And I tell you, man, we've been watching
0:03
this man's trajectory for
0:05
>> [applause]
0:06
>> for the decades have to be. And
0:09
every time I see him, whether I see him
0:11
on stage,
0:13
uh
0:14
whether I see him in in different
0:16
spaces, whether I see him speaking about
0:18
finances and about health and about
0:20
business, I see him on on a platform
0:22
with his son, you know, creating new
0:24
legacies and
0:27
opening up about his family, man.
0:29
There's something about him. I've been
0:30
attached to him since his early days,
0:32
uh Rich Nice days, you know.
0:35
The Disturbing the Peace days. And to
0:38
watch to watch him evolve, man, I look
0:40
at it
0:41
and I look at the Based on a T.R.U.
0:44
Story debuting
0:45
on number one on Billboard. Get that man
0:47
a round of applause for that. Multiple
0:50
Grammy nominations. Get that man a round
0:52
of applause for that.
0:53
>> Keep clapping.
0:54
>> Most Expensive Vest Show that he host.
0:58
Give him a round of applause for that.
1:00
The list keeps going on. Then this new
1:02
book, Two Chains: The Voice in My Head
1:05
is God. Now we're starting to experience
1:07
a lot of our peers who are who have have
1:10
ascended, I like to say, and have have
1:13
grown, have evolved, and over the
1:16
decades have have learned words, have
1:19
learned the language on how to express
1:21
what it is they felt and what they saw.
1:24
Some of the things we experience we at
1:25
the time we experience it, we don't have
1:27
the words, we don't have the language.
1:29
>> Yeah.
1:30
>> You know, to to to attach to those
1:32
experiences. So when someone like this
1:34
man
1:35
is sharing
1:37
who he was before you even knew him as
1:39
an MC, when he was just a basketball
1:42
player and and a trapper.
1:45
You know, and to for him to share and be
1:47
open and vulnerable in a book like he
1:49
has, and he has such a great concept in
1:51
doing it. I want to commend him and
1:53
welcome him back to the show. Give it up
1:55
FOR TWO CHAINS.
1:56
>> YEAH.
1:59
>> OH, GIVE IT
2:00
>> PIP PIP!
2:00
>> COME ON.
2:01
>> YEAH, YEAH.
2:01
>> The voice in my head is God.
2:04
>> That's right.
2:05
>> Man, bro. First of all, how you been?
2:07
>> I've been good. I've been good. This is
2:09
my first time in this
2:11
>> in this
2:11
>> studio, right?
2:12
>> in this studio.
2:13
>> Yeah, how it feel? We going to
2:13
>> I graced the other one many a time. It
2:15
feels good. It feels good.
2:16
>> You know,
2:17
you ain't seen nothing like
2:18
>> like it? How you like it?
2:19
>> I love it. I love it here. It's a lot of
2:21
windows, you know, in New York we're
2:23
kind of closed in and boxed in a bit,
2:25
but there's something about the energy,
2:27
just being able to look out and see the
2:29
sky.
2:30
>> Yeah, letting God in.
2:31
>> Letting God in.
2:32
>> Letting God in, right?
2:34
Um
2:35
I'm curious about this concept, you
2:37
know, of the voice in my head is God.
2:41
We hear voices in our head from a young
2:43
age and we try to identify, well, what
2:46
is that? You know, I mean, I'm I'm
2:48
talking now, but there's a voice in my
2:49
head while I'm talking. Right? Um when
2:53
did you
2:54
identify that as God speaking to you? At
2:57
what age did you come to grips with
2:59
that?
3:01
>> So,
3:02
let me just go back to what you just
3:04
said. I'm
3:06
not aware that everybody has this.
3:09
>> Okay. Okay.
3:11
>> Um yeah.
3:11
>> So, my angle of the book is to
3:15
speak on that
3:18
that inner
3:20
compass, that
3:22
divine guidance, that voice, that gut
3:25
feeling,
3:25
>> Mhm.
3:26
>> um intuition is the the you know, and I
3:29
wanted to
3:31
discuss
3:33
what that means to me and how much it
3:36
means to me, right?
3:38
Now,
3:40
the voice
3:43
is something that I as a creative, I
3:45
don't know if it's a creative thing, I
3:46
don't know if it's a everything
3:48
everybody thing, but
3:51
I have
3:53
This is This book is based off
3:55
experience. You have to live long enough
3:57
to write a book like this. You know what
3:58
I'm saying? Like this book I couldn't
3:59
wrote this book at 25 years old. You
4:01
know what I mean? I I wasn't that tapped
4:03
in.
4:04
When I'm writing this book and I'm
4:06
trying to find my angle on
4:09
a book releasing out You know me, I want
4:12
to be different. I don't want it to be
4:13
as cliche as I feel like another rapper
4:16
would be looked at. I'm sure people
4:17
would have thought of it being an
4:19
autobiography or something like that.
4:22
I wanted to be able to tell my stories,
4:25
but not just about
4:27
the struggle and the pain. This book is
4:29
to try to educate, teach. And it They're
4:33
all from my life experiences.
4:35
The The word God
4:39
in this book is not so much like this
4:42
book is not like a religious book. It's
4:43
more about like reflection and
4:45
awareness.
4:47
But when I The voice in my head is God.
4:49
When I talk about the voice, I talk
4:50
about my conscience. I talk about my
4:52
intuition.
4:54
And And the reason I use the word God is
4:56
I'm giving credit to something much
4:58
higher than myself and my ego. You know
5:00
what I'm saying? Like I ain't no way
5:02
Ain't no way it could be from me. You
5:04
know what I'm saying? So, this is what I
5:06
believe in. This is what I've been
5:07
knowing. You can say the voice in your
5:08
head is whoever you believe is higher
5:10
than you, but for me it's God. And you
5:13
know, at first the publishing company
5:15
like they might put you on a religious
5:16
thing. It was a whole thing. They
5:18
almost wanted me to just change the
5:20
name, but I didn't know I didn't want to
5:21
say like the voice in my head is like a
5:24
higher power. I just wanted to stand on
5:26
what I felt like it was, right? And you
5:27
hear all throughout upbringing, you
5:29
know, you made in the image of God and
5:31
God is in you and blessings come from
5:33
within and I You just put all that
5:36
together. It kind of starts to make
5:38
sense, right?
