So Ombar sent me this three channel dash cam so I just want to do a quick unboxing and go ahead and install this and see how well it works
0:07
Alright so just taking this out of the box we're going to have a few things
0:11
Right over here is going to be dash cam itself. And so here's a closer look at the dash cam
0:16
Right on top here we're going to have an adhesive. On the side we're going to have a USB-C port
0:20
We're going to have a screen. And then on the side, so this port is going to be for USB-C as well
0:26
and it has this little cap so i can just go ahead and press it right back in for now and then at the
0:31
bottom this is where we're going to have some controls so there's going to be various buttons all around over here so here's the second piece we're going to have another lens right there
0:39
it's going to be attached via usb-c and there's going to be no other controls on it whatsoever
0:45
and we're also going to have this box this is where all the other material is going to be so
0:49
this is yep this is where the user manual is going to be so i got to go ahead and take a look at that
0:52
to make sure I install this correctly. And finally at the bottom we're going to have this box. Here's
0:57
where all the other components are going to be. So all the cables, more parts, another adhesive
1:02
And at the bottom here we're going to have like some clear protectants. And then underneath here
1:07
we're going to have the rest of them. And there they are. All right so the first thing to do is just choose a location for the dash cam. And now I'm going to go ahead and just go it towards the
1:16
passenger side on the right here. And I can just go ahead and just remove this adhesive and then
1:20
just stick it on just like that. So now this piece can fit right up there and this is also magnetic
1:26
so it actually fits in real easily. I just put it in and it goes and sticks in place and now to take
1:31
this whole part off all I have to do is just make sure this is stuck and I can go ahead and slide to
1:36
the right and it comes right off and there's both pieces together. I'll go ahead and put that back
1:41
on for now and now comes the toughest part which is actually the cables. So the first cable I'm
1:46
going to go ahead and put is going to be the power cable and I'm actually going to go ahead and run this through the passenger side so I can just go ahead and connect this part right on top here
1:55
So what I'm doing right now is just lifting some of the part up just so I could slide the wire
2:00
inside and this way it goes ahead and hides it real well. So it's pretty easy just to maneuver
2:05
this in here. So I got all the way to the end here and I want to continue it all the way to
2:10
down here and if I pull a little bit there I can lift that part up just like so and I can squeeze
2:16
the wire through here. All right so now I can kind of lift this rubberized part up and just squeeze
2:21
the wire right through it. So I just wrapped the wire around over here and there was actually a
2:27
hole inside here so I tucked it inside and then just plugged it in over there. So now comes the
2:32
rear camera and this wire is going to be a lot longer but this time it's going to be on the
2:36
driver's side here. So I can just go ahead and just connect this right to the dash cam and then
2:41
do the same thing as before. Just put the cable starting up over here and then wrap it all around
2:46
And then I can pull this part off a little bit so I can tuck the cable in here
3:07
Alright so I reached the end and now I have a lot of slack so I'm just going to see if I can tuck some inside here or tie it up somewhere. All right so this can stay tied up like this. Now
3:26
the last thing to do is just to go ahead and attach the camera to the back. Then you have to remove
3:31
this part and the adhesive as well. And this will go right in the center right there. Now I can go
3:37
ahead and just attach the wires just like so. All right so dash cam is right up there and I'm
3:41
going to go ahead and turn on the car and see what happens and then went ahead and turned on
3:46
so I can also remove this plastic here. This is going to be the language so right over here all
3:53
the buttons the one on the left is going to be power this is going to be like up button or I
3:59
think that's a mic this is going to be okay this is going to be camera or down and this is going
4:03
to be M and a lock. So I'll press the middle button for okay. My time zone GMT five. Okay
4:10
And now the date and then click okay. Format card. Okay. SD card is being formatted and there. Oh, that's cool. So yeah, you can go ahead and see me right
4:23
over here in the corner. And then in the back, you can see the sky. So I do actually have to go
4:28
ahead and adjust the camera a bit so it faces downward so then we can see the cars behind us
4:34
So the way the camera moves is I can just swivel it just down like that. All right
4:37
and there. Now that's good. So yeah, let me take a quick trip and see how well this works
4:49
So I forgot to take the little sticker off the camera from the front, so I'm only going to go
4:54
ahead and see the image of my face and of the back when I go ahead and check out the video on the app
5:00
So I went ahead and downloaded the app for OnCam right over here and I just have to go ahead and
5:04
just connect to the Wi-Fi. So if I press the button all the way to the right and then I can
5:08
just go ahead and cycle through these. It's right there Wi-Fi and go ahead and click okay and then
5:13
it's currently off so let me turn it on. Okay so I have to go to settings and right over here this
5:18
is what shows up for the Wi-Fi so I can go ahead and click that and then the password I believe it
5:23
I said it was one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight
5:27
Then join. Let me click add dash cam again. All right, so now it's loading and yeah
5:33
it gives me a live video preview. And so if I put my hand here
5:38
yeah, it goes ahead and does it. And now switch cameras. All I have to do is just press this button here and it goes from the front camera to the face camera to the back camera I can also do audio recording So audio recording is off You got the little shut off And now it audio is recording
5:53
Now dash cam albums. So I'll click. Anka would like to access your photos
5:58
So I will allow access to all photos. And this was when I was messing with it in the beginning
6:02
So right here. This is like when I was driving. And you can go ahead and see the back
6:09
And because of the way I positioned the camera, there's going to be this black thing all the way at the top
6:14
