India: Indian Army K9 warriors showcase elite slithering skills during high-intensity combat drill in Manipur.

K9 units of the Indian Army’s Red Shield Division carried out a specialised slithering exercise. Five dog teams joined the training programme aimed at improving heli-borne insertion skills, operational coordination and overall combat preparedness during challenging missions. The incident took place at Leimakhong Military Station in northern India’s Manipur on May 8. Visuals show that military working dogs wearing specialised harnesses were lowered from hovering helicopters alongside their handlers during a training exercise. The drill demonstrated coordinated aerial deployment techniques used in search and rescue operations, disaster response efforts and counter-terrorism missions requiring rapid tactical movement. According to reports, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps carried out a high-risk slithering exercise in Manipur to demonstrate rapid heli-borne deployment capabilities during specialised operations. K9 warriors from the Red Shield Division participated in the training programme at Leimakhong Military Station alongside army personnel. The exercise highlighted operational coordination, battlefield readiness and tactical movement in demanding environments. Officials said the drill focused on improving rapid insertion methods and strengthening coordination between military dog units and troops during complex missions. The training also aimed to enhance combat preparedness and response efficiency during counter-terror operations, rescue assignments and other critical situations requiring quick deployment and seamless teamwork between handlers and K9 units.
