Established in 1883, the plantation continues to produce tea using traditional methods on the volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Benefiting from the island's volcanic soil and humid oceanic climate, Gorreana grows tea without the use of pesticides. Its terraced tea fields have become one of the Azores' best-known attractions.
