Residents are struggling to make ends meet in Tyre, a coastal city in war-torn southern Lebanon, as the spillover from the latest round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has brought heavy casualties, massive economic losses and widespread displacement. Since the fighting erupted in October 2023, Israeli forces have launched repeated airstrikes and military operations across Lebanon. Damaged and destroyed buildings still scar Tyre and the surrounding countryside, and many families have been driven from their homes. Among them is Hussein Salman, a small trader who drives every day to villages on the outskirts of the city, delivering and selling food and daily necessities to local residents. His house was destroyed when the fighting first broke out three years ago, rebuilt with all his savings and then bombed again five months ago, after the conflict reignited in March. As a father of six, Salman says providing for his children has become a daily struggle. Shotlist: Tyre, Lebanon - Recent: 1. Various of destroyed buildings; 2.
