AMBULANCE DRIVING THROUGH CROWD AND LEAVING SCENE DEIR AL-BALAH, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - SEPT. 16: A child was killed and several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli attack near a water facility in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza on Wednesday, according to local reports. The attack occurred as Palestinians were waiting in line to fill containers with water at the facility. Al-Awda Medical Complex in Nuseirat said in a statement that it received one body and nine injured people following the attack. The strike targeted a group of Palestinians near Salah al-Din Street in the Bureij refugee camp, it added, without providing details on the condition of the wounded. The incident comes amid continued Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. According to Gaza's Health Ministry, 1,381 Palestinians have been killed and 4,757 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire took effect. Israel’s genocide on Gaza, which began on Oct. 8, 2023, has killed 73,795 Palestinians and injured 174,869 others, according to Palestinian figures. The war has also destroyed around 90% of the Gaza Strip’s infrastructure.