5:39
Because you know, we have voices that
5:41
tell us to do some some messed up stuff,
5:43
too, right? But what I tell you is that
5:45
God is love. And if it's not
5:49
in the space of love, then that voice
5:51
could be another voice. I've heard that
5:54
voice, too.
5:55
And so, it's more like
5:57
you know what I'm saying? Me just
6:00
teaching a method that I've been using
6:02
for a while. It's almost like my
6:05
friends, my close friends, like, "Bro,
6:06
how you keep doing this?" And it's like,
6:07
"Man, let me just put this out
6:10
and hopefully one person tries it and it
6:12
changes the trajectory of their life."
6:14
>> Mhm. I know that two chains, man. Um and
6:17
in the way you put it out
6:19
maybe you know what, man? Maybe I'm
6:21
being presumptuous. Maybe everybody
6:23
doesn't I don't know, you know.
6:25
>> but you tell me you're I mean, when but
6:27
when you have these conversations, you
6:28
hear people Some people say, "Oh, yeah,
6:30
man, you know, something told me." You
6:32
know, cuz I'm trying to tell you like
6:33
you keep you keep saying something told
6:34
you. Like, I'm trying to trying to put
6:36
you down like I feel like the something
6:38
is this. Yeah. When something tells you
6:40
like, "Man, something told me like don't
6:42
go out none this week. Something told me
6:43
to just" You know, these things that we
6:45
say
6:46
unconsciously, I feel like they have
6:48
more weight on it. So, I just kind of
6:50
like highlighted some stuff. But like
6:51
you said you you tell me about Tell me
6:54
about the voice in your head. Yeah.
6:56
>> Uh
6:58
uh
7:00
uh
7:01
since I was a child
7:03
is when I I start uh realizing
7:08
um that I have
7:10
uh I I possess a certain intu-
7:12
intuition.
7:13
>> Okay.
7:13
>> Something that's innate in me as well
7:16
that led me down a path that most people
7:19
in my peer group that I grew up with
7:21
it was just different. And I learned to
7:24
listen to it, but I think
7:26
you know, I had some training. You know,
7:28
I had a great auntie and a great uncle,
7:29
Auntie Lucy and Uncle Murph uh uh Uncle
7:32
Silas Murph
7:34
and my Auntie Lucy
7:36
um
7:36
used to
7:38
train that voice in me.
7:40
>> Mhm.
7:40
>> She used to tell me, "Well, what is what
7:42
is what is it say? What do you feel on
7:44
the inside?" Oh, wow. Yeah. And I would
7:46
say, "Well, I feel like this." Follow
7:48
that feeling cuz that's coming from
7:50
within, you know? And at an early age, I
7:54
didn't always do it and when I didn't do
7:56
it, [ __ ] would happen, right? You got a
7:59
chapter in your book called Shoot 'Em in
8:00
the Stomach and Let God Decide.
8:03
And you had a moment where
8:06
in this chapter you talk about wanting
8:08
to buy some rims at a young age when you
8:11
were in college and as you were getting
8:14
closer to that destination
8:16
>> [laughter]
8:17
>> The voice getting loud.
8:18
>> The voice is
8:20
talking to you saying the rims aren't
8:21
going to be there.
8:23
You know, now if
8:26
you weren't properly trained cuz you
8:28
didn't listen to the voice that day,
8:29
right?
8:30
>> I listened to it because
8:33
prior to going to get the rims, I put
8:34
the money in my sock and in my crotch.
8:36
So, so something told me something told
8:39
me something, right? But on the way
8:41
there when I say there's no rims there,
8:42
you we do this all the time with stuff
8:44
that we can't see. You know, we just you
8:47
know, it be that mess around and find
8:49
out thing, right? So, instead of
8:51
listening to say, "Hey, man, turn
8:52
around, man. I don't think the rims
8:54
there." I got to What if they are there?
8:55
You know what I'm saying? And this is
8:56
you know, so I get there, you know, the
8:59
guy's up a tool and and and they looking
9:02
for money, but they can't they not they
9:03
didn't search my sock or or anywhere
9:05
else. So, they never got the money. So,
9:07
it was more like an attempted robbery.
9:08
But something told me something the
9:11
whole time. And so, in this book you'll
9:12
hear these stories about like when I go
9:15
back and relive these stories, how I
9:17
either ignored the voice or paid
9:19
attention to the voice and then
9:21
essentially how my consciousness just
9:23
let me take success once I started
9:25
locking in like, I'm just doing this.
9:27
I'm just doing Oh, okay. Now, I'm doing
9:29
this now. I'm like, I'm I I go to a spot
9:31
and all of a sudden, I just I'm ready
9:33
I'm ready to go call the car.
9:34
>> Mhm.
9:35
>> It it don't even be
9:36
nothing nobody finna shoot up the spot.
9:38
Ain't nothing finna It's just time for
9:39
me to go. It's just, you know, something
9:41
something's telling me it's time to get
9:43
leave, whatever.
9:44
>> And you follow that, right? You follow
9:45
that.
9:46
>> Yeah.
9:46
>> Um you just I never forget the time if I
9:49
always remind you of this when I was We
9:51
was at the Super Bowl in New Orleans and
9:52
I was couldn't get a taxi and I'm
9:54
walking in New in New Orleans by myself
9:56
and 2 Chainz
9:58
>> [laughter]
9:58
>> 2 Chainz
9:59
>> What is that? What is that?
10:01
>> pull up in the van
10:03
Let see you out there.
10:04
>> I'm by myself.
10:06
>> Walk off the corner.
10:07
>> [laughter]
10:08
>> and pick me up and What are you doing,
10:10
man?
10:11
>> What are you doing, man?
10:12
>> But let let me ask you this.
10:13
Um
10:15
something told me
10:18
to call MTV back after the third time.
10:22
You know.
10:23
>> Yeah.
