Around the neck gamer headphones. Let's check these out
0:11
Dave Taylor here and you know, whether you're a gamer or you're doing a lot of video conferencing
0:16
Having headphones and a microphone work out pretty well and you're gonna sound better and you're gonna hear better
0:22
Than if you're just using what's on your laptop, right? So for gamers
0:26
It's especially important because you have a spatial sense and orientation in the good games
0:32
You can hear behind you and then say oh someone's coming up behind me and turn around and not get killed
0:38
That's a good thing But gamer headphones tend to be flashy kind of dorky looking and sort of aimed at that teen set
0:46
Now there are some really amazing ones and they do lighting up and there's all sorts of features and stuff
0:52
But fundamentally it's pretty hard to avoid that you're wearing big clunky headphones with a big boom mic sticking in front of your mouth
0:59
So that might be fine if you're gaming at 2 in the morning But if you're on the phone on a video chat with the boss, that's not gonna be a great look
1:07
So enter one more now one more makes great audio gear and this is a really interesting entry
1:14
This is their spearhead VR in ear headphones and They actually offer some of the features of gaming headphones amazingly enough in this simple design and
1:28
Obviously you just wear it around your neck and you put these in your ears and you're good to go
1:33
Now the controls are all on the left side. So there's three buttons
1:39
So this is sort of a classic three button design where you have pause play power
1:45
On and off and you know various other answer phone call hang up phone call various features all loaded into one button and
1:52
Then you have plus and minus which is volume up and down or if you push and hold
1:57
Then it's next track previous track. So all pretty cool pretty straightforward and you can see the designs pretty nice
2:04
There's this little bar on the outside on each side. That is where the cable connects to I
2:09
Kind of thought that it was gonna be like some touch sensitive thing and I could drag my finger up and down it's not so
2:17
Maybe the next generation But that would probably increment the price a little bit having to put those sensors in
2:22
Be that as it may these are pretty sweet and one of the fun things about these is they do light up
2:27
They do actually have customizable LED lighting now. Don't get too excited because there's four modes
2:33
There's often on that's two modes is pretty easy, right and then there's heartbeat and breathe and what I'm talking about is
2:41
I'm talking about this part on the earbud and here's a little close-up
2:44
This is breathe mode and you can see it's just this very slow
2:49
The light comes on the light goes off the light comes on and you can turn that on or off
2:56
You can have it on all the time. It can't actually activate to your music
3:01
It doesn't have any audio feedback that it's listening to what you're listening to. It's a pretty simple mechanism, but still it's fun
3:08
Right, so it's cool to have that as an option and I like when companies are creative about these things now
3:14
The actual earbuds are pretty sophisticated. They're using dual drivers with a titanium diaphragm and graphene drivers
3:23
They sound really good. We'll come back to the sound in a little bit One of the other interesting things they do is that when you're using these and you're using your voice and you're
3:32
Speaking because they do have a built-in microphone. I think the microphone is like right here
3:37
What it's doing is it's also listening to the environmental sound around you and doing what they call
3:44
Environmental noise cancelling so for phone calls that gets rid of a lot of the background noise now
3:50
Don't be confused because this is not active noise cancelling for the earbuds themselves
3:55
This is not ANC. This is just for phone calls But hey
3:59
that's probably when you most want to actually be able to have all of the kids screaming or
4:05
You know mom yelling down the stairs stop gaming already. It's 3 in the morning, right
4:10
You want all that gone, right? You don't want your friends saying dude your mom So all of that is gonna be managed by this environmental noise cancelling and in fact using this for phone calls
4:22
It sounds really good. Now you will as we you would with sound also
4:27
You'll want to tweak and pick different ear tips and it comes with six different sets of ear tips
4:32
We'll look in the box in just a second But pick the right ones and you want to have the right size to get the music sound really good and it makes a world
4:40
of difference particularly on bass But you also want to have it where it sounds good for phone calls and you know, it's always stereo obviously
4:49
So if you really don't like that you can just have one in and you can still use it just as normal for a phone call or a video chat or
4:56
Skype or zoom call whatever so easy enough now a couple of limitations number one
5:02
It's Bluetooth 4.2 and the latest standard is Bluetooth 5.0 Probably not a huge issue, but it does limit the range a little bit
5:12
So it's 10 meters range and I had it work fine I had my phone sitting in the garage and I was walking around my house and up and down my street and it worked
5:22
You know well until I got pretty far away Still Bluetooth 5 would have been nice and it has no AAC or no APTX
5:32
Those are giving you even more dynamic range on iPhones or Android phones or other devices
5:39
Confusingly pretty much everything uses APTX except for the iPhone line Which uses AAC which means the Mac if you have an iMac or a MacBook that uses APTX
5:51
Even though the iPhone uses AAC not sure why Apple can't just pick one standard and work with it
5:58
Why can't they have the standard that everyone else uses? It's another story, right? So these let's just talk about low latency
6:05
so if you want to watch movies if you want to like pair this with an iPad or an Android tablet or even your
6:12
TV if you have a TV with a Bluetooth transmitter, and if you don't you can get one
