AWACS TAKING OFF (2 SHOTS) KONYA, TÜRKIYE - JULY 6: Turkish Air Force Airborne Early Warning and Control (AWACS) aircraft will play a key role in securing the 36th NATO Summit by conducting continuous patrol missions over Türkiye's airspace. Based at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya, the aircraft are equipped with multi-function electronically scanned air and maritime surveillance radar capable of detecting and tracking multiple targets within a range of up to 400 kilometers. The aircraft transmit real-time data to ground operation centers, military aircraft and naval units, enhancing situational awareness during operations. As part of security measures for the NATO Summit in Ankara, the aircraft are scheduled to remain airborne for a total of 60 hours, providing continuous surveillance and contributing to the protection of Türkiye's airspace.
