US: Ohio Trooper Rescues Abandoned Puppy Found In Crate Along Ohio Interstate.

Ohio, United States - August 23, 2026 Trooper John Kronander found an abandoned puppy inside a crate during a morning rest-area check along Interstate 71 on August 23, 2026. The bodycam footage shows Kronander approaching a metal crate covered with cardboard. A small gray-and-white puppy is inside. The trooper opens the crate and speaks to the puppy. The dog comes out, paws at him and plays with a plastic bottle in his hand. Kronander then picks up the puppy and places it in the passenger seat of a patrol cruiser. The puppy had been left in the crate without food or water. Kronander brought the dog to the Medina Post before taking it to the Medina County SPCA. The shelter named the puppy Miles and estimated him to be about 3 to 4 months old. After receiving medical care, Miles was listed for adoption. Patrol officials said they were reviewing surveillance to determine who left the crate.
