hey Hubert right here out outside of the
0:07
first half yesterday against St you guys
0:08
have been one of the best teams in the
0:09
country in terms of not turning the ball
0:11
over obviously tonight 10 turnovers to
0:13
only seven assists what did alurn do
0:14
defensively to make like T for you guys
0:17
well I mean I think it was more than
0:19
just turnovers you know I you
0:23
know from a defensive standpoint I felt
0:26
like they were running their offense
0:28
like they do in shoot around they just
0:29
didn't realist defensively at all um
0:32
there was no presence for us uh
0:35
defensively we had Spurs but
0:38
nothing um sustained on the defensive
0:42
end and
0:45
um you know one of the things that I
0:47
always talk to the team about is is for
0:50
us to be good we have to live in a dwell
0:54
in the trenches and what's in the
0:55
trenches are the loose balls the
0:57
rebounds the setting screens getting
0:59
through screen
1:00
um those toughness plays and Auburn won
1:04
all of them the entire game
1:10
and they they were better than
1:14
us youber I was going to ask you about
1:17
that actually the the assertiveness they
1:19
played with did you did you feel like
1:21
you're talking about living in the
1:22
trenches you sure saw the aggressiveness
1:26
that you guys need to play with from
1:27
Auburn
1:28
tonight yeah I mean you know I've said
1:31
before that we've early in the season
1:34
we've had spurts of that but the the
1:37
next step for us is to start there and
1:39
to stay there for a full 40 minutes it's
1:41
also nice to have a guy like room yeah
1:44
yeah I mean he's just he's just the best
1:46
player on the floor and he wasn't even
1:47
close I and there's a reason why he's
1:51
First Team all americ he has a chance to
1:53
be National player of the year it it
1:56
looked things looked slow to him he just
2:00
wasn't rushed he was patient whether we
2:04
doubled whether he was by himself
2:06
whether he was running the floor he just
2:09
um he's in full command of his game and
2:13
he does so many things for this team
2:15
generate shots for other guys he can
2:17
score he can shoot from three he can
2:20
finish around the basket he can draw
2:22
fouls he's good defensively he can
2:25
protect the paint and he's an excellent
2:28
passer as well I mean he dominated this
2:30
entire game he was he's the best player
2:32
in the four and I don't think it was
2:33
even close youber there was a stretch in
2:36
that second half Auburn misses a free
2:38
throw they get three consecutive they
2:40
keep it alive get three consecutive
2:42
offensive rebounds ends in a three you
2:44
call timeout right after that uh what
2:46
were you kind of saying to those guys
2:47
and what specifically about that
2:49
sequence did you not like well was the
2:51
same thing about the trenches you know
2:53
it's and and I've said that it has
2:56
nothing to do about physical size it has
2:58
it does with with the as of one's heart
3:01
and that you know we have to be able to
3:04
rebound the basketball we have to be
3:06
able to get those loose balls we have uh
3:09
to play with composure um in situations
3:13
and in games like this and I just felt
3:15
like we lost our way and uh didn't do
3:18
the things that uh we normally do out
3:20
there on the
3:22
floor anything else for
3:24
Coach thanks for being here coach all
3:26
right thanks everybody thanks
