i hear they're trying to make a
0:02
documentary
0:03
you know note this for all it's worth
0:05
right to that investigation show
0:07
y'all haven't reached out to talk to me
0:08
but i'm happy to talk
0:10
i'm happy to tell you exactly what i've
0:12
said over and over and over again
0:15
you want to know why because it's true
0:18
if i did do these things why am i still
0:20
on social media
0:22
i genuinely don't know why youtube still
0:24
allows him on the platform
0:27
he is a serial abuser a
0:30
sexual predator he is a monster it makes
0:34
it
0:34
almost a thriller to find out whether or
0:37
not
0:38
he's going to ever be held accountable
0:40
he needs to be taken off of youtube
0:43
he needs to be put in jail
0:46
[Applause]
0:47
ladies and gentlemen you know him as a
0:50
tv journalist youtube personality
0:52
dateline to catch a predator
0:54
he's done it all good friend of the show
0:57
to win only chris hanson is back chris
0:59
[Applause]
0:59
[Music]
1:01
how you doing man
1:02
[Applause]
1:04
he's doing good chris we gotta have the
1:06
being tracy with me man what's up chris
1:08
good to hear your voice again
1:10
absolutely happy new years
1:13
happy new year um i want to jump right
1:16
into this because
1:18
you know out you know you're doing this
1:20
three-part limited series
1:21
it's about a it's based around a guy by
1:24
the name of greg
1:25
jackson who's known to the world as um
1:27
onision
1:28
um and he was discovered on youtube um
1:31
and throughout the years in the past
1:33
10 to 15 years or so his popularity has
1:36
really grown
1:37
um and in if youtube's popularity has
1:40
really grown
1:41
you know from 2005 to now and
1:44
with that um there's a lot of rocks
1:46
unturned when it comes to
1:48
youtube when it comes to regulations
1:50
when it comes to restrictions and
1:52
when it comes to content creators but
1:54
you narrowed in on this guy
1:56
chris and when chris hansen narrows in
1:58
on you it's kind of like when the feds
2:00
come after you
2:02
you know eventually they're going to
2:04
reach their goal
2:06
what tell me about this guy
2:10
and what made you focus in on him you
2:12
know
2:13
it's funny sway because i started to
2:15
experiment just a little bit in the
2:16
youtube space just to have a presence
2:18
there
2:19
you know i had no idea what this was
2:20
going to turn into and people kept
2:22
coming to me and saying look there's
2:24
this guy he's a predator
2:25
it's onision should look into him and we
2:27
started to dig and dig and we started
2:29
doing some shows on the youtube about
2:30
him
2:31
and we interviewed some other content
2:33
creators who had been looking at him as
2:34
well and we interviewed a lot of his
2:36
victims
2:37
the alleged victims the young women who
2:39
were drawn in by him in almost like a
2:41
cult-like fashion
2:42
and all of a sudden you know we had
2:46
millions and millions of people
2:48
interested in this
2:49
and the picture that was created was of
2:52
this guy who became
2:53
very popular on youtube 0708
2:56
had a massive following of you know
2:59
young
2:59
vulnerable women who related to his
3:04
message of self-help you're good you're
3:06
okay
3:07
and then he turned on them
3:10
in a most vicious way especially the
3:13
ones who
3:13
were invited to the home in washington
3:16
state where he lived
3:18
at the time and we believe still does
3:19
with his spouse kai
3:22
and the the stories that these young
3:24
women tell are
3:25
absolutely shocking
3:28
the predatory behavior the control
3:31
the manipulation the sexual impropriety
3:34
the transmission in some cases allegedly
3:37
of you know
3:38
obscene material to minors it just
3:40
continued to build and he
3:41
thought and i think still does that he's
3:43
untouchable
3:45
and we expose this and what discovery
3:48
plus
3:48
has done in this you know very gripping
3:52
important documentary is peel the onion
3:55
back if you will onision
3:57
and take a real harsh look at not only
3:59
what this
4:00
individual has been doing but also at
4:03
why youtube as a social media platform
4:08
has not done more to regulate what goes
4:10
on there and there's a real
4:11
responsibility there and there's a day
4:13
of reckoning coming
4:15
for both phonician i believe and for
4:18
youtube itself
4:20
chris hanson is here we talked about the
4:21
limited series onision in real life
4:23
streaming on exclusively
4:24
on discovery plus channel um
4:29
one of the people you focus on is shiloh
4:33