10:23
>> I wasn't listening the first two.
10:25
>> Mhm.
10:25
>> And after the third time, I felt like,
10:27
well, I might not hear this again.
10:29
And that led to me moving to New York
10:31
and having
10:33
a very successful, powerful, impactful
10:36
um journey rocking with MTV, right?
10:39
>> And that was one of those times I
10:41
listened and I and I was rewarded some
10:43
of the ga- greatest game.
10:45
Can you tell us a time that that voice
10:48
told you you should do this?
10:50
And what was that greatest game that you
10:52
got from hearing your voice?
11:01
>> Oh, man. [sighs]
11:03
Oh.
11:06
I mean, the voice it it could be
11:10
overwhelming to some. I'm I'm I'm used
11:12
to it, but you know, relationship
11:14
advice, business advice.
11:15
>> Yeah.
11:16
>> You know, we all have like somebody to
11:17
talk over things with, whether it's a
11:18
friend or manager. But internally for me
11:23
Oh, man.
11:27
It's so many thing And then look, like
11:28
some of the stuff is so small it's like
11:30
you can't be serious, but I listen to
11:31
like
11:32
the smallest thing. I mean, it's so
11:34
small. I mean, I literally like my boys
11:37
would be like, "Put them other glasses
11:38
on." It's so small that I just do it.
11:40
You know what I mean?
11:41
And I know a situation um
11:45
Big got horse out there was just talking
11:46
about my son Halo and um
11:49
his basketball journey, right? And I
11:51
remember
11:53
being the dad that wanted
11:56
to take him somewhere close, like
11:57
somewhere around the house, like don't
11:59
want to really like just want to Anybody
12:00
around the neighborhood training and
12:02
doing all this and uh
12:04
I had a friend I got a friend uh
12:07
he's a part of my management team. He
12:08
has a son that plays football. He like,
12:10
"Bro, sometimes you got to take him
12:12
you got to take him far if you want to
12:14
get certain results, you know what I
12:15
mean?" And I
12:17
I'm like, "Man, how So, I get in touch
12:19
with somebody." They like, "You know, we
12:20
do it out here." As far as a I don't
12:22
know how far it is. Yeah. It's like an
12:24
hour, right? So, I started going and
12:27
started getting in traffic.
12:28
I start
12:30
almost
12:31
being irritated and I I I think like I'm
12:33
in traffic, but you know, I'm in a
12:35
Maybach. What am I complaining about,
12:36
right?
12:37
>> [snorts]
12:38
>> And I take him to the facility and
12:40
you know
12:42
uh it's far, you know, man. It's you
12:45
know, it's like I say far as hour so
12:47
there hour so back.
12:49
>> It's an inconvenience for
12:50
>> It's an inconvenience. He got school. He
12:52
got to get rest.
12:54
And a year after me doing that, my son
12:57
became
12:58
ranked in the nation, right?
12:59
>> Wow.
13:00
>> Now,
13:01
did the voice the the
13:04
the voice told me, you know, try. You
13:06
know, because what kid the
13:09
A lot of most of kids success is from
13:11
the parents, right? And kids can't drive
13:12
or anything, right? So, it's our
13:14
responsibility to
13:15
put them in position to be great. And
13:19
so, that that was one of the things that
13:21
popped in my head because it was
13:22
something I did not want to do. Yeah.
13:24
But when it came across my desk,
13:26
I said, "You know what? You know And
13:28
then another thing that happened that I
13:30
I would not I would have never known is
13:33
that it built a much closer relationship
13:36
with with him and I cuz we talked for an
13:38
hour. I pick him up from school. He
13:39
like, "Dad, let me tell you what
13:40
happened." It switched I mean, we
13:42
already had a cool relationship, but now
13:44
we like together for like an hour. I'm
13:46
watching him training and we leave for
13:47
like an hour. Like we just and
13:51
this simple concept of maybe taking them
13:54
far to train has brought me closer to my
13:57
my son. You know what I mean? So, it's
13:59
stuff that happens that you won't even
14:01
put two and two together. But then when
14:03
I think about it like, man,
14:05
just how just how cool we are and that's
14:07
just it's because of this long-ass ride.
14:09
You know?
14:09
>> Yeah. Yeah. He ranked number one he was
14:11
number one in the country?
14:12
>> No, he's not number one. He's in the top
14:14
25.
14:14
>> Top 25.
14:17
>> Salute, nephew. Salute. Can't wait for
14:19
him to get that contract. I'm showing
14:20
up.
14:21
>> got What what business do you have
14:22
there?
14:22
>> dad for decades. I don't I don't have my
14:24
rights. [laughter]
14:27
>> Tracy G and uh Mike News over in New
14:29
York. H, do you want to holler?
14:30
>> I do. Um
14:32
thanks for being here and thank you for
14:34
having the disciplines and and
14:36
discipline and obedience, I would say,
14:38
to write this book. Um
14:41
I'm from the school where I believe
14:43
everyone has a has that voice.
14:45
>> Really?
14:45
>> I absolutely. And I think that dependent
14:48
on
14:49
how you hear it and how you experience
14:52
it is how you choose to be obedient or
14:55
not. I think sometimes the voice and
14:58
voices can be so overwhelming, we choose
15:00
to self-medicate. Sometimes our egos are
15:04
so big and it's not according we're
15:07
going according to our plan rather than
15:09
tapping in to God's plan that we choose
15:11
to ignore. So, we listen to the other
15:14
voice. We We We listen to the voice that
15:16
self-serves us at that time.
15:18
And so, that's why I thank you for your
15:20
obedience to write this book because it
15:22
takes so much discipline and to stand on
15:24
that word God is obedience to change.
15:27
That's obedience. And I think sometimes
15:30
this conversation can be uncomfortable
15:32
because it will make you think about the
15:34
times when you heard certain things and
15:36
you didn't follow through and this could
15:38
be something very small. It's how I got
15:39
into radio. I was struggling in a time
15:43
in my life and I was struggling for a
15:44
few years and God said communicate.
