May 12, 2026
Marmaris, Türkiye - May 10, 2026 A handheld video filmed by X user Nisa Nur Cavusoglu captured a sweeping panoramic view of the Global Sumud Flotilla arriving in Marmaris on May 10, 2026, during a technical stop in the international humanitarian mission. The footage shows more than 30 sailboats and yachts spread across the calm turquoise waters of the bay under clear sunny skies. The camera slowly pans from left to right, revealing the full flotilla anchored near the green mountainous coastline and forest-covered hills surrounding the harbor. People can be seen standing on several vessel decks while colorful flags and banners fly from some of the boats. Pine tree branches frame parts of the shot as the camera captures the peaceful but symbolic gathering in the Turkish port. The video was posted with the caption: “The Global Sumud Fleet, which set off from Barcelona on April 15, arrived in Marmaris with 33 boats.” The flotilla, carrying nearly 300 activists from more than 50 countries, is attempting to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid. The vessels departed from Barcelona on April 15 and later regrouped in Turkiye after facing interception by Israeli forces in the Mediterranean. According to the post, the stop in Marmaris was planned for resupply and maintenance before the fleet continues on the final stage of the journey toward Gaza. Activists arriving at Marmaris Port underwent entry and medical procedures after docking. The flotilla is also expected to hold an international assembly and press conference in the city regarding the blockade and related incidents.