who was a uh uprising star at one point
4:37
she was making music i remember she
4:39
opened up the lady gaga because i was
4:41
with mtv doing stuff with mtv and she
4:44
mentioned mentioned in in this series
4:46
that she was
4:47
justin bieber was opening up to her you
4:49
open it up for her
4:51
yeah so she so she was on the rise she
4:53
was
4:54
becoming big and then she ended up
4:57
meeting him
4:58
online when she was 16 or 17 right
5:01
and he and he was and he was still
5:03
married
5:05
and he groomed her into this
5:08
relationship and you see
5:09
how manipulative he is because
5:13
he waited and researched the laws in
5:15
various states and met up with her
5:17
at 17 in pennsylvania because he knew he
5:20
could legally get away with it but the
5:22
relationship although
5:24
consensual at first turned into this
5:27
horrible and you see this
5:29
in the series on discovery plus this
5:32
horrible you know controlling abusive
5:37
you know head shaving uh capturing her
5:39
having his feature and putting it out on
5:41
youtube social media
5:42
talking about how no one would ever
5:45
believe her that he abused her and
5:47
controlled her in this way and
5:48
essentially stole her career and as you
5:50
said
5:51
justin bieber opened for her she was a
5:54
hot rising star in canada and he took
5:56
this all away
5:58
and and she still suffers to this day
6:00
and bravely
6:02
along with you know some other people
6:04
speak out as to what happened
6:06
and and you know paint this picture of a
6:09
guy who
6:10
you know has been able to manipulate the
6:12
system
6:13
on every level to thus far get away with
6:15
this it's not going to go on forever
6:17
i mean investigators are on his tail the
6:19
fbi is investigating the
6:21
pierce county sheriff's department in
6:22
washington is investigating you'll hear
6:24
from the sheriff there
6:26
but he was afforded these tools
6:30
early on as one of the first big
6:33
successful youtube content creators that
6:35
allowed him to manipulate
6:37
to exploit to make millions and millions
6:41
of dollars
6:42
and also attack anybody who questions
6:45
him
6:46
i mean he's launched misinformation
6:47
campaigns against these enemies he's
6:50
conducted
6:50
vicious harassment and bullying online
6:53
uh
6:54
over and over and over again and you can
6:56
see now
6:57
i think that he's he's come to the
7:00
realization that this may be
7:02
over because now it's reached mainstream
7:05
it's not just a
7:06
youtube situation it's not just the
7:08
youtube community talking about it
7:10
it's discovery plus and now
7:13
people outside this world albeit a very
7:16
important and influential world
7:18
of youtube people outside it are going
7:20
to see it and people are going to be
7:22
outraged they're going to demand justice
7:24
for the victims
7:25
and that he faced justice in a court of
7:28
law
7:29
when i when i think of this and i'm
7:30
gonna uh get out of the way so rather
7:32
than
7:33
tracy could can jump into it um
7:36
a couple of things um come to mind
7:39
especially when uh when i look at shiloh
7:41
and her story i think you know i got a
7:43
daughter chris you know what i mean
7:44
chris
7:45
i got a daughter yeah and i wanted to
7:48
have you on so you could talk to this
7:50
audience now
7:51
after you set this up about what are
7:53
some of the heinous things you've seen
7:55
or that you discovered that people are
7:57
doing to lure in these young girls and
7:59
it's usually between
8:01
usually teenage years and they're not
8:03
only just taking advantage of them
8:04
manipulating them their lives
8:06
but also you know a lot of these women
8:08
are young girls are being sold into
8:10
involuntary servitude and sex
8:11
trafficking
8:12
and that's right well i'm telling you
8:14
especially especially during this time
8:16
of pandemic and people shut down and
8:18
locked in
8:19
more kids more vulnerable young women
8:22
and children
8:24
are are on the internet than ever before
8:28
everybody's doing everything online
8:29
people are taking classes online
8:31
people are entertaining online people
8:33
are talking to people they never met
8:34
before online and the predators
8:37
know this way so the environment
8:41
has become more toxic potentially than
8:44
ever before as we speak right this
8:46
minute
8:49
chris hanson is here uh hb you want to
8:52
jump in this
8:53
uh um hi chris thank you so much for
8:55
coming i i guess i'm just trying to
8:58
figure out you know like it sounds super
9:02
judgmental chris but like people like