15:47
Period. It was no other word and it
15:49
wasn't radio. He said communicate and I
15:53
had to be obedient when it was times
15:55
when it was no money attached to it,
15:57
when no time I thought wasn't attached
15:59
to it and even arguments in my own
16:01
family
16:02
about doing radio. This particular show.
16:05
Um, in this particular building. So, we
16:08
have to be steadfast on what we stand on
16:11
especially when we know that it comes
16:13
from God and I think this book will open
16:16
up a lot more conversation because I
16:19
agree you have to have the experiences
16:21
even to speak on what you're talking
16:23
about. This is not a light conversation.
16:27
It's a spiritual, but thank you for
16:29
that. Thank you.
16:30
>> appreciate that. Yeah.
16:32
Yeah. So, it's about, you know, tapping
16:34
in I guess if we were just, you know,
16:35
having slang it's just about, you know,
16:37
tapping in.
16:38
>> It's uncomfortable to tap in sometimes
16:40
and that's that's where I think it could
16:41
get tricky.
16:42
>> So, the the way I decipher it because I
16:44
I have a chapter here called the [ __ ] it
16:45
voice and we've all said done something
16:47
and said [ __ ] it. And sometimes the
16:49
outcome has been good, sometimes it's
16:50
been bad, you know, it doesn't always
16:52
when you say [ __ ] it and do some crazy
16:54
stuff.
16:55
>> Mhm.
16:55
>> You know, it doesn't like you say [ __ ]
16:57
it jump out of plane it don't mean you
16:58
going to die. You just like, "Ah, [ __ ]
16:59
it I'm you know."
17:00
>> Mhm.
17:01
>> But,
17:02
the way I decipher the voices because we
17:05
all have them.
17:07
And we all a lot of us self-medicate.
17:09
But, when I say God is love if you take
17:11
the is away
17:13
and put a equal sign
17:14
>> Mhm.
17:15
>> and put
17:17
like cuz this is So, doing doing this
17:19
book, I'm find Like, while this book is
17:21
open, right? I'm finding stuff like
17:24
Like, I found letters from 2003 that my
17:26
pop wrote around Thanksgiving from
17:28
prison. And it reminded me that all of
17:30
his letters, every one of them, every
17:31
time he wrote, he put God is love,
17:33
right? God is love. I don't even pay no
17:34
attention. I mean, I believe in God. I'm
17:36
just reading the letter, but it's just
17:37
God is love, God is love. Then I'm like,
17:39
"Oh!
17:41
He don't told me where God is."
17:43
>> That part.
17:44
>> I'm tripping. It's
17:47
Like, if it ain't got love in it, then
17:49
it can't be God. Like, it's not like
17:52
it's not as hard as we try to make it
17:53
seem. So, if something in your voice
17:54
telling you to do something that ain't
17:56
got love in it,
17:58
then you know it ain't coming from from
18:00
that source.
18:01
>> There you go.
18:01
>> That's how I
18:03
differentiate
18:04
>> Mhm.
18:05
>> when differentiate something cool from
18:08
crashing out.
18:09
>> Hey, Tracy G, you want to dive in?
18:11
>> Yeah, absolutely. 2 Chainz, I think this
18:14
is one of your greatest creations, this
18:16
book. And I really Yeah, I truly do. And
18:19
I appreciate your approach to it as a
18:22
manifesto. I want to talk about the year
18:26
2015.
18:27
2015 is when Halo was born, and you tell
18:31
this very chilling story, um how 3 years
18:35
prior to that was the passing of your
18:37
father. But on the night that Halo was
18:40
born, a house alarm went off for no
18:43
reason. And you checked the security
18:46
camera footage, and you saw a slightly
18:49
blurry figure moving throughout the
18:51
house. Um and when you looked closely,
18:55
you saw your dad's face.
18:57
And you saw that this figure was moving
18:59
like your dad. And every time you tried
19:02
to show someone this image, it would
19:04
disappear, or something wild would
19:06
happen. But you mentioned that you
19:08
believed that your dad didn't cross over
19:11
fully until Halo was born.
19:15
I would love to know more of your
19:19
I guess philosophy understanding of
19:22
purgatory and the afterlife as well as
19:26
what you can say to those who are
19:28
tremendously terrified of spirits. As a
19:32
culture here in the states particular, I
19:35
feel like, you know, ghosts are
19:37
something to be feared, not to converse
19:39
with, not to accept. But when you shared
19:42
the story, it was it felt like the most
19:44
natural thing in the world. So I'd love
19:46
for you to expound on it a bit more.
19:49
>> Okay, the clear part of the story just a
19:51
just a little bit. Everything is true
19:53
up to the point. All right, so we we
19:56
Halo was born on 10 14 15. He's born
20:00
October the 14th, 2015. I have my mom
20:02
and my daughters at home while my wife
20:06
and I are in the hospital
20:08
and she's giving birth. When she gives
20:10
birth, the alarm goes off. Of course,
20:12
you get a you get the message on your
20:14
phone and then my mom is calling me to
20:16
ask me
20:18
what the code is for the alarm. And I
20:21
and then she's also telling me like I
20:23
don't know why the alarm went off. We
20:24
ain't we ain't nobody. So somebody is at
20:27
home at the time. So when I'm looking at
20:29
my phone, I'm looking at around the
20:32
doors. I'm trying to see if any doors
20:33
are open or whatever. So
20:35
I don't see any footage at that time of
20:38
anybody in there, okay? We have the we
20:42
have Halo, we come home. I don't know,
20:44
man, maybe four or five days later
20:47
um because of the alarm going off, the
20:49
alarm will send you snapshots of the
20:52
motion detection where the motion comes
20:55
from.
20:56
So when my wife gets the email, she like
21:00
look at this. You know what I'm saying?
21:01
Look, bro, this is like
21:04
>> [snorts]
21:04
>> and I look and
21:07
it's just like at the top it's like you
21:09
see 10 14 15 but I buried my father July
21:12
4th, 2012. I remember it very vividly
21:15
cuz I was just very hurt.
21:17
And uh
21:18
I get this picture.
