Oh my God, I am obsessed with you, Josh
0:02
This is such a good question. I love this. I knew I should have made my Instagram private
0:10
You know, the daughter I used to know would open with, Hi, Dad. Hi, Dad
0:16
I'll take it. Hug for your old man. Come on. Thank you
0:24
Why are you here? I thought Italy was the one place you'd never come
0:28
Well, I'm making an exception for you, my loving daughter, who took off in the dead of night
0:32
It's called a red eye. With barely a word. I sent you a very detailed WhatsApp. What's up
0:37
What? You disappeared. I'm on social media every day. And then you somehow end up buying an Italian villa
0:42
If you meant to activate the dad bat signal? I didn't. Well, you did. Big time
0:46
You know what? Suit yourself, bad dad. I'm going to drop you off at the hotel. I'm meeting with the mayor to go house shopping
0:52
House shopping? Mm-hmm. So it's not a done deal. Excellent. I'm not too late
0:58
You think you're gonna stop me? I need coffee for this. Congratulations on the movie It such a fun time I had I had a blast watching it Hell yes thank you Thank you so much Obviously Italy plays a huge role in like establishing the vibe and kind of tone of the movie
1:14
I'm curious as someone who's worked in theater and on film, if you find one medium helps you immerse, like, immerse you in the story more than another, because obviously filming on location is different from performing, like, in the Walker Care
1:27
Absolutely. I think they're just night and day. And in such different ways, they both
1:33
are very immersed. Definitely the location aspect of filming makes it feel a little methody
1:38
because you're just like living, especially because of the story that this specific character has
1:43
But also the liveliness and how exhilarating and obviously, like, continuous theater is
1:52
doesn't compare to anything in the world, in my opinion. It's just I love it more than anything
1:56
And so I think that in the moment emotionally is, I think let's say this
2:01
When it comes to storytelling, emotionally, I feel. obviously the point eight point B point C trajectory in a more logical sense more in theater but then when it comes to like the method of it all it obviously so incredibly immersive to be where your where the character is living and be experiencing a lot of the things that she is as well
2:21
But they're in very different ways both incredibly immersing. I've said that word ten times
2:27
Yeah, yeah, that's so interesting. Right from the start of the movie, we learned that Olivia is a super ambitious character
2:36
She's got, you know, large goals and she kind of goes out and gets what she wants. If this were a musical and Olivia had an I Want song
2:43
When we meet her at the beginning of the story What do you think she would sing about? Oh my God, I am obsessed with you, Josh
2:49
This is such a good question. I love this. I think it'd be like, kind of like those songs
2:56
that it starts being like, I used to be a drift But now I've found my purpose type thing
3:01
She'd be singing about like, now that she's on her own. I love this question
3:06
It's so much fun. Now that she's on her own, she can see the path clear And like she wants to feel whole and find herself again after so much grief
3:17
Oh, love this question. I am picturing it all I can just see her in the middle of the like the town square just belting You know it a belty song You know it a belty song I can help my self
3:31
I read that you and Scott Foley didn't meet until you arrived on set. How did you go about building that dynamic with him, father-daughter dynamic
3:38
It was awesome. It was so easy. You never know how it's going to go
3:43
And we did have, we had a Zoom like for like 10 minutes before
3:49
but we definitely didn't know each other by any means. And it was just so easy
3:54
It was so easy. Scott is wonderful. I'm going to say that 20 times today. But he really is just like an incredible, incredible scene partner and human being
4:06
Like it was really wonderful to work with him and learn from him. So it was easy
4:10
Like I think we both have very, you know what it is? We both have very similar sense of humor
4:14
So like that's how it went. I made a joke and he looked at me and he laughed
4:19
And then he made a joke and I looked at him. And we were like, we get it
4:23
Yeah. On the same wavelength. Yeah, we just had a very similar sense of humor
4:27
And that was what really bonded us quite fast, I would say