9:05
like that just make me sick like i don't
9:07
want to talk to them i don't want to see
9:09
them
9:10
and i know like we have to be
9:12
professional like even in this industry
9:15
doing media and radio
9:16
like how do you not slap the [ __ ] out of
9:18
somebody like when you
9:20
when you like face to face with them
9:24
listen i don't i know what you're saying
9:26
because you know this guy tries to make
9:27
it personal he attacks me
9:29
he gets all these other people riled up
9:31
on youtube and social media to attack me
9:33
because
9:34
he knows that he can find people who are
9:37
just
9:37
looking to make it big right and so
9:39
they'll create whatever drama they'll
9:41
say whatever they want or create
9:42
whatever false narrative they want
9:43
and if they target me they're going to
9:45
get clicks and views because it's my
9:47
name
9:47
right i get the game i'm a big boy i've
9:49
been around in this business for 40
9:50
years i can handle it
9:51
but i can see firsthand how somebody who
9:54
didn't have thick skin
9:55
like me would would uh be intimidated by
9:59
this and that's how he's gotten away
10:00
with it for so long he'll go up and
10:02
he'll spin his narrative and make some
10:04
creepy videos he'll make a cartoon about
10:05
you and make a cartoon character watch
10:07
it
10:07
and beat you down or try to but when i
10:09
went knocking on his door
10:11
a year ago this week boy he called 9-1-1
10:14
he wasn't going to come out and talk to
10:15
me
10:15
he didn't have the guts he didn't have
10:16
the guts to go face to face man to man
10:19
and talk about this stuff he hid behind
10:21
the door and called 9-1-1
10:23
and we had the tape we had on the
10:24
youtube channel you'll see you'll hear
10:26
it in the in the
10:27
discovery plus documentary and oh chris
10:30
hanson's on my front porch and
10:32
and he doesn't have the cuts to deal
10:33
with the real world
10:35
and so he continues to hide he talks
10:38
about how he talked to
10:39
discovery plus or talked to me really
10:41
demanded you know hundreds of thousands
10:42
of dollars and attached all kinds of
10:44
uh considerations to it that just could
10:46
not be met
10:48
and so he's you know playing this game
10:50
but most of these predators
10:52
you guys know this because i've been on
10:53
talking about this before
10:55
are you know they target children
10:56
because in real life they're cowards
10:58
this is who they go after and they you
11:01
know one once they're confronted
11:02
you know once they go away you know they
11:04
can't survive because they don't have
11:06
this
11:07
vulnerable group
11:10
of victims that they can exploit
11:13
chris hanson is here um onision is the
11:16
uh
11:17
youtuber greg jackson um who's featured
11:20
in onision in real life streaming
11:22
exclusively on discovery plus yo i just
11:24
thought about this when hb when heather
11:26
said how come you don't just slap some
11:27
of these people
11:29
you know you know what's the youtuber
11:32
name
11:32
uh that that that did beat up nate
11:34
robinson and you know
11:35
got real popular oh yeah yeah john paul
11:38
jake paul jake paul jake paul
11:40
so yo chris you see where i'm going
11:43
tracy you see what i'm doing tracy
11:45
okay okay chris why don't you step in
11:48
the ring
11:51
i'll talk to mike tyson that's been
11:53
suggested i don't know i'm a little
12:03
so so there'll be no boxing match
12:05
between chris hanson and
12:07
no okay okay just just intellectually
12:09
perhaps but
12:10
okay all right physical stuff he talked
12:12
bad about you though he talked real bad
12:14
about him
12:16
he talked really everybody he knows
12:18
everybody
12:21
you know he's taken him on before
12:23
because everybody's afraid to do it
12:25
you know he'll take some you know
12:27
youtuber
12:28
you know some kid who's you know getting
12:30
through school who's
12:31
energetic and wants to go investigate
12:33
something and take this guy on because
12:34
he sees what's happening
12:36
and he'll box his kid up so many ways
12:38
that that
12:39
it's more trouble than it's worth to
12:40
continue the investigation i don't have
12:42
that issue
12:43
you know come on come again you know
12:46
don't do that they'll find some patsy to
12:48
make some videos someplace and
12:50
you know with a fancy editing suite and
12:53
you know say this and say that
12:54
that's what they do but at the end of
12:56
the day you know
12:58
we'll expose this and and justice will
