New York, United States - June 05, 2026 Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced on Gun Violence Awareness Day that more than 2,000 of them were removed since January 2026 at Police Headquarters in New York, NY on June 5, 2026. Police Commissioner was joined by District Attorneys of the Bronx Darcel Clark, Brooklyn Eric Gonzalez, Queens Melinda Katz, Manhattan Alvin Bragg, as well as Criminal Division Chief for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York Amanda Houle.
