Visit West Hollywood’s Storied Sunset Marquis

One of West Hollywood's top luxury hotels and a destination with a storied musical past

Sunset Marquis is a coveted place for celebrities and travelers to stay while visiting the Los Angeles area

Home to Nightbird Studios, one of the top recording studios in the world, where everyone from Aerosmith to U2 to Usher have recorded hits

This resort-like sanctuary is within walking distance of the famous sunset strip

And you never know who you might see while staying here. Clause Messner is showing me around the hotel and bar 1,200

I've seen a lot of recognizable faces in these photos. Oh, absolutely, yeah

This was the place, you know, where people came. They went down to the recording studio, worked down there at the same time they came up here

The sunset was the first one with a real professional setup where you could record

24 having a full professional top recording studio combined with the hotel was unique at that time and still seems to be unique nowadays Well I already seen a few celebrities in my short time here so I can only imagine what going to happen tonight when I come down to the bar and have a few drinks

Who knows, I may even go cut a record. Bands can roll into the parking garage and surface inside the hotel's enclave where they can lounge pool side, grab a drink or record, away from the paparazzi

To service the entertainment industry, we do have an underground parking option for two buses

which try to sneak in and sneak out and being less seen

You know, that's how I was rolling in today. I appreciated that you did that for me

It's really... Absolutely. Absolutely great. I mean, he looked amazing on our security system

What I think is cool is that I could actually stay here as a traveler amongst the great stars of our day and stars of the past

Well, and as you said, you've been part of the world. of that now based on your entrance

Yeah, that's true. Thanks for that. So you don't have to be an A-lister to feel like one

On your trip to West Hollywood
