A super comfortable Bluetooth headset. Let's check it out
0:03
Dave Taylor here and I'm checking out this
0:13
This is the Newbie M51 Business Bluetooth headset, and it's really simple and straightforward
0:20
You have a charging case, but it's a one-piece, one-ear headset that also has a little boom mic
0:29
So I put it on by simply putting the big piece behind my ear
0:33
and putting the actual earbud portion in my ear, and I'm ready to go
0:38
Now, there are controls on the device, so that's worth noting. On the back of the stem is the power button
0:46
and then there are volume up and volume down on the top
0:50
and then there's a mute button on the bottom right by your mouth
0:55
So all of this is super easy to work with. I already have it paired with my iPhone 15 Pro, so let's do that
1:03
I'm going to just push and hold for a couple of seconds, and then while it pairs and gets ready with my phone
1:09
I'm just going to go ahead and put it in my ear, and I will note that it includes a USB-C to USB-A cable
1:18
because the charging case has USB-C charging, but the actual unit itself also has a hidden USB-C port
1:28
so if for some reason you lose this or you forget this in your truck or something
1:33
you can still, in case of an emergency, plug in a USB-C and give it some more power
1:38
Now, it does have only one piece that goes in your ear, but it does include three different sizes of ear tips
1:45
and they're more like memory foam, so I find the medium size works really well for my ear
1:51
You'll experiment with different ones to get the actual audio quality you want
1:55
and then you can listen to music, as I am now listening to
1:59
and I will be honest with you, this is not the same audio experience
2:04
as having full headset or something like that, but it's not intended to be
2:09
So you could listen to music or a podcast, but really this is for when you're talking to people
2:15
and that's where the whole microphone piece comes in really well. So let me just jump straight into a demo
2:21
I'm in the voice recording system, and what I'm going to do is I'm going to actually record my voice so you can hear it
2:27
but we also have background noise, because one of the big features of this M51 is that it has CVC 8.0
2:36
which is a dual microphone noise cancellation system, so if you're in a noisy environment, people will still be able to hear you
2:44
So we're still using the microphone I regularly use. This is our background noise
2:51
And I'm going to actually now turn the speaker towards me to make it even more
2:56
and then why don't we even up the volume a little bit. So it's like I'm in a really noisy bar or maybe at a trade show or something
3:06
So let me pause that so you'll see me turn that on and off
3:10
Now whether you'll hear that in the background when I'm talking is another question
3:14
So now what you're hearing is my voice is picked up by the newbie M51
3:21
and in a very quiet environment, it sounds really good, but let's jump into that trade show
3:29
And now you can kind of hear the background, but the more I talk
3:33
the more the circuitry is able to get rid of that annoying background noise
3:37
and let you focus on what I'm saying, and I think it's a pretty interesting capability
3:43
and it's definitely an important selling point here. Now let's leave the bar. It's pretty noisy
3:50
So I'm going to stop the recording. And where this all becomes really interesting is if you're a trucker
3:58
or if you're a driver, like maybe you do Uber or Lyft or something
4:03
this can be great. It's really comfortable. It has 15 to 20 hours of usage time just on this
4:11
and then you can put it in the case and get up to 80 hours of usage
4:15
So that's pretty remarkable. You can also use that USB-C in a pinch if you have to
4:21
and it's actually right on the end here. You just pop this little cover off, and there's a USB-C port
4:27
So Bluetooth 5.2 giving you 15 meters or 50 feet of range
4:33
which is enough that you can have your phone in your big rig in the front
4:39
and you can walk all the way around to the back and check on your load
4:43
and still be connected the entire time. Pretty nice. It also supports dual connect
4:48
so you can connect to two different devices simultaneously, and it will pick the one that's active
4:53
That's actually very slick. The mute button mutes. That's pretty straightforward. And it's all really light. It's 7.4 ounces
5:01
Now you're looking at it, and you're thinking, well, that's great for your right ear, but what if I want to use it on my left ear
5:07
It turns out this thing can actually switch around. So if I want to use it on my left ear, let me just sort of think this through
5:15
So here we go. So now it's ready for my left ear. So the idea is that it has sufficient flexibility that it's really easy to work with
5:25
and then when you want to put it into its charging case, then you just have to, let me sort of figure this out
5:32
you just have to sort of line it up, and what you want to do is you want to actually turn it so the earpiece is facing the base
5:40
and then everything just drops in, and the cool feature there is it shows you the charge of the case
5:49
in nice, bright, visible numbers. So I'm now charging my headset, and my charging case has a 99% charge
5:57
which means I am good to go for a really, really long truck drive
6:02
or a cross-country trip or whatever, with all of this working and helping me actually stay connected
6:09
be able to have conversations with people, all the things I want to do
6:13
So really, really nice design, really simple to work with, and at a very affordable price
6:19
I hope that demo was interesting. This is definitely one you should check out
6:23
But we should talk about the price. So before we get to the price, I am going to ask you to subscribe to my channel
6:30
Just click on that subscribe button. Hit that bell icon for notifications
6:35
Give me a thumbs up if you thought I earned it, and that's great. Now, this, let me pull it out of the charging case again
6:42
This is the Newbie M51 Business Bluetooth Headset, and it's $39.99, currently discounted down to $24.99 at Amazon.com
6:54
That is a wicked good price for something that is actually super useful
6:58
if you spend a lot of time in the car. Now, one of the other things I'll note is that if you use this in the car
7:06
then one nice thing is that the other ear isn't covered, so you'll hear emergency vehicles
7:12
You'll be much more aware of the road than if you had two earpieces in
7:16
or you had headphones on. And in a lot of states, I'm pretty sure wearing headphones
7:20
or two-piece earbuds are illegal because you can't hear the world around you
7:25
If you're an Uber or Lyft driver, you probably want to hear the person talking to you
7:30
if they interrupt you or if they have a question or something, right? So this gives you all of that benefit, and you can be on the phone for hours
7:38
If that's what you want to do, this will absolutely support that
7:42
and it's comfortable, it's easy, it has the different size ear tips
7:46
Lots to like here. It's definitely one to check out. That's all I got. I think I'm going to go for a drive
7:51
It's a beautiful day. So I hope to catch you in my next video
