The blaze broke out on Tuesday afternoon and burned around 54 hectares of vegetation, sending thick smoke across the area as firefighting crews worked to contain the flames. Authorities ordered around 15,000 residents in the Torre Baró and Ciutat Meridiana areas to remain indoors, while 35 people were evacuated as a precaution.
