VARIOUS OF GROUNDED DRY CARGO SHIP KARASU, SAKARYA PROVINCE, TÜRKIYE - MAY 1: A foreign-flagged cargo ship ran aground off the coast of Karasu in Sakarya province, northwestern Türkiye on Friday, May 1, after drifting due to adverse weather conditions. Authorities said the vessel was pushed toward the shore before becoming stranded in waters off the district. Coast guard, maritime safety, disaster and emergency teams, gendarmerie and firefighters were dispatched to the area following reports of the incident. Efforts are expected to begin to rescue the eight crew members on board, with a coast guard aircraft requested to support the operation.
