VARIOUS OF FUNERAL CEREMONYDEIR AL-BALAH, PALESTINE - MAY 21, 2026: A 23-year-old Palestinian woman was killed in an Israeli military strike on Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, local sources said Thursday, May 21. The victim was identified as Fatma al-Muanni, a university student. Mourners gathered at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, where al-Muanni's body had been transferred, before carrying her remains for burial. Relatives and family members bade her a heart-wrenching farewell amid scenes of intense mourning. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 881 people have been killed and 2,621 others injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire. The agreement was meant to halt Israel’s two-year war that has killed more than 72,000 people, mostly women and children, injured over 172,000 since October 2023, and caused massive destruction that affected 90% of civilian infrastructure.
