Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - September 20, 2026 Officials sign an implementation agreement for the expansion of the China-aided Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute at a ceremony held at the JKCI in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on September 20, 2026. Grace Magembe, permanent secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Health, and Chen Mingjian, Chinese ambassador to Tanzania, formalized the pact, which covers a Chinese government-funded expansion to be built at Mloganzila on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam; the 28th Chinese medical team to mainland Tanzania also donated medical equipment and medicines at the event.
