Nablus NABLUS, PALESTINE – OCTOBER 1, 2026: Israeli military forces raided the eastern area of Nablus early in the morning during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, deploying soldiers and military vehicles to secure the entry of hundreds of Israeli settlers into Joseph’s Tomb, where religious rituals were performed inside and around the site. The operation began at around 3:00 a.m. and continued into the morning. Several roads leading to the site were closed, while Palestinian residents were restricted from moving through the surrounding area, particularly along Amman Street. Residents of several homes near the site were forced to evacuate, with the properties used as temporary military positions and barracks. Snipers were deployed on rooftops, while nearby shops were forced to close. Israeli forces also raided the Central Vegetable Market and restricted movement in the area.
