VARIOUS OF TURKISH AEROSPACE' STANDS AT EXHIBITION EL ALAMEIN, EGYPT - SEPT. 8: Turkish defense firm Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) showcased its TOLGA Close Air Defense System alongside a range of weapons and ammunitions at the El Alamein International Aviation Exhibition in Egypt on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The exhibition highlighted the modular TOLGA air defense platform, which integrates the Gokboru AESA radar, a signal jammer, 12.7 mm and 20 mm vehicle-mounted weapon systems, and a vehicle-mounted command and control center. Designed with a modular architecture, TOLGA combines weapon systems, anti-drone ammunition, radar, acoustic detection, electro-optical sensors, electronic jamming, and command-and-control capabilities to counter different aerial threats. A laser weapon system and the ENFAL-17 missile have also been integrated into TOLGA as part of efforts to enhance its multi-layered air defense capabilities. MKE is also expected to hold talks aimed at expanding defense industry cooperation during the exhibition. The company and Egypt's Ministry of Military Production signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this month covering the joint production and development of various defense products, particularly explosives. Five Turkish defense giants made Defense News’ Top 100 list this year, reflecting the industry’s expanding global footprint and rising export revenues. Aselsan ranked 40th on this year’s list, followed by TAI at 48th and Arca Defense at 53rd. Roketsan placed 64th, while MKE entered the ranking at 81st. Turkish defense companies have been climbing global rankings in recent years, driven in part by surging exports. The five companies generated a combined $14.9 billion in defense revenue, with exports accounting for a significant share.