It kind of looks like a rainbow in a sense that never leaves. And there's actually going to be, of course, three separate videos
6:19
And now this over here, all these great videos are going to be from the front camera when I went driving
6:23
Because, again, I forgot to take off the little sticker for it. But here's a quick video of what the front camera looks like when I was just sitting in the car here
6:30
And I went ahead and removed the sticker and turned it on. And I can. So let me just go
6:35
So this is the back camera right now. And I also have an option for video resolution
6:38
so it says please stop recording first so okay and then you can hear me as well too now if i want
6:43
to go ahead and download some of these videos i can press this button at the bottom and then i can
6:47
go ahead and just select whichever ones i want and press the bottom again and it'll go ahead and
6:52
download but i'll click cancel for now so at the upper right or corner we're going to have some settings and these are going to be dash cam settings so the first thing is going to be the
6:59
resolution so our first one is going to be the highest resolution at 2k and then 1080p for the
7:04
other two cameras or 1080p for all cameras which i'll actually keep it like that loop recording
7:10
so one two or three minutes encoding format h.264 frequency 60 hertz wdr date and time gps info
7:21
speed slam audio settings so the volume was at low otherwise i can change it to medium or high
7:26
audio recording yep i do want it to record audio key tone parking mode off g sensor mid
7:32
screen saver always light speed unit miles per hour system settings language english wi-fi and
7:38
then right here you can see what the wi-fi name is and the wi-fi password synchronized time time
7:42
zone fatigue driver reminder gps information car plate number sd card info 4.7 gigabytes full out
7:49
of the 60 that i was included if i want i can format the sd card or format reminding reset and
7:54
about and whenever i go back to the app it's always going to go ahead and start recording
7:59
and I can also go ahead and just switch in between the cameras and here you can see me
8:04
right there waving or I can switch to the back camera and of course nothing's going to happen
8:09
because I'm parked. So now to actually mess with the dash cam there's going to be all these buttons
8:13
at the bottom which you can't see there's going to be one two three four five buttons the bottom
8:16
left button is just going to go ahead and shut off the screen but it's still recording and I can
8:21
press it again and now this button over here this is just going to go up or it's also going to go
8:25
and change the cameras. So right now only the front camera shown
8:30
now the back camera, and now the face cam, and now all three cameras
8:34
Okay this can start and stop recording So right now as you can see on the upper left corner it says stop and when I press okay it goes ahead and records and here you can see it red and recording and now if I press this
8:46
button over here this is going to take a picture so there picture was taken now if I press this
8:51
button this is going to bring me to settings so right here is going to be the menu and the first
8:55
thing is going to be the video settings so here I can change the video resolution loop record
9:00
compression kodak wdr audio recording or light frequency and i can just press the button all the
9:06
way to the right to go back next thing is going to be the playback mode so this i can go ahead and
9:10
choose which types i want to go ahead and play back so normal would be the ones that were recorded
9:14
so i can click okay and if i wanted the front camera i can press okay and then this will show
9:19
me all the videos that were recorded in the front and of course i am going to get some videos that
9:22
are just going to be gray and this is because the sticker was there so i'll just go back and next one
9:26
is going to be interesting. This is going to be parking monitor. So it's currently off, but I can
9:30
have options for this to go ahead and time-lapse one frame per second, or if there's a collision
9:34
but I'll leave it off for now and I'll go back. We're also going to have G-sensor. So we have options for low, middle, or high. I'll leave it there. And then there's going to be wifi. So right
9:42
here, it's currently on. So at 2.4, and this is basically to be able to control it via the app
9:46
So I'll leave it like that. We're going to have stamp. So this is basically what's going to go ahead and show up on the videos, which is going to be the time, the GPS watermark, and the speed
9:54
stamp and then the micro sd card so this is if we want to mess with any of the settings if we want
9:58
to go ahead and format the memory card format reminder see what the storage is like which i'll
10:02
click okay and right now there's 53.5 gigabytes available out of the 58.9 gigabytes total and then
10:09
we're also going to have gps so this gives me the speed unit and then i'm going to see the satellite
10:13
signal right there this is what it gives me and then system settings so this is going to give me
10:17
a ketone so right now of course it's currently on so whenever i press a button that's what you hear
10:21
But if I turn it off Now whenever I move the buttons, there's gonna be no noise and then right here speaker volume
10:28
So we want low middle or high and I'll keep it actually at medium and now language
10:33
Of course, this is gonna be in English, but there's a bunch of other options Dutch French Spanish, I don't know these other languages screen saver mode
10:40
So screen always on screen saver on after one minute screen off after ten minutes
10:45
And I think I'll keep the screen off after one minute now
10:49
there's going to be fatigue driver reminder if i want i can turn it on after two hours three hours
10:53
four hours but i'll leave it off for now and then of course time zone so i'm in the gmpt05 time zone
11:00
so i'll leave it as is date and time license plate default settings want to go ahead and revert
11:05
everything but i don't so i'll go back and now there's going to be about and this just shows me
11:09
my model number and if i want to go ahead and scan this qr code so yeah that's everything for
11:13
all the settings and now i can just go ahead and put this back over here just by sliding it so
11:18
Overall I'm really impressed with this dash cam. I'm excited to keep using it, especially because it has these three channels
11:23
So I'm gonna have a lot of footage over here and if anything ever happens, I'm gonna be safe
11:27
I have what happens in the front, the back, and then my facial reaction
11:31
So yeah, if you're looking for a dash cam, definitely check this one out
