Footage released by the Catalan Fire and Rescue Service showed firefighters battling the blaze on Raval Bassons Street in the Vall del Sol area of Cervello, a municipality in Catalonia. The Catalan fire service said it dispatched 17 ground units and seven aircraft after receiving reports of the fire around 2 p.m. Spain's weather agency on Wednesday issued red heat alerts for parts of Valencia, Alicante, and Murcia, warning of an "extraordinary danger" as temperatures are expected to exceed 44C (111.2F) on Thursday amid an intensifying heat wave.