21:20
I get this image, right? It's two
21:21
images. In in one image is you know you
21:23
could tell he walking but they all
21:24
snapshots. It's not like something that
21:27
that is just running. It's snapshots.
21:29
But my dad used to walk around the house
21:30
with like no shirt on. He was you know
21:32
he was pretty fit to be in his 70s or
21:34
whatever. He used to walk around his
21:35
house with no shirt on and so you know I
21:38
showed my mom who's very spiritual and I
21:40
said you see anybody? Mom like yeah yeah
21:42
yeah. Well
21:43
I'm like Mom this happened tonight. So
21:45
she so she kind of joked about it like
21:47
you know your dad always [ __ ] with
21:49
me. Probably came to [ __ ] with me before
21:51
he crossed over to the like that was her
21:53
joke like crossed over. So I was like
21:54
well he's you know and then
21:57
you know obviously Halo's 10 now and he
22:00
is so much like my dad is not even
22:02
funny. You know what I'm saying? And so
22:04
I get this screenshot and now only show
22:07
people that
22:08
knew my dad and know how I feel about
22:10
him. So I go to my friend.
22:12
I say man look at this. You see anybody?
22:14
Like hell yeah. I see it right there. I
22:15
like yeah.
22:17
I'm like [ __ ] who that pop? I'm like bro
22:19
look at the date, bro. Pop been gone. He
22:21
like dropped the phone man what the hell
22:22
going on? You know what I mean? Boom. So
22:23
I do that for like
22:25
I do that for like three people and then
22:27
I I
22:28
I get I'm close with my management. So
22:30
one time I was like man I just want to
22:32
show y'all cuz they knew my dad too. I'm
22:33
like I want to show you something man.
22:34
Tell me if you see something.
22:36
I show it to him. He like yeah.
22:38
So one of them was like man that's
22:40
really cool. Like I I felt like ghosts
22:43
were real and then
22:44
you know they looking and they like man
22:46
you they really saying I'm lucky.
22:48
>> Yeah.
22:49
>> Like man you lucky that this happened
22:51
and you got proof that it happened. You
22:53
know what I'm saying? And so
22:57
anytime I would try to show people my
23:00
dad's very sarcastic and I just blame
23:02
his spirit for this, but when I would
23:04
try to show people, sometimes I could
23:06
not find it. And I would say I know
23:09
exactly when the date was. I It's not
23:11
like I'm like trying to remember. I know
23:13
exactly when it happened. I go back you
23:14
can just go back to the date in your
23:15
phone and I just couldn't find it,
23:17
right? Just couldn't. I say I give it to
23:20
my my wife. I said, "Bro, hold I sent
23:22
her this picture when I finally get it."
23:23
I said, "Hold this Hold this for me
23:25
because pop be being sarcastic and
23:27
sometimes when I try to show people it
23:28
make me look like I'm crazy cuz I can't
23:29
find it." We go to Florida one day and
23:32
this is no [ __ ] She gets out of
23:34
boat and then like her phone literally
23:35
looks like it crawls out of it like it
23:37
look like it landed and it look like it
23:39
crawled in the water. I look I saw it.
23:41
My wife is like she not even thinking
23:44
she not even thinking what I'm thinking.
23:46
I'm like, "Damn, she know she got all
23:47
kind of stuff in the phone about the
23:48
kids and all I'm thinking is man, you
23:50
know, pop the picture [laughter] the
23:52
picture in there." I'm like
23:54
And uh so okay, boom. I fast forward cuz
23:57
every so every now and then I go try to
23:58
look for it. Then I found it again. And
24:01
then I got my cousin who travels with me
24:03
everywhere. So I said, "Hey cuz here
24:06
you get this picture. You hold this
24:08
because sometimes I can't find this
24:10
picture."
24:11
He like, "I got you."
24:14
I go over yay house one day and uh we're
24:16
just talking about the afterlife,
24:19
ghosts, you know, all of this stuff,
24:20
right? And I'm like, "Bro
24:22
this may sound crazy, but my daddy came
24:25
back the night I had Halo, you know what
24:27
I'm saying? I have proof."
24:29
So just like my dad, when I go looking
24:32
for it in front of a table full of
24:34
people
24:35
I can't find it, right?
24:37
So I got my cousin with me in the other
24:39
room. I yell his name, "Yo cuz, come
24:40
here. Please come here so I won't sound
24:43
like I'm crazy, you know what I'm
24:44
saying? Can you show me the picture of
24:46
pops?" And this is when my pop gets
24:49
involved in my personal opinion. It's a
24:51
table full of food. It's a pitcher of
24:53
lemonade. I'll never forget this. I'm
24:55
the coolest player in the world. I don't
24:56
trip. If I were to trip on stage, y'all
24:58
I'll just start doing push-ups. I don't
25:00
fall. I'm not clumsy. I'm a real player,
25:02
right? Yeah.
25:03
Man, my cousin hands me the phone, bro.
25:05
I reach to get the phone, knock the
25:06
whole picture lemonade on everybody.
25:09
Like this is me. I don't do stuff like
25:11
that, right? So, in my as soon as I get
25:13
I say this this is my dad, bro. He be
25:15
[ __ ] with a [ __ ]
25:17
You know what I mean? So, everybody get
25:19
up, move back. Woo, you know, chairs go
25:20
back. Sure, you know, you wiping it up.
25:23
But, I had it.
25:24
>> Had it?
25:25
>> it. And so, I would I had it and I'm
25:28
like, now that all this is over like,
25:29
bro, this is you know, let me show you.
25:32
And you know, we had a conversation
25:33
about it. So,
25:34
um recently on uh so, you're somebody
25:36
that I I'll share it with, but I shared
25:38
it with Charlamagne on the on the
25:40
morning show the other you know, the
25:41
other day or whatever, but I'll I'll
25:43
share it with you because I have a high
25:44
respect for you and I know that you you
25:47
dwell on a higher frequency than a a lot
25:49
of other people. But, it was
25:51
it was
25:54
it was
25:55
it almost didn't make the book, right?