13:01
be served
13:02
on gregory jackson and you you even see
13:05
you'll see in the
13:06
documentary you know on discovery plus
13:08
you know
13:09
his dad is even interviewed right daniel
13:12
imagine this poor guy now you talk about
13:13
somebody viciously targeting somebody
13:15
there's poor guys good man
13:17
really good man uh good dad and this guy
13:21
is
13:21
by mean guy onision gregory jackson is
13:24
manufacturing
13:25
vicious vicious the worst
13:29
possible allegations against his father
13:32
and yet his father had the moral spine
13:34
to stand up and say look i did my best
13:37
and i'm shocked and i apologize for the
13:39
way this kid turned out
13:41
and that took guts of randy jackson to
13:43
do that this good and decent man and yet
13:45
this kid
13:46
just attacks women brutally fish
13:48
viciously
13:49
um goes after him in this way
13:52
tracy are you familiar with him i am
13:55
familiar with him unfortunately
13:57
and i know he is um chris to your point
13:59
definitely the king of distraction and
14:02
deflection
14:03
when all of these controversies come his
14:05
way
14:06
um so there's two things one i want to
14:09
hear
14:10
more about youtube refusing to
14:13
take him off the platform you know is it
14:16
because
14:17
this is still in the stage of
14:18
allegations you know it hasn't been
14:20
taken to court
14:22
and then two because in general you've
14:24
you know you've
14:25
spoken to so many other pr of these
14:28
predators
14:29
can you speak about the psychology you
14:31
know like what the mental health
14:33
situation
14:34
is going on because oftentimes people
14:36
just want folks just thrown into prison
14:38
but do you believe in rehabilitation
14:42
if that's possible for a sexual predator
14:45
well you know i think there are
14:46
different levels of sexual predators
14:49
and it's a great question and when i get
14:51
asked all the time i think there's a
14:53
group that
14:54
never can be rehabilitated gotta lock
14:56
them up forever i think this group who
14:57
wouldn't be offending if it wasn't for
14:59
the internet
15:00
the access the addictive nature of it
15:03
the uh
15:04
anonymity of it where you know guys say
15:06
and do things they wouldn't normally do
15:08
and then they do it so much online that
15:10
suddenly they have to fulfill this
15:11
fantasy
15:12
and then you know there's the you know
15:14
sort of inept
15:16
guy who you know can't talk to girls and
15:18
so they reach out and they say things
15:20
and do things and you know it's not for
15:21
the internet that todd wouldn't offend i
15:23
mean
15:23
onision i believe and i'm not a
15:25
therapist you know
15:27
i'm not a law enforcement agent i just
15:29
you know play one on tv as i always say
15:30
but
15:31
they you know he fits all the categories
15:34
i mean he's developed into a point i
15:36
don't know what damaged him
15:37
i don't know what got his psyche the way
15:39
it is but
15:40
from people with whom we've spoken
15:44
uh from high school he was you know
15:47
started started starting to you know
15:50
spin this web of him being superior and
15:52
him having this power and then
15:54
suddenly he's the star on youtube and
15:57
and
15:57
it starts out you know creatively and
16:01
and he hits this tone with certain young
16:04
women
16:05
and a lot of them flock to him and then
16:06
it takes this just
16:08
really dark turn when he starts to
16:09
become abusive and targets these people
16:12
and when you see what he's doing he'll
16:14
do things like
16:15
you know he's been putting out videos
16:16
since the you know the
16:19
discovery plus production has been close
16:21
to to rolling out and
16:23
he always blames the victim in other
16:24
words he'll take somebody who is well
16:26
known in the internet community
16:28
for being underage who went out to live
16:30
with
16:31
onision and kai the spouse and
16:34
clearly suffered was abused and he'll
16:37
blame
16:38
her by saying that you know they
16:41
rejected her
16:42
that she raped them in the central
16:45
encounter i mean it's absurd and yet
16:49
you know a certain few will will will
16:51
come to accept that or they'll just
16:53
throw up their hands and say you know
16:54
this guy is encourageable now in terms
16:56
of youtube
16:57
which is a very important question for
16:59
months now
17:00
you know i've had back channel
17:02
conversations with the you know
17:03
everybody from the ceo of youtube on
17:05
to their their press people and nobody
17:08
