Kenya: Inland Container Depot Groundbreaking in Naivasha.

Nairobi, Kenya - October 09, 2026 Kenya and South Sudan jointly break ground on an inland container depot in Naivasha, Kenya, on October 9, 2026. The project will allow cargo destined for South Sudan arriving at the Port of Mombasa to be transported by rail to Naivasha for customs clearance and onward delivery, strengthening bilateral trade and regional logistics links. Kenya's Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku marked the occasion by reaffirming Nairobi's commitment to deeper East African economic cooperation.
