Syria: Drone Views Idlib Amid Offensive.

Idlib, Syria - December 04, 2024 An aerial view filmed by drone shows Idlib and the surrounding landscape in northwestern Syria on December 4, 2024, as fighting intensified during a major opposition offensive against the government of President Bashar al-Assad. Opposition forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) had launched a surprise offensive from their stronghold in Idlib in late November, capturing most of Aleppo before advancing south toward Hama, where fierce clashes with Syrian government forces were under way on December 4. Syrian and Russian warplanes had meanwhile stepped up air strikes on opposition-held areas of Idlib and Aleppo in an effort to slow the advance.