has ever been willing to go on camera
17:10
for an on the record interview
17:11
uh nobody has done more than issues
17:14
statements
17:15
or you know reiterating the policy
17:18
against
17:19
bullying and and hatred and vicious
17:21
attacks
17:22
but in the case of the discovery plus
17:25
this uh
17:25
uh documentary uh youtube
17:28
chose not to put a spokesman up for a
17:30
for a television interview which
17:32
to me is shocking um i mean why would
17:35
you not at least
17:36
go on and say you know this is a problem
17:38
we're looking at it and you can't defend
17:40
it i mean i'll defend
17:41
you know the first amendment until my
17:43
deathbed i mean that's that's
17:44
one thing but to to knowingly allow
17:49
you know this sort of um
17:52
hatred bullying harassment criminal
17:55
harassment
17:56
is is is just not acceptable in and you
17:59
see it happen on twitter
18:01
you know and you see it happen with the
18:03
transmission of
18:04
of child pornography on other social
18:06
media websites they they don't
18:08
monitor it this the way they should and
18:10
there are lawsuits coming and
18:12
it's this is going to be one of the big
18:14
stories of 2021 guys
18:16
i promise you and and i'm going to be
18:19
right at the right at the front of it
18:20
leading the charge because
18:22
there has got to be uh some sort of
18:25
reckoning when it comes to this because
18:27
it's just it's it's intolerable and it
18:30
it leaves a wake
18:31
of victims chris hanson is here
18:34
uh love the work you're doing man chris
18:36
hanson is here
18:37
[Applause]
18:39
um you and the one the other reason why
18:42
i wanted to have you on because in
18:43
recent years there's been uh in terms of
18:45
sex trafficking it's been a
18:47
major abundance of disappearance of
18:49
young um
18:51
african-american young black girls who
18:53
have been disappearing
18:54
and nobody's talking about it chris yeah
18:57
no one is talking about it
18:59
i know i know what you're saying swain
19:00
and one of the you know i got a lot
19:02
going on you know
19:04
project wise and one of the things that
19:06
is right on the top of the list
19:08
is uh involving that very story
19:11
in human trafficking and i've enlisted
19:13
the help
19:14
of former human trafficking victims
19:20
people have become advocates and we're
19:22
working closely now and developing
19:24
an investigative program series an
19:27
interface with an
19:28
app um you know where people can report
19:32
this stuff
19:32
and then you know accurately and
19:34
verifiably get it to law enforcement
19:37
um we're out doing new you know
19:39
traditional predator shoots
19:41
um law enforcement is involved in these
19:43
you know they're up on the
19:45
youtube channel right now we're looking
19:47
at a couple different tv networks for it
19:49
but you know the overall goal here
19:52
is to integrate what we do in terms of
19:56
television and digital broadcast with
19:59
what law enforcement has become
20:01
very good at some law enforcement in
20:03
terms of
20:04
you know rooting ferreting this out and
20:06
then creating a concept for citizens
20:09
viewers consumers to report stuff and
20:11
have it all go into database i mean
20:13
look the national center for missing
20:15
exploited children does it does an
20:17
excellent job but i think there's a
20:19
there's another
20:20
way to look at it as well and it it it
20:23
involves
20:24
you know education and media and
20:26
exposure because i've always said and i
20:28
know i've said this to you before but
20:29
it it it's the mantra of this kind of
20:32
reporting of the
20:33
one reporting the documentary and
20:34
everything else we do is
20:36
if you can get into the mind of a
20:37
criminal and get a sense for how it
20:39
works and hear the voice of a victim
20:41
then you can prevent other people from
20:43
becoming victims and the whole
20:46
idea behind this is to to do it in a way
20:48
that's compelling and gets people's
20:50
attention
20:50
like this um particular documentary on
20:53
discovery plus we take people into a
20:55
world that wouldn't normally see they
20:56
see things they wouldn't they wouldn't
20:58
see anywhere else and hear things that
20:59
wouldn't normally hear and that's
21:01
the job that we do and you know
21:04
constantly you know i'm blessed with a
21:06
great team and a lot of people who work
21:08
with me on this stuff and
21:09
and you know especially discovery and
21:11
the black fun productions and all that i
21:13