25:57
Because it's
26:01
You you know, you like you must be
26:02
tapped in for real. You saying ghost or
26:04
whatever, but it's hard to explain. I
26:05
don't even tell this to people. So, I
26:07
feel like, man, you put something in a
26:08
book, it's there. If they find it, cool.
26:11
So, what what I want to tell you
26:13
thank you.
26:14
Thank you for getting to that part.
26:16
Thank you for even asking me about that
26:18
question.
26:20
You know, I still have some things I'm
26:22
working on. I'm working on it through
26:24
like
26:26
writing books and stuff like that,
26:27
right? I hadn't sat down with anybody to
26:30
to really unpack a lot of stuff, but
26:34
it happened. It happened on my son's
26:36
birthday.
26:37
I got a picture of my pop walking
26:38
through my house. It's just Wow. And
26:41
it's like
26:43
Yeah, man.
26:44
>> Confirmation.
26:45
>> Yeah, but I I I got it since I've been
26:46
out here promoting my book cuz I'm like
26:49
>> You know, I've You to see it now,
26:50
though.
26:51
>> got you, fam. I got you.
26:53
>> All right.
26:53
>> want to show it to me while we live?
26:55
Yeah, man. Show that to me while we
26:57
live.
26:58
Don't trip and fall.
27:00
>> [laughter]
27:02
>> There's no water in this video, right?
27:04
>> Can HB see it? So, what Yeah, I got So,
27:07
what I started doing is every time I get
27:09
I just be trying to email it
27:11
to myself.
27:12
>> You can't find it?
27:13
>> No, I am. I'm I'm finding it. Hold on.
27:14
>> Okay. Okay.
27:16
This is interesting. We're talking with
27:17
2 Chainz, man. He has his um new book.
27:19
It's called The Voice in My Head is God.
27:22
It's available everywhere. Barnes &
27:23
Noble, Amazon, Target, or you can go to
27:25
his platform and get it direct. And
27:27
Mike, I'mma let you close with the last
27:29
question while he looks for this um
27:32
uh uh uh
27:33
if he can find it. Yeah, let's see if he
27:35
can find
27:35
>> My cousin with me though. So, every time
27:37
you do this, I got something for it. I
27:38
got something. Man, my I When you know,
27:40
you know. If you know this person,
27:42
then don't you Hey, Cat.
27:44
>> [laughter]
27:46
>> Tell Cat to bring me that.
27:47
>> Okay, he got the phone out already.
27:49
>> [laughter]
27:49
>> Yeah, he's having Every time I try to
27:52
Oh, no. Every time I try to show
27:54
somebody, bro, he ain't Bro, I went
27:56
straight to it. Look, I even got it
27:57
listed as Pop. I go to it. You got the
27:59
picture, Pop?
28:01
>> [laughter]
28:03
>> Cat don't want to do it. He like
28:05
Cat came in, "Nah, man. Again?"
28:07
>> Not again.
28:08
>> Mike News, while while while um we find
28:11
this Oh, he got it. Hold on. Let me see
28:12
it.
28:14
>> How come his phone work faster than 2
28:16
Chainz's phone? That's crazy.
28:18
>> No, it ain't that mine don't work. My My
28:21
prop up just
28:22
>> Yeah, just
28:22
>> Take it out my phone.
28:23
>> phone. Yeah, he'll just take it out for
28:24
you.
28:24
>> Let me know if you see anybody in the
28:26
picture, and then
28:28
we go from there.
28:29
>> I see that right here.
28:31
>> Yeah. Yeah, that's him coming through
28:33
the kitchen right there. No shirt on.
28:34
That's how I used to walk around.
28:35
>> Gosh.
28:36
>> Yeah. That's it.
28:38
>> Wow.
28:39
Crazy.
28:41
You see it for real? It's way
28:42
>> Cuz I
28:43
No, I'm seeing it for real.
28:44
>> Describe it in your words.
28:49
>> It's uh it's
28:51
uh
28:52
it's very obvious, number one.
28:54
>> Okay.
28:55
>> Uh that you see a figure there. You see
28:57
a it look like a topless
29:00
man there.
29:01
Um he's in a hallway. He's in a door it
29:04
look like a doorway.
29:05
>> Yeah, that's a doorway. That's a hallway
29:06
to the kitchen and it
29:07
>> [clears throat]
29:07
>> it seem like walking through, yeah.
29:08
>> Yeah. Yo, that's
29:11
And it and it looks supernatural.
29:13
>> Yeah.
29:14
>> Wow.
29:14
>> You want to see that? Come here.
29:16
>> Go ahead, HB.
29:17
>> Come here, HB.
29:17
>> HB, have you Sometimes I I have
29:19
energies.
29:20
>> [laughter]
29:21
>> That's why I want her to see it. That's
29:23
why I wanted to see it.
29:24
>> like DMing 2 Chainz like you know what I
29:26
got a message for you.
29:27
>> Hey, okay.
29:28
>> Oh, absolutely.
29:29
>> She gave them on the phone back. Why you
29:30
throw it at them?
29:31
>> I didn't throw it at
29:31
>> Okay, but it looked like you threw it at
29:33
them.
29:33
>> No, no, no, no, no.
29:34
>> You don't even want to
29:35
>> I it
29:36
Look If you
29:39
If you know, you know. And like if
29:41
you've had those type type of
29:42
experiences before, you know, you either
29:45
comfortable with the energy
29:47
or
29:48
you know, you know, but and you and you
29:50
honor that energy. It's it's not a a
29:52
scary thing or
29:53
>> a scary thing.
29:54
>> not, but you know how to honor it, you
29:56
know, um we pay
29:58
respect and reverence to our ancestors
30:00
and and and it's important that we do
30:02
that and it's important that we keep our
30:04
spaces a certain way. It's important
30:06
that we keep our mindset a certain way
30:08
because of our ancestors and so
30:11
God bless
30:12
>> something? Did you see something?
30:14
>> I saw a lot.
30:15
>> Did you feel something? Did you feel
30:17
something?
30:18
>> let Mike ask his question so we could
30:20
[laughter]
30:21
>> Okay. All right.
