Place 16 AutoCAD Columns at Once with YQArch ZZBZ
Aug 28, 2026
Need to place AutoCAD columns at every grid intersection without inserting them one by one?
In this YQArch workflow, the structural grid is first created with the ZXW command using centimeter-based axis spacing.
X-axis spacing:
400 cm → 400 cm → 500 cm
Y-axis spacing:
300 cm → 300 cm → 600 cm
The completed grid is duplicated to compare two column-placement methods.
Manual method:
Use YQArch ZZR and place a column separately at each grid intersection.
Automated method:
Use YQArch ZZBZ, apply the required column settings, select all grid axes, and place columns across the complete grid automatically.
Grid result:
4 vertical axes
4 horizontal axes
16 intersections
16 columns
Command workflow:
ZXW → Enter Grid Spacing → Copy the Grid
Manual:
ZZR → Place Columns One by One
Automated:
ZZBZ → Set Column Properties → Select All Grid Axes → Enter
This is a YQArch plugin workflow, not a native AutoCAD command. The interface, column settings, fill options, and shortcut commands may vary depending on the installed YQArch version and language configuration.
