3:43
yeah so it comes from my dad's from
3:48
my mom from puerto rico and uh my dad
3:51
father's name nalina which is a common
3:53
indian name and i've heard that it means
3:55
lotus flower but my mom was like that
3:57
doesn't sound latina enough
4:06
welcome to the show nalini welcome to
4:11
absolutely and i'm proud and honored to
4:15
that suede's universe could be is one of
4:17
the platforms that'll be streaming this
4:18
amazing concert that's taking place
4:22
uh can you talk about the calls and how
4:28
absolutely um so you know it's been a
4:31
hell of a 2020 and a 2021 um with this
4:36
a lot of people have been out of jobs
4:40
um a lot of people who have been caring
4:42
for us for a really long time health
4:45
care workers nurses teachers they
4:47
haven't gotten the care that they need
4:49
um and so we've been telling members of
4:52
congress that they need to go big and go
4:54
hard for our communities past universal
4:58
let's get more money into public
5:01
let's make sure that everybody who is
5:05
everybody who is unemployed
5:07
has something to support them for the
5:10
long-term recovery because we didn't do
5:11
that in 2008 when we had a financial
5:15
and of course we need to we need to
5:19
always make sure that we're taking care
5:20
of our planet with those wildfires we're
5:23
seeing from greece to california so
5:25
we've got to invest in things that
5:28
actually take care of our planet let's
5:31
make it resilient so we could live and
5:33
our grandchildren can live and our seven
5:35
generations after that so that's why we
5:37
out here and we started talking to
5:41
come on we out here the artist you know
5:46
it is so who's like joined the cars
5:49
and and so all of these artists sweetie
5:52
by the way who is a bay area uh royalty
5:54
right you know right now sweetie and and
5:57
and snow the product and all of these
5:59
artists white clef neo they did they
6:04
jumped on board people heard the message
6:06
um we were telling them we also wanted
6:09
have a multi-racial event
6:12
so and an intergenerational event which
6:14
is why we got the legendary baby staples
6:17
here come on i'll take
6:25
exactly so we wanted to make sure that
6:27
young old black white latino whatever
6:30
you are you could come out to be free
6:33
and we're the vips of this event are
6:35
essential workers so essential workers
6:37
will have the first 100 to 300 seats so
6:40
these are grocery store workers folks
6:42
who've been unemployed artists who have
6:44
been from that they're the folks who are
6:46
going to be at the front and the vips of
6:48
the civil war oh i love that
6:50
i love it too uh so so
6:53