30:22
>> Leave me. Thank you for Well, well,
30:25
thank you for sharing though.
30:26
>> Yeah.
30:26
>> Thank you for sharing because that's
30:28
very um
30:30
spiritual and and personal.
30:32
>> Yeah, I almost called you your first
30:33
name after seeing that.
30:35
>> [laughter]
30:36
>> I almost called a lot of things.
30:39
>> Mike Will, take us home. Be careful.
30:43
>> [laughter]
30:44
>> You going to put this on Mike? Wow.
30:46
>> 2 Chainz, this has been a really a
30:47
really great conversation and thank you
30:49
being for so open to discuss this type
30:51
of dynamic that a lot of us are just
30:53
afraid to to do. I've shared similar
30:57
traits and gifts with you
30:59
as well regarding voices and gifts and
31:01
intuition and spirits and energy. And so
31:03
I'm just curious,
31:05
what is your relationship, I know you
31:06
just discussed it, your father's dynamic
31:08
and transition, but what has your
31:09
relationship been like with death and
31:12
passings and those who have crossed
31:15
over?
31:18
>> That's that's a good one.
31:22
I've had
31:24
a lot of a lot of friends and family
31:26
pass over. The closest person to me
31:30
would be my my my father. And now and I
31:32
was there when he passed. Like I saw him
31:34
like I was in the hospital when he was
31:36
when they was trying to
31:38
you know, when he was flatlining.
31:40
So that [snorts] experience alone was
31:46
uh
31:47
hm
31:50
Do I want to say it's hard or beautiful?
31:52
I don't know. As I grow, as I
31:55
continue to grow, it's like
31:58
you know, I was I was there when he when
32:00
he left here. But I don't I don't know,
32:02
but I you know, when that happened, I
32:05
started
32:08
When my father passed in front of me, it
32:10
it it definitely crushed me. But at the
32:13
same time,
32:16
the whole the whole experience of him
32:18
passing
32:20
crushed me, right? Because
32:23
my dad was in prison
32:27
the majority of my life.
32:29
The way my father passed, he was on a
32:32
I really did still don't know how he
32:33
passed, but I know he he ended up being
32:35
on like a a breathing
32:38
like They had
32:39
>> ventilator
32:40
>> Uh well, they had something going down
32:41
his throat. I guess is that you know
32:43
what I mean? Like a like a life support.
32:45
No, it wasn't life support. He was still
32:46
alive, but it was like you could see his
32:48
chest like it was helping him breathe.
32:49
And then like so the the night
32:51
So, I had a show
32:53
The last night I talked to my dad, I
32:54
stayed with him like a week in the
32:55
hospital. And my dad is super like I
32:57
said I told y'all he's sarcastic. And so
33:02
I'm asking him I'm telling him I got a
33:03
show in Savannah. Savannah, Georgia is
33:05
not, you know, out far outside of
33:07
Atlanta, Georgia. So, I'm like I'm
33:08
telling him I got a show. I had already
33:09
sent my friends down there. I'm like I
33:12
got a show. I can stay here with you.
33:14
So, my dad said a couple of things that
33:15
I never forget. He First thing he said
33:17
was the dope man my [ __ ] role
33:18
model. When I looked at him say that cuz
33:21
I had a song on my mixtape called role
33:22
model and it was that was the hook. Dope
33:24
man my So, that was one like level of
33:26
sarcasm. When he said the dope man my
33:28
I'm like, man, you straight, you know
33:30
what I'm saying? Boom. And then he said
33:33
he put his fist out and he said do it
33:36
big, Elps. We fist pumped. Boom. My last
33:39
name Elps. And then he said, "Go on and
33:41
go to Savannah. I ain't about to die no
33:42
time soon." So, I said, "Cool." I go to
33:45
Savannah. I turn around after I get off
33:48
stage. I don't go to no hotel room. I
33:50
don't do nothing. When I get back to the
33:51
hospital, he on this breathing [ __ ] So,
33:54
I'm asking what the [ __ ] happened in
33:55
that in that window. They like, "Man,
33:57
his [snorts] oxygen level's low." I'm
33:59
still like tripping.
34:02
So, what happened was this is what
34:04
really kind of [ __ ] with me is if you
34:06
take the
34:09
the the tube that's going down your
34:10
throat, they say if you take it out, you
34:12
could die. If you pull it out. But it's
34:14
natural for you to pull want to pull
34:15
that out because there's something in
34:16
your throat. So, they handcuffed my dad
34:18
to a bed. Okay, boom. Now, this is what
34:22
I can never get out my head. He
34:24
breathing, but he looking right at me
34:26
while he doing it. And in my opinion,
34:28
he's saying
34:29
how do these folks take these
34:30
[ __ ] handcuffs off me, you know
34:32
what I mean? So, I say, "Nah, man. You
34:34
know, he he don't want to be I know he
34:35
don't want to be here. Let's take these
34:37
handcuffs off." I do that four times.
34:40
Take them off. He try to take it off.
34:41
Now, I'll put No, no, no. Put the
34:42
handcuffs back on.
34:44
No, no, no. Take them off. I do that
34:46
four times. And then I try to And every
34:48
time you take the handcuffs off, it's
34:50
like he's trying to take this [ __ ] out
34:51
and tell me something. But they said if
34:52
he take that out, he could die. So, now
34:54
I'm trying to hold his arms. So, I do
34:56
that for like, I don't know, man, a
34:58
couple of days. You know what I'm
34:59
saying? Like, bro, let this be. You know
35:01
what I mean? And so, that whole
35:02
experience
35:05
made me almost angry, right? Because I
35:07
was really there by myself. I'm asking
35:09
my mom like, "Where were you last night?
35:10
Why you didn't come?" I'm asking my
35:12
girl. I'm just, you know what I mean?
35:13
So, I really
35:14
I'm angry at the hospital.
35:16
You know what I'm saying? I'm just like
35:17
angry. I'm just I'm angry at the nurse.
35:19
When when he go to flatline, and they it
35:21
take them four times. I He wake up.