mean
21:13
they're so committed to expose this
21:15
stuff and you know
21:17
i i think we're just getting started
21:19
quite honestly well consider us a media
21:21
partner i'm always going to have you on
21:22
here exposing
21:24
okay always always be here you know that
21:26
okay all right that's what's up
21:27
real quick i know you got to go but it's
21:29
the line setting it up
21:30
chris hanson is here and if you don't
21:32
get a chance to ask him a question chris
21:34
tell them how they can reach you on um
21:35
social so on social media it's at chris
21:38
hanson
21:39
on twitter it's um on instagram it's
21:42
official chris hanson and
21:44
you know hit me up you know we we i try
21:46
to interact as
21:47
as much as possible with people um you
21:50
know we're probably due for
21:52
uh another ask me anything session i'm
21:54
happy to come on with you guys anytime
21:56
you want
21:57
people's questions and and you know we
21:59
got to you know a couple other things
22:00
going on we got this podcast predators
22:02
have caught that's out on apple right
22:03
now and
22:04
uh and that's cooking and um you know
22:07
look back at where these guys are now
22:09
and you know again i just i can't
22:11
state enough how important it is for
22:13
people to watch
22:14
this onision in real life on discovery
22:17
plus it's
22:18
it's it's just it's really important
22:20
television it's extraordinarily well put
22:22
together
22:23
and it is going to be one of the
22:26
catalysts for change
22:28
um in this in this digital platform
22:31
world
22:32
okay chris hanson is here and um you
22:34
need to get that podcast on pandora
22:36
chris we'll talk about that later
22:38
uh we got sister sister chanelle from
22:41
pennsylvania is on the line sister
22:42
chanel grand rise
22:44
hey mama good morning and
22:47
mr hanson hey chanel
22:50
i like to agree with what you said some
22:52
rv are able to be rehabilitated and some
22:56
are not but
22:56
i wanted to say uh that western medicine
23:00
and science hasn't but connect the
23:03
spiritual
23:04
aspect to abuse such
23:07
spirits like demonic spirits and den in
23:11
the effects of incense and child sexual
23:14
abuse
23:14
like you recycle and when the child is
23:17
abused at
23:18
the young age they repeat this or they
23:21
act out in
23:22
anger or bad wedding or they repeat
23:25
like bad touch good touch you know and
23:28
i'm a former incest survivor and child
23:32
sexual offender i offended at six
23:36
eleven years old and eighteen and
23:39
twenty-five
23:40
but i wasn't grooming child children i'm
23:43
not a pedophile
23:45
i wasn't grilling children i wasn't a
23:47
predator it was like
23:48
i was in a trance because there were
23:51
ouija boards
23:52
in my young life and they sell these
23:55
things in the toy store
23:57
and that's what happened to the girl on
23:58
necklaces her and her mother were
24:00
playing with the ouija board
24:02
and the
24:07
i think there's a strong connection and
24:09
i'd like you to comment on the demonic
24:11
aspect of these predators minds and
24:15
stuff
24:17
that's interesting well it is
24:19
interesting and i think you've got a
24:20
point there but i i do
24:22
obviously you know believe that there is
24:24
a
24:25
spiritual connection in there that when
24:27
people lose that
24:28
you know that sense that moral compass
24:30
uh right and wrong
24:32
it leads to you know bad decision making
24:36
and
24:36
and obviously if you're you know
24:39
predisposed to this kind of behavior
24:41
there's no uh emergency stop
24:45
gap to it you know so it goes to the
24:47
larger point which is there is no one
24:49
single answer to this
24:51
and we as a society want simple answers
24:54
we just do that's just the way we are
24:55
in america and it's not that simple it's
24:57
not that simple of a study of medicine
25:00
psychiatry psychotherapy law enforcement
25:03
it's it's you know we want to lock them
25:05
all up and put them away
25:06
and every time they lock them one up
25:08
there's another one going i mean
25:10
it's you would think i mean consider
25:12
this we did the first
25:14
predator episode in 2004 right
25:17
yeah 30 days ago we were in
25:20
michigan and we caught a prison guard
25:25
a police officer from lebanon uh a
25:29
babysitter
25:30
and a guy who did uh mechanical work
25:33
in the governor's mansion all in one
25:35
episode all in one investigation
25:37
still today you know 16 years after the
25:41
very first investigation
25:43
