DRONE SHOT OF SHEEP GRAZING ON SLOPE TUNCELI, TÜRKIYE (RECENT AUGUST, 2026): Villagers in the Ovacik district of Tunceli spend the summer months on high-altitude pastures, producing cheese, butter and yogurt from the milk of their livestock. Producers from the villages of Gozeler, Havuzlu and Sahverdi take their flocks to the upper slopes of the Munzur and Mercan mountains in eastern Türkiye each year and stay in tents near grazing areas. The villagers walk for kilometers each day as they graze their animals on mountain slopes, meadows and valleys at elevations reaching around 3,000 meters. They also keep watch against bears, wolves and jackals, while bringing their animals back twice a day for milking. The milk is then used to make cheese, yogurt and butter. Villagers keep part of the products for their own needs and sell the rest to support their livelihoods.
