Hello, Who, What, Where? I am Nicola Coughlin
0:02
and I'm here to answer your burning questions about Bridgerton season three. Three words to describe Penelope this season
0:13
Determined, changed, and romantic. And I mean romantic as a noun. She is aromantic
0:19
I have my three favourite looks for Penelope this season. I have nicknames for them, which I can't tell you because it's too spoilery
0:26
it's been released the image of when you know Luke and I are stood in the dark in a garden and I have
0:32
my wig is long and flowing that dress when I tried on only the fabric for that in my first costume
0:39
fitting I got tears in my eyes because I'd been waiting for the moment that she'd get the
0:42
transformation so that has a really special place she's lady whistle down so I have a coat that is
0:50
so gorgeous it's you know I don't often get to wear stuff like that it's a lot of gowns very
0:55
beautiful gowns. And then there's a third one which I just can't tell you about at all, you'll just have to
1:00
wait and see it. That's a really good one. I feel like because a lot of the, we have a lot of really delicate fabrics and flowing
1:11
fabrics and layering, I feel like currencies in Prada, with that beautiful gauzy dress
1:18
that Hunter Schaeffer wore on the red carpet, maybe something like that
1:22
If she was in the modern era, I feel like she could wear that maybe. My favorite Bridgerton moment to film, it's definitely this season
1:29
I know I'm hugely biased, but it's been my favorite season to film. Because also as an actor, I really love just one-on-one scenes with other actors
1:38
because it's when you can really get into the nitty-gritty and properly explore character development and the dynamic all of that stuff So there was so many scenes with Luke I always love the scenes dancing with them I have done since season one And then strangely enough the intimacy scenes
1:53
I really adore them because you're given a lot of time, support and space on set in those days
1:58
So you feel a lot of freedom in a strange way, which you might not expect
2:02
So I loved those. And then there's a lot of the scenes that were from the books
2:07
Whenever we filmed one of those scenes, there was a different energy on set that day. And it felt like something special
2:12
and something that we knew the fans were invested and excited to see
2:16
Penelope and Colin's relationship this season, it's just beautiful. They have always been two people who've had this deep bond since they were little kids
2:25
and they speak about that a little bit, you know, in the first few episodes of when they met
2:29
and he fell off his horse because her bonnet flew off. And I think when they met as kids, they were very much on equal footing
2:34
And then that very quickly changed when they entered into society, when we meet at the beginning of season one
2:39
when they feel like they've been thrust into the adult world, but they're not really ready to be a part of it
2:46
and they both know that deeply. So then when we meet them in season three
2:50
they have matured an awful lot because they've both gone through things. But Penelope has decided that she's, you know, not ready for love
2:57
She doesn't care about love, in fact. She's just going to move on. You see that connection they have
3:02
It's always there, but thankfully the power dynamics shift, which they had to do because she always had him on this pedestal
3:08
then he knocked himself off it by like making fun of her at her mother's ball and all this stuff but
3:14
I think deep down it's like a soulmate connection they just have to wait until they're in the right
3:21
place for one another and when they do it's just really magical my favorite memory working with
3:26
Luke it not like one particular memory I think it just an overriding thing of working with an that is so selfless so kind I just always felt supported And I think because it such a long job it you know it it it grueling Even if you
3:44
adore it, which I do, it's, it's, it's really exhausting. But having like a partner there who
3:48
was like a real teammate and that had your back. So I think just the overriding feeling
3:52
and it's funny because we watched some stuff today that we hadn't yet seen in the show. and it made me cry and I just was like god what an experience like when I'm old and gray I'll
4:01
sit back and I'll be like what a great time I had with that great guy Penelope has taught me
4:05
personal lessons in every season because she's changed so much I think this one what was
4:10
interesting for me was that there's the whole theme of Penelope having to step out of the shadows
4:15
and into the light and take up space I think sometimes I struggle with that because I I mean
4:21
people always roll their eyes when actors go well I'm an introvert and they go you couldn't possibly
4:25
be they say experts get their energy from being around people i really don't i need to like shut
4:30
myself away and be like quiet and you know even in my family people be like oh my gosh are you
4:35
the loud one i'm like not at all like i'm definitely the quietest so i've had to learn
4:39
how to step from the supporting role into the leading role and so it's something she had to do
4:44
in the show and i felt like i'm having to do in my real life but it's like the learning curve every
4:47
day we're still going Lady Whistledown, what it is in the time in which it existed
4:54
it was, there was power in the gossip, you know? Women had so little agency, so I feel like if we apply it to nowadays
5:02
how can women have power and change things? I feel like she would be a real feminist and she would be advocating for women to have the job
5:13
have the husband, have everything. I feel like she would motivate. You know I don think that she started that column for any nefarious reason I think she just needed to find her voice And it was a release for her and a way for her to feel power So yeah I think it was nowadays I think she would spend her time empowering other women
5:33
One of the biggest things that has helped my skin was growing up in the west of Ireland where it rains 95% of the time
5:38
and we don't get a lot of direct, harsh sunlight. I also couldn't afford to go on sun holidays
5:43
so being broke was wonderful for my skin because I couldn't go and fry myself under the sun, which I absolutely would have done, I can tell you
5:51
I also really revel in skincare. I've always really enjoyed it. Like when I was younger, like I did a lot of retail jobs and some of them centered around skincare
6:01
So when I was like 19, my boss said to me, like, you have to start using eye cream
6:05
and you have to start moisturizing your neck because that's the first place you see signs of aging
6:09
and the skin is thin. And I would love to say I've taken every good bit of advice in my life
6:13
I totally haven't, but that's something that stuck with me. But what's great is nowadays, young people are so much more attuned into skincare
6:20
But what they don't realize is we had like that scrub that basically took off a layer of your epidermis every single time you used it
6:26
And frying your skin really, really dry and then not moisturizing it because you thought moisturizer would give you spots
6:32
But like, I think moisturizer is like the most important thing that you can put on your skin
6:37
And also, I think a silly thing, but like also accept the imperfections in your skin as well, because I have super like super dark circles
6:45
I've had them since I was a kid, but I'm not gonna get stressed about that
6:49
Some people are like, how do I fix them? I'm like, sometimes you don't need to fix. Sometimes you can put concealer on and that is totally fine
6:54
The imperfections, everybody has them and if you think they don't, I promise you they do
6:59