wow let me shocking let me ask you what
25:46
were your thoughts
25:47
when you saw all of this information
25:49
about jeffrey epstein coming out and
25:52
his many of us associates in the
25:54
political realm from the yeah
25:55
well you know i'll tell you i'll tell
25:57
you a backstory and i learned to help a
25:59
lesson here sway on that deal because
26:01
i had been obviously watching the
26:03
epstein story
26:04
back you know when it first came out and
26:06
he had gone
26:07
to you know the work release program for
26:09
a year and then
26:10
i got wind around 15 16
26:13
that you know he was back at it again
26:16
and i had some meetings
26:17
down in florida and here in new york
26:18
with investigators who were taking a
26:20
look at it
26:21
and on the periphery of victims who were
26:23
you know
26:24
thinking about speaking out and and i
26:27
tried to honestly
26:28
fashion some sort of a sting you know
26:30
here in new york
26:31
and it wasn't easy it was hard we
26:33
couldn't pull it off there are
26:35
multiple layers of security surrounding
26:36
epstein and his crew
26:38
and so i i hate to admit this
26:41
but i'm just being honest that i got
26:43
busy with other projects right
26:44
and so i set the epstein thing aside it
26:46
was the miami herald
26:48
sway that kept chipping away at this
26:51
thing day after day after day
26:54
local reporting talking to the victims
26:58
the victims identifying themselves being
27:00
brave enough to come forward and lawyers
27:02
who
27:03
you know just kept pushing and pushing
27:07
and pushing that's what made the
27:08
prosecution of epstein
27:09
you know you can see the same thing with
27:11
you know r kelly
27:13
you know um that series you know
27:15
surviving r kelly
27:17
got the ball moving that's what we're
27:19
gonna do
27:20
with with uh onision and so many others
27:23
it's you gotta stay on this stuff you
27:25
gotta it's it's not always the most
27:26
glamorous
27:27
kind of reporting day after day after
27:29
day interviewing victim after victim
27:30
after victim
27:32
um but you gotta say on it we're doing
27:34
it on a number of other cases right now
27:36
and and that's how you you get things
27:38
out there but yeah i've seen
27:40
you know it's it's one of my career
27:42
regrets that i didn't
27:43
pay closer attention to it i'm glad the
27:45
miami herald did i'm glad
27:46
it got exposed i'm glad it's all all
27:49
happening now
27:50
but um yeah there was a big lesson for
27:52
me there
27:53
and you just got to keep chipping away
27:55
at it chris hanson
27:57
round of applause for chris hanson check
27:59
them out on discovery plus
28:01
onision in real life by the way he
28:04
he he he claims he's innocent of all of
28:07
these things he's been accused of
28:08
correct
28:09
oh yeah yeah yeah just to let you know
28:11
uh
28:12
chris thank you thank you looking
28:14
forward to seeing you thank you
28:16
everyone all right thank you citizen he
28:18
is
28:20
oh man absolutely
28:26
interesting yeah to say the least
28:31
let's let's let's let's put the
28:32
spotlight on all these tag poles
28:36
all of these scumbags that's out here
28:38
preying on our daughters
28:40
and our sons sex trafficking is up high
28:44
40 i want to say louisiana 49 of the
28:46
women that were selling this off the top
28:48
self
28:49
sex traffic sex trafficking
28:52
was black women
28:56
50 they made up 19 of the population
28:59
this was back in 2018.
29:01
50 were young black girls
29:04
you know and and have that and i always
29:06
and tracy i think if
29:08
if it was more of other people's
29:10
problems we'll see more of it being
29:12
solved
29:13
you know what i mean like if we're right
29:15
when it's directly relating to you we're
29:17
like where are
29:18
where are our daughters going what's
29:20
happening with our daughters so i
29:21
appreciate the work that chris hanson
29:23
does and it's dangerous
29:24
to be walking up to predators houses
29:26
knocking on their doors
29:28
that man might be 60 years of age it's
29:31
dangerous so
29:32
um we wanted to have this segment you
29:34
know
29:35
just to make you aware of some things
29:37
we're always talking about what's
29:38
happening
29:38
on the internet and on these digital in
29:40
these digital spaces i want you to be
29:42
aware of that too the same way we want
29:43
you to be aware of the music
29:45
your kids are listening to be aware of
29:47
where your kids are traveling
29:48
when they're traveling on the internet
30:04
you
