Crop Any AutoCAD Xref Without Editing It!
Aug 7, 2026
Need to display only one part of a large Xref or block in AutoCAD?
Use the XCLIP command to create a custom clipping boundary. Everything outside the selected boundary is hidden while the original Xref remains unchanged.
Command sequence:
XCLIP → Select Xref or Block → New Boundary → Rectangular → Pick Two Corners
Use XCLIP to create cleaner plans, details, layouts, and presentation drawings without modifying the original reference file.
