It's easy to edit photos on your iPhone. Let's go through the steps
0:11
Dave Taylor here and I use my iPhone XS for photos all the darn time. I take hundreds of
0:17
photos a month if not thousands. The thing is is that whatever photo you take it's almost
0:23
always the case that there's a little bit of cropping, maybe adjusting color a little bit
0:28
turning up or down the brightness a little bit. There are little tweaks you can make that makes
0:32
your photo way way better. So a lot of people as far as I can tell post images directly whatever
0:38
they actually photographed that is not optimal. So I wanted to step you through some of the real
0:44
basics of how to edit and improve your photos on your iPhone in iOS using the built-in gallery
0:51
editing tools. So let's jump onto my phone and I'll talk you through what we're doing
0:56
All right so the first thing I'm doing here is I'm trying to actually get a reasonable frame
1:00
for this picture of hot sauce but of course ultimately this photo as you can see is kind of
1:07
far away so I'm going to want to crop that pretty tight because I really just want the bottles of
1:13
hot sauce and nothing else going on here. So first thing that you do is once you've taken a photo
1:19
tap on the preview of the photo on the lower corner whether you're horizontally or vertically
1:25
oriented. I have this horizontally oriented so it's better actually with the video. Now you can
1:31
see here I've tapped on the crop tool and then you can just sort of tap and drag as you go along
1:38
and tighten it up however you want. As soon as you stop it zooms in and I'm looking at this and I'm
1:44
thinking hmm I'd like to be even a little tighter so I can drag it further and every time you move
1:51
it you can see the entire image in the background which means you haven't lost anything yet. You can
1:57
actually zoom back out. Now I want to adjust the color. I want to make it a little more colorful
2:03
so you can see I've tapped on the little sort of incremented meter there. So first one I did is
2:09
color and now I'm going to do brightness just to make it a little lighter to make it look better
2:20
And here we are in the vertical orientation and that is a huge improvement over our original photo
2:27
That's all it takes. It's really easy. So what I would recommend is I would recommend you take
2:34
some photos or just use the photos already on your phone and just practice all these
2:39
different techniques. There is a lot of power in the iOS editing suite so it might look like it's
2:46
just rudimentary tools but even those can make your photos better. But it's totally worth learning
2:51
how to do this because the extra 60 to 90 seconds and in actuality that took me about 70 seconds to
2:58
go from that picture of my kitchen with all the distractions down to that tight bright and vivid
3:04
image of just the hot sauce bottles. That was 75 seconds well spent because the image is way better
3:10
now. So that's all I got. Nice quick short and sweet tutorial. I hope this is helpful. Go ahead

and subscribe if you're so inclined and I will catch you in my next video
