a lot second half they live first half
0:03
second half they just made shots yeah
0:04
what do you feel like your defensive
0:06
lessons are from this game is there
0:07
anything like you're taking away from
0:09
the defensive end of the ball um like I
0:12
said man just get back to the little
0:13
things you know um the the little things
0:15
that matter that that lead into big
0:17
things and tonight some of the little
0:19
things that we didn't do and it led to a
0:21
loss and what do you what do you think
0:23
are the issues for you personally maybe
0:25
the last couple games you had that nice
0:27
run of high-scoring game six seven games
0:30
and then what was it six points the
0:31
other day seven points I think tonight
0:33
what what what are the issues that
0:35
you're facing have you become a Marked
0:36
Man for some of these
0:38
defenses there's no issues at all you
0:40
know Miss Miss shots and it happens you
0:42
know it happens it happened last game
0:43
happened this game um yeah just missing
0:46
shots you know it's B shots going to go
0:49
in shots not going to go in but my
0:51
confidence still super high I'm still
0:52
going to shoot shots still going to play
0:55
agressive being
0:58
in you guys didn't go to the free throw
1:01
line in the second half was that a
1:03
product of settling for jumpers and not
1:05
being as aggressive as you maybe needed
1:07
to be um if you want to say that you
1:09
know I feel like jumpers that we took
1:11
were open
1:13
you the majority of them I feel like was
1:15
open uh we missed them and it paid off
1:19
for their
1:20
defense tell us about the dunk on Sal he
1:23
had to run in start you coed it back on
1:26
yeah um just made a play in transition
1:28
SC the basket
1:32
there's a period in the second half
1:33
there that you guys went scoreless for
1:35
about six minutes was there anything
1:36
that Wick forus did differently or was
1:39
the offense just kind of out of
1:41
syn Miss
1:45
shot how would you say the M of the
1:47
locker room
1:50
um I mean how we feel after loss you
1:52
know regular just you know just having
1:56
you got to get back you got to get
1:57
better you know sorry about the
1:58
everybody head his ass get back getting
1:59
better
2:00
and watch the nice game what was the
2:03
coach's message to the team after the
2:05
game
2:07
um that we can do it you know uh he has
2:10
a lot of faith in us uh and he sees it
2:13
and we all see where we can be it's not
2:15
time to really do it it's time to put
2:17
what we see and what we know we can be
2:19
like to action and get it
2:22
done thank you appreciate you stopping
2:25
by no problem no problem we'll see you
2:27
Saturday take advantage of that
2:28
opportunity yeah was just defensively I
2:30
felt like all night like even though we
2:33
weren't hitting shots I feel like
2:34
scoring wasn't really a big problem I
2:36
think it was just getting stops
2:38
defensively and that's what it just came
2:39
down to and I know that the defense I
2:41
mean that's something that you guys have
2:42
been Haring on a lot you talked um with
2:45
us about how after theu game right you
2:47
guys are watching film for like an hour
2:49
um anything that maybe coach Davis
2:52
pointed out there and recent film
2:54
sessions that you can point and say oh
2:56
we didn't do this or that today I think
2:59
it it was this one-on-one match ups like
3:02
just gar one-onone I feel like we did
3:03
good with their actions but when they
3:05
after their actions they're just playing
3:07
one-on-one and we just kept fouling and
3:08
going morees midnight so the I guess the
3:13
defending what fouling sing into the
3:16
line then on the other end I guess
3:18
second half I don't think you guys shot
3:20
any free throws was that a I know in the
3:23
Stamford game coach Davis was talking
3:25
about like the length was kind of
3:26
disrupting you guys in driving to Lane
3:28
like what do you think it was that you
3:30
guys from getting to the line
3:32
Second
3:33
um I'm not too sure right now I think
3:37
that's something I I would have to look
3:38
at like watching the game over it's kind
3:40
of hard to tell like while I'm play dur
3:43
your stretch of 10 straight points you
3:45
were aggressive going to the basket
3:47
seemed like in the second half none of
3:48
you guys could be do that against them
3:50
was it did they change something they
3:52
were doing or what was it differ um just
3:56
the way they're going to ball screen was
3:58
pretty different they had somebody
4:00
standing under the rim the whole time so
4:02
it was kind of for me that's that's kind
4:04
of how I penetrate how I get to the rim
4:06
is off of ball screens and having a man
4:09
there kind of like um disrupted it for
4:12
me sure ell Drake said this is probably
4:14
the most disappointing loss and maybe
4:16
the most disappointed locker room has
4:18
been this year would you say that as
4:19
well yeah for sure especially coming off
4:21
of another like disappointed loss how do
4:24
you process it how are you guys able to
4:27
turn this into something positive moving
4:29
forward just learning from it just
4:31
watching it learning from it U there's
4:34
been so many games like onepoint game
4:36
two-point game you just have to learn
4:38
how to get over that hump as a team are
4:40
they different things in these different
4:42
these games that you guys are losing
4:43
these one position games or is it always
4:45
something different or is there a Common
4:47
Thread ultimately and in something that
4:49
maybe you don't do either late or during
4:51
the course of the game that puts you in
4:52
that situation oh I think it's pretty
4:54
different most of the games I think
4:55
tonight it was just playing defense and
4:59
not hitting jots ell are you concerned
5:01
this thing's going the wrong way for you
5:03
guys no I'm definitely not concerned I
5:05
feel like all the games we're losing is
5:08
like one point so um I'm definitely not
5:10
concerned I feel like we can win all
5:13
these games we just yeah I feel like we
5:15
can win all these games Another Thing
5:17
Drake said is that trust needs to be
5:19
stronger now and that something it needs
5:21
to improve how do you as as a starter
5:26
get Galvanize this team to trust one
5:28
another at a higher level you guys have
5:30
trust in each other um I just think
5:33
talking communicating I think off the
5:34
court as well um and I feel like I'm the
5:37
point guard I'm the excep of the coach I
5:40
could I could be better in that and I
5:41
could just have us come together more