35:25
Then he go out. And the And the nurse
35:27
tell me say, "You know, we done broke
35:28
four two of his ribs. And he'll be He
35:31
won't have the same, you know, you got
35:33
to let it go." And it just was not that
35:35
easy for me.
35:36
So,
35:37
I I use that example because
35:40
I was crushed but my pops was also like
35:42
sick that I could see. So, I wasn't like
35:45
fully surprised. I was just hurt and
35:47
angry. Now, when you have somebody that
35:50
may die in a car wreck. They were fine.
35:52
Something happens. You get a call.
35:55
Something that just It just happens out
35:57
of the blue.
35:58
That kind of death to me seems to hurt a
36:02
little more, right? Because you like, "I
36:04
just had I just talked to this It's like
36:06
those kind of deaths."
36:08
>> Yeah.
36:08
>> So,
36:09
you got the somebody sick over some
36:12
time, getting old death that kind of
36:15
preps you. And then you got the
36:17
"What you mean?"
36:18
>> Yeah.
36:19
>> The snatched away.
36:20
>> "What you mean?" You know what I'm
36:21
saying? Like, "What you mean?" And I've
36:22
had that happen with a close friend of
36:23
mine. Like, "What what What happened?
36:25
How? He drive too good to have an
36:28
accident. You start being like, "No. No,
36:30
man. Homey ain't had no You know what I
36:31
mean? So,
36:33
um you know, as far as my beliefs and
36:35
how I handle death, I think it just
36:38
depends on that type of case, right? I
36:40
think it depends on if it's just
36:42
something sudden
36:44
or something that we knew was
36:45
inevitable. And inevitable, I think for
36:48
me would be uh somebody that's aging,
36:50
right? Not like somebody that's living
36:53
on the edge. Like, even somebody living
36:54
on the edge and you can kind of see them
36:56
going down the wrong path. You still
36:57
don't want to hear that something
36:58
happened to So, you know, my beliefs on
37:01
death and spirit is it's probably not
37:05
really definitive right now. I'm not
37:06
really sure. I just know what has
37:07
happened to me in my life, so I can kind
37:09
of speak on that. Like, my my dad really
37:12
thought it was cool to come pop up in my
37:14
house.
37:15
>> Yeah.
37:16
>> And and [ __ ] with us while I'm having my
37:18
son, but then my son says stuff and acts
37:21
like he has been here before.
37:24
>> Mhm.
37:24
>> You know, a lot. We have the podcast
37:27
together and I we don't even We never
37:29
had a script. We just go out there and
37:30
just improv that. We've been improv for
37:32
6 years, you know what I mean?
37:34
>> too, bro.
37:35
>> Like, you know, so yeah, I I I don't
37:37
know if that answered it, bro, and I
37:38
probably zigzagged a lot, but death is
37:40
not easy for me to answer.
37:42
>> No, that's the answer into itself. There
37:44
really is There never is a right answer
37:45
with that. Just wanted to hear your
37:46
thoughts on that. So, you you answered
37:48
it as the energy let you to answer.
37:51
>> Well, I want to say thank you
37:55
um to our friend
37:56
>> Yes.
37:57
>> uh for coming in today and and and
37:59
sharing with us
38:01
two chains.
38:02
>> [applause]
38:03
>> Um
38:04
>> Mhm.
38:05
>> Thank you, brother. This is um we we
38:08
It's it I mean, I love it when you can
38:10
be around somebody for years and you
38:12
just constantly learn more and more and
38:14
and you share what you learn with each
38:15
other
38:16
>> Yeah.
38:16
>> as we go.
38:18
This is a great addition
38:20
um to your legacy and to ours, you know?
38:24
And so,
38:25
personally, I want to say thank you.
38:26
There's so much in this book that I can
38:28
relate to. Some stuff I'll share with
38:30
you off air.
38:30
>> Mhm.
38:31
>> Uh, when you shared me that picture with
38:32
me. And that picture is something else,
38:34
man.
38:35
>> Yeah, it is.
38:35
>> Yeah, I saw you I saw you I saw you get
38:37
a little watery eyed, but it's it's
38:39
it's a real thing, man. And
38:41
I don't just go around showing other
38:43
people either.
38:43
>> You can't
38:44
>> I don't think you should either.
38:45
>> can't do that.
38:46
>> Yeah, but if you ever want to just drop
38:48
the phone like, "Here, take this thing."
38:50
>> I didn't throw it. I didn't throw it,
38:52
but
38:53
>> You got to know yeah.
38:54
You got to know.
38:55
>> She'll be texting you.
38:56
>> Nah, she
38:58
>> I ain't going to
38:59
text him. Swae don't take my texts and
39:01
he don't want my dreams, my
39:03
>> Man,
39:05
dreams I talk about dreams, too. And
39:06
then you cuz before I get out of here
39:08
though but like you remember they I'm
39:09
sure I'm from the Southeast have like
39:11
these dream books.
39:12
>> Books, absolutely.
39:12
>> Yeah, that you that you that you
39:15
My aunt them used it to play the
39:17
numbers. Yeah.
39:18
You know what I'm saying? You'll be
39:19
like, "I had a dream about a cow. What
39:21
that mean? Go to cow."
39:22
>> Go to cow.
39:22
>> 463. [laughter] Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's
39:24
play that number. So,
39:25
>> Or snake. A snake is in your dream?
39:27
>> Oh, man. A fish or somebody pregnant.
39:29
Which one is fish? Which one is the
39:31
pregnant?
39:32
>> You That's I'm sure I know some people
39:34
listening like black people crazy.
39:36
>> [laughter]
39:36
>> But in a black household you'll be like,
39:38
"I had a dream about a fish." "Somebody
39:39
I
39:40
Somebody pregnant."
39:41
>> Somebody pregnant.
39:42
>> Yeah, man. So, it's it's that it's that
39:44
it's that kind of tapping, y'all. I
39:45
appreciate y'all for having me on the
39:46
show. Thank you, man.
39:48
>> Thank you, brother.
39:48
>> And uh, yeah. Man, it's always love and
39:50
respect. Love you, too, brother. Yeah,
39:52
appreciate you, man. 2 Chainz.