6:16
I've reviewed many of them here on my channel definitely worth checking out but lots of options and
6:22
You can watch TV and you're not gonna get any weird confusing sync issues where it's like the person's lips are moving
6:29
But the sound is coming a half a second later. So low latency 10 meter range good phone calls
6:36
And from a charging perspective you charge these up and you know again, here's another thing
6:41
I'm not a huge fan of is it uses micro USB I am NOT a fan of micro USB because it's an oriented connector
6:50
And if you put the plug-in upside down you can actually mess up the the connector
6:56
That's just bad design USB C would be much better, but they chose micro USB
7:02
It's on the side with the controls you plug it in and it takes
7:07
approximately an hour for a full charge and that gets you six hours of listening or talk or play time if you are going to
7:14
use these as a gamer and They have a fast charge mode, too
7:18
so if you're using these and it says running out of battery or low battery a
7:23
10 minute charge will give you three hours of listening. So that's really nice
7:27
So you can use that as a bio break in your game Or between meetings right and then that gets you three more hours
7:34
So all very nice You are gonna have to fiddle with the little cover to get the micro USB and then make sure you orient it correctly
7:42
You can manage it now before we talk about the sound. Let's look in the box
7:47
So I love one more packaging that always do such a good job
7:50
And as is their trademark the inside shows you sort of like engineering sketches of the product
7:57
I really like that. Maybe it's a little nerdy on my part, but hey, I own it
8:02
So we'll pull this out and I've sort of already unpacked it so I can see what's what but comes with instructions
8:10
comes with a Sort of vinyl carrying bag that you might or might not use
8:16
Comes with micro USB charging cable comes with a catalog of all their other products
8:23
Comes with their little bear sticker I kind of like that and the most important thing close it back up is it comes with a set of
8:33
six different Eartips so they're different sizes and different styles the ones that are on by default are actually large
8:42
I think but there are different sizes You can crack this open try different ones find the ones that work best for you
8:49
That's super important which leads us to the sound these sound really good
8:55
So as I've said before I'm really impressed by one more they do really good audio gear and this is just another in their lineup and
9:04
You know whether you're listening for the rumble of tanks or jet fighters overhead because you're in a game
9:10
That's a first-person shooter or whether you just want to hear the nuance of your secretary
9:15
Telling you what you need to be working on tomorrow all of that
9:18
It's all gonna sound really good If you want to listen to music then obviously these sound great with music for this
9:24
I was auditioning it with some great classic electronica Katara Vangelis And you know music like that and some thievery
9:35
Corporation and all of it just sounded rich and lush and there was a great soundstage and a lot of presence and they're super
9:42
Comfortable so I wore these over the last few days probably for like 15 or 20 hours
9:48
Obviously I had to pause occasionally and charge them, but they are so comfortable
9:52
They're really really light and you will actually forget that you have them on
9:57
Because they're so easy to work with unlike heavy headphones, especially for you gamers
10:02
You know, this is not something where you have this big heavy thing
10:07
Jam it into your skull and covering up your ears or anything
10:10
This is all you got and it's super comfortable. Very easy to use. All the controls are right here and
10:18
Yeah, actually It's a little weird to talk with earbuds in but it's really easy to work with and really easy to listen to
10:26
Really nice. They're really a good option And you know Like I said whether you're a gamer or whether you just want to do video
10:34
Videoconferencing or whether you just want to listen to music while you're gardening All of these are great cases for this or great use cases. These would be good for sports though
10:43
They don't have any IPX rating So if you're out running and it starts to rain or you're super sweaty, I don't know what's gonna happen. They might not know either
10:53
If that's you then these might not be exactly what you want
10:56
You want to look for some sports in-ear headphones or earbuds? But generally speaking, these are really nice really comfortable really good sound lots to like about them
11:07
So let's talk about the price But before we get to the price, I'm gonna ask if you can subscribe to my channel. I get lots of gear
11:15
I'm super honest and candid. I'll tell you what's good I'll tell you what's not so good and I will always be straight and not only that but I answer comments
11:25
I think I'm probably one of the seven people on YouTube that answer comments
11:29
so if you have questions about a product or if you just want to give me some feedback leave a comment and I will
11:35
See it and I will respond. So unless you're talking about my hair and then I won't respond and you're like what
11:41
People leave comments about my hair. Is there something is there something wrong with my hair
11:46
Just kidding. Anyway, subscribe click it tap it. There's a little button right there on the corner
11:50
So really appreciate when you do that now, let's wrap this up
11:56
these are And I'm a big fan. These are the one more spearhead VR Bluetooth in-ear headphones and they are
12:07
$49.99 at amazon.com They are definitely worth checking out if you're a gamer and you want to try something different
12:14
These will rock your world because they sound really good and they're way less invasive
12:20
But if you just want to have better sound and something a little more subtle when you're on your video chats or whatever
12:26
These also are a really great option. So with that I'm actually going back
