush and do a bit of a
2:09
stippled effect in the background. It's
2:12
entirely up to you. As you can see, it's
2:15
just adding a bit more interest before I
2:20
And you can use rubber stamps for all
2:22
sorts of things, but I do rather like
2:25
them for a bit of a background. I've
2:26
used them in a few of my cards in this
2:28
series. So, then it's time to stick.
2:31
Now, tissue paper's dead easy to stick,
2:33
so all you need is a glue stick.
2:36
And I'm going to assemble each flower.
2:38
So, I'm just going to stick those petals
2:40
on, but I'm not going to stick them
2:42
directly over. I'm just going to twist
2:44
it slightly and put them on so that they
2:46
end up looking more natural. If you want
2:49
to do thick flowers, you could do more
2:51
layers, but three does seem to be
2:53
enough. And then stick that down where
2:56
you want it on the card.
2:59
And then of course you're just going to
3:01
repeat for however many flowers you've
3:04
got. Now I'm putting mine close together
3:07
and then I'll just be adding some
3:08
leaves. You could do them all over. You
3:11
could just do one in the center. Get
3:15
So leaves. I'm just going to stick mine
3:18
down flat. You could just stick one end
3:20
of the leaf. I'm tending to just run the
3:22
glue stick along the length and tuck it
3:25
in behind the flowers. So, it just looks
3:27
like they're poking out from behind the
3:32
You can see how I'm uh sticking them
3:34
down at the same time to the paper. So,
3:36
that's why I'm working on a bit of paper
3:38
underneath. I don't need the glue all
3:44
And then I'm happy with that. So, I'm
3:46
going to put a greeting on. And I'm
3:48
going to raise that up with some little
3:49
sticky foam pads. But you could just
3:51
stick it on with a glue stick. And if
3:52
you want some free printable greetings,
3:54
you can get them from our website.
3:56
There's a link on the screen and in the
3:57
description below. Um, they cover lots
4:00
of different occasions, not just forever
4:04
And there we go. Now, I actually think
4:06
the flowers look better with a center.
4:09
So, I'm going to glue on a button. You
4:11
can use a multi-purpose glue, but I'm
4:14
using a hot melt glue gun. I mean,
4:15
strictly mine's a cool melt glue gun,
4:17
but it's just a hot melt glue gun that
4:19
works at a lower temperature. And then
4:21
we're finished. So, I hope you enjoy
4:23
making your tissue paper flower card
